Golem could easily be a sweeper It's got the attack for it, and It's STAB attacks have amaizing type coverage, plus with Rock Polish it could tear teams apart who aren't ready for it.

ultranerd57 December 27th, 2007 12:13 PM

Golems base speed is 45 it would take a couple (2-3) of RPs to get it to sweep and by then you opponent could easily have KOed you.

Well it really depends on what you're looking for. At first you said a WALL. How the heck did Nintetails get brought in a wall? It can't defend! The only thing is, although Torkoal still has better Attack and SP. atk, Ninetails has access to Nasty Plot and Energy Ball

I've got a Modest nature Porygon-Z. No Speed boost base 90 speed, and full speed EVs. I have still seen it sweep across teams. A Golem, with a 252/252 ev spread, jolly nature, and an RP could outrun a base 100 Salamence, Zapdos and Slaking... as long as they don't have any items boosting their speed or are running a speed boosting nature.

So what about Magmortar?

Wait, you can breed the Surfing Pikachu to get more Surfing Pikachus? Why do I doubt this? Anyway, for Magmortar...

Magmortar @ Leftovers; Flame Body
Modest; 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
Flamethrower
SolarBeam
Sunny Day
Will-O-Wisp

That's probably the best one for OU, since Stealth Rock and sandstorms kill it so easily.

CrasH December 27th, 2007 4:53 PM

Ok guys haha I have beat diamond. and Im starting over on pearl.

and so far i have Empoleon, Roserade,Golem,Salemance,Magmortar,

but i really don't know who else, Scizor or Sneasel? I know this team kinda sucks but i will change it up later on. any help would be nice

I strongly disagree. Abamnasnow, Hipppo, or TTar can switch in on your solarbeam and get a free hit on you while you charge up. Not only that, but it is so dang slow compared to other OU sweepers that stuff like Scarfers and fast CBers and specs users like Zam and Salamence can come and just destroy any chances of sunnybeaming. Really, Magmortar is better to just hit and run away. It's like a special blaziken kind of (though blaziken can use special tatacks, to its credit).

Fine, then YOU post here instead of me, while I sell my games on eBay or something. God, I HATE making stupid mistakes like not reading everything on a web page.

Calm Down. Anti was just showing why your statement made no sense.

And you are right - Surfing Pikachu could not possibly breed for another Surfing Pikachu

@Crash - I think you mean Weavile (not sneasel). He would be a better option out of those two, as you do NOT want 4 weaknesses to the most commonly used physical move - Earthqukake.

Weavile @ Expert Belt/Muscle band(is it 20 or 10%)
Timid/Adamant | 252 Attack / 220 Spd / 38 HP/SDef
~Night Slash/Pursuit
~Ice Punch/Shard
~Brick Break
~Aerial Ace/Pursuit

[email protected] Specs/Scarf
Timid/Modest Nature

Defensive set

[email protected]
Impish Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 184 Def, 74 Atk
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Stealth Rock/Sleep Talk
-Rest

Not the best, but eh. Rest is it's only form of recovery, so then it can either Sleep Talk to continue doing damage, or with Cleric Support you can have Stealth Rock on it instead, STAB moves stay on so it can cause some damage.

El Gofre December 28th, 2007 8:08 AM

Hi, Im participating in an uber tournament when I get back to school, does anyone have any suggestions for a physical sweeper? My current pick is a hasty Rayquaza, but would he be fast enough or would I need to scarf him?

Azonic December 28th, 2007 8:10 AM

Probably would need to Scarf him. It poses as a huge threat that way.

El Gofre December 28th, 2007 8:20 AM

Ok thanx, now i need a physical wall lol. Once I have that I'm all set :)

shedinjask December 28th, 2007 9:22 AM

Rayquaza also gets DD/Outrage. Or Specs/Draco Meteor, but there are better things for that.

I think it was the 100 base SDef and Hypnosis/WoW. Still works better as a sweeper though.

Death_Mande December 28th, 2007 10:07 AM

Whats a good move set for a Blasoise,Venusaur,Charizard,Pikachu,Gengar and a Alakazam? Hope it's not too much for you guys to answer, since im going to start EV training to battle around PC.

DD-Quaza is one of the most unstoppable pokemon you will ever see.

You can't breed it. Oh well its not that important anyway just something that'd be fun to use.

@ Ancelic Diablo Thanks for the set.

CrasH December 28th, 2007 11:57 AM

Ok so Empoleon, Roserade,Golem,Salemance,Magmortar,Weaville. any suggest something diffrent?

shedinjask December 28th, 2007 12:21 PM

You have some EQ weak. Golem can't take them forever and one immunity with no resists isn't enough.

GalladeIceMan December 28th, 2007 12:34 PM

Good set for a Snorlax?

What's a good moveset and spread for Snorlax?

.Eevee-Chan December 28th, 2007 12:54 PM

Battle Tower Team Needed! A Team of Six please! Also i need EV spreads, natures, moveset, items, and help choosing the Pokemon.

Jolteon Not sure

ABYAY December 28th, 2007 1:24 PM

There's something I've always wanted to make that would be hilarious to see done.

Steelix @ Grip Claw/Leftovers ***Mr./Ms. McDOTs (male/female)
Impish nature
252 HP/252 Def/6 atk

Sand Tomb
Bind
Toxic
Protect/Sandstorm

lolz... ^^ DOTs! (damage over time), and this could be a great witherer of some tanks. Sure Bronzong and Skarm mess it up, but non-steels are really hurt by it.

Why did I post this? I wanted to know if this could actually be ran in a battle. I really want to make one like this, just to annoy people as they're stuck in either Bind or Sand Tomb with a Sandstorm active. In a sandstorm team, Protect = massive damage even while remaining unhurt.

I'll learn how to take criticism when you learn how to spell it.

Sorry. It's just that when I make a stupid mistake like that, I get pissed at myself, and everyone else ends up taking the flame.

To stay on topic, what's the best set for a Jumpluff for OU?
