It still fits in the limits, so your signature is fine.

Now it's fine, as your resized images are under the 500x300 limit.

Zeturic March 14th, 2007 2:06 PM

I changed it.... Again. So... is it still okay

Yes, it's still under the 500x300 pixel limit, so it's still fine.

Zeturic March 22nd, 2007 6:53 AM

Now? Is it still okay? I have a sinking feeling it's not.

Pazuzu March 22nd, 2007 7:00 AM

Yes, your signature is still fine, as none of the limits are exceeded in it.

Lunux March 22nd, 2007 9:31 AM

is mine ok? i think it's too big.

Nope, your Signature is completely fine.

viridian doubletongue March 22nd, 2007 10:28 AM

I have a question, which I just thought of asking, but has affected me in the past.

If you have a banner in your signature.. And it's over 500x300. But it's under 300x500. Get what I mean? It's like.. Portrait as opposed to landscape, as the majority of banners are. Is there any reason that you can't have that in your signature? The filesize would be just the same. I wondered, because I once had a banner like that and it was removed.

Signomi March 22nd, 2007 11:05 AM

If it's under 500x300 then it will be alright. However, 300x500 is exceeding the height limit by 200 pixels anyway. The sizes may be vice-versa but are not exempt from the rules. Regardless of any size your banner may be, if it exceeds the stated size limits then you have a problem.

Zeturic March 22nd, 2007 5:01 PM

How about now?
I really need to stop editing it so much.

You're starting to get on the large side now. Try merging your quotes into one, if you really want to have them, to reduce the amount of space they take up.

Is my signature oaky now?

That's not what I asked. I can read the rules. I'm just questioning them.

Still a bit large, but within the limits.

If you can read them, then you have answered your question yourself.
The rules have been set up to provide acceptable dimensions for all forum users.
For that reason, an acceptable height and width limit was agreed on, that's not too wide and not too tall, and makes scrolling of threads and posts still easy, but also provides the users enough space to use for their things.
It doesn't matter if you just switch around the dimensions of your banner, as you will exceed the height limit with it, which will get your sig disabled.
The filesize doesn't matter at the moment, though something might happen about too intense filesize banners in the future.

is my signature ok?
i think its not
it has an acquaini feeling into it

Sammi March 24th, 2007 10:03 AM

I think so, it's ten lines long on my screen. However, if you can, I'd get rid of some breaks/enters in your sig chain; that block of text is pretty large. x_x;

RYOUKI March 24th, 2007 10:09 AM

is that right well i still dont understand please explaine to me plss *my head hurts*

Sammi March 24th, 2007 10:15 AM

Breaks are when you hit the "enter" button. I can understand why you're confused. ^^; But by putting some text on the same line, it eliminates a line, and it'll make your signature smaller.

It'd be like this --

Thank you... I was not asking for a yes or no, I wanted a why. There was nothing in the rules to tell me what those decisions were based on. I don't actually want to have a banner of those dimensions, it was just a query. I'm sorry if I've annoyed anyone in asking or anything, but I just wanted to know. And I can be confusing sometimes. I don't try to be. I was curious.

Not quite, your images are exceeding the width limit by 100 pixel.
If you arrange them underneath each other, however, it will be fine.
