weird elite four!!!!!!

did you realized that Bruno's and Lance's of the elite four pokemon in gsc has a lower level than in rby? why did the makers of gsc put lower levels? this is weird for me! how about you?

Agent9 January 5th, 2006 7:08 PM

because it balances otu the game.

You can't raise a lv 50 pokemon by the time you reach the elite four. Unless you trade or cheat or rare candy.

dqle January 6th, 2006 4:46 AM

What are you talking about? Of course you can get to level 50 before reaching the Elite Four in any game without cheating or the usage of Rare Candies. The thing is though, you'd have to be willing to devote a lot of time doing so...

That and the Elite Four of Hoenn do take longer to get to than the other Elite Four's. That, and you're required to meet (and maybe capture) one legendary beforehand in Hoenn. (only exception is possibly Suicune in Crystal)

True. When I was at the Elite Four my Pokemon weren't even Lv.40.
Koga at least has stronger Pokemon.

Dragonite Tamer January 6th, 2006 10:15 AM

Don't forget that Kanto would be a walkover with higher level Pokemon.

saint jimmmey January 6th, 2006 11:10 AM

i think the rby elite four is the hardest in all the games so they probably wanted to make it easier in gsc

Libra Dyne January 6th, 2006 12:37 PM

because in gsc its harder to lvl up, for some anyway. like in ruby my zangoose that i used for awhile left at lvl 28. then befor the elite four i trained him to 66 in about 3 days

DarkThunder January 6th, 2006 2:09 PM

Actually the Elite Four in FR/LG is the hardest.Their Pokemon are over Lv.65.But this is Metal/Color Genoration Games.
Although Lance's 2 Dragonair from RBY Evolved into Dragonite but are at lower Levels. Not to mention that Dragonite Evolves at Level 55.But if his Pokemon were that strong it would take a while to beat him.

nukkuz January 11th, 2006 1:06 PM

hmmm what would be the BEST version when the emerald and diamond come out?

Wow she ether cheated or trained for a really long time. my reasoning for low level elite fours is because there is Kanto you have to go through. But I did have a Pokemon in level 60(Feraligatr) when I approached the E4

[email protected] [email protected] March 13th, 2006 10:24 PM

Well, my typhlosion reached at level 55 when i reached at the E4 in my Crystal version... I didn't cheated or trained my pokemon very long... If his mom has the G/S version then, she must have used the duplicate cheat to multiply her rare candies...

dqle March 14th, 2006 6:46 AM

Do you guys always accuse others cheating if they're at a higher level at an early part of the game? Man, it's always possible the person was just dedicated to training ya know!

But... That's nothing. Before I reached a gym in the Hoenn Region, I always capture a pair of all possible Pokémon at the time, and level them up to a certain level. (1st gym = 15, 2nd gym =20, 3rd gym = 25, etc.)

You guys have any idea how long that takes???

Eventually, I'd have a pair of each Pokémon at level 60 by the time I reach the Elite Four... (this was on Ruby)

That happend to alot of people. They get stuck somewhere and all they do is train there Pokemon. I did this once so I should know.

[email protected]_Uchiha March 19th, 2006 7:25 PM

That's true but, it's very hard and long to reach at Lv. 50 and above. In the R/B/Y, I got stuck in Victory Road and my Pokemon reach at level 70.

djvolcom March 19th, 2006 7:35 PM

when i played silver, it was very easy to lvl up, i got up to falker at like lvl 10, and at elite four around 35-45.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ March 26th, 2006 10:27 AM

It is kind of easy to that when you are in the begining of the game but it gets hard. Because the Pokemon are in higher levels and you might have to use 2 of the same move to knock it out. Then you start to struggle and if you lose all of your HP and items then you are screwed. But thats a good thing because you can get out of the cave and go to a Pokemon center.

Shining Salamence March 26th, 2006 5:56 PM

that's what happened to me in sapphire. Also some of my pokemon weren't quite high-level enough to battle E4 (Wailord was only L41, sceptile L43) so I lost at steven. It was really close tho, we were both at our last pkmn with a sliver of Hp left

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ March 27th, 2006 5:00 PM

Umm. This is GSC RBYG we are talking about. Thats like the only thing you can possibly do.

Cheeky Typhlosion March 27th, 2006 10:28 PM

I had no probs getting my Typhlosion up to the 60's in Gold. And he was able to take on the E4 first time all by himself with only 2 Full Restores. I didn't really train him though, I just completed all the events and, yeah.

Personaly i find all the Elite 4s easy. I train my Pokémon early in the game. Usualy i will train my starter to level 18 so it has evolved even before i go into viridian forest in FireRed. Then i train Pidgey to Pidgeotto in the forest, and a catch and train a Pikachu. When i come out of the forest, my starter will be at least level 22 lol. I just love to train. Although i must admit i do find the Hoenn League hard. I usualy get stuck on Drake's Salamence. Anywayz i always catch a Dratini in Dragon's Den and train it before i even think about challenging the League. I've had my rant now :)

This is the Metal and color Generation games Forum not FR/LG. Anyways sometimes alot of people do that, training there 1st 2 Pokemon to high levels.

As mentioned, the reason G/S are 40-50 while R/B are 50/60 is because of balance. I've never actually looked into it in-depth, but that's just how it turns up when you're ready for the E4. By the time I reached the Elite 4 in R/B, my pokemon were nearing or had reached the level of the E4's pokemon. And in G/S, yep they were all near or around level 40. I don't know whether there was just more trainers or Team rocket battles in R/B to advance from or what.

And about the level 60 Typholosion, I should ask what levels your other pokemon were. I always train my Pokemon in a balanced way, meaning all of them are usually the same level with my starter maybe 2-3 levels ahead. When I see people on message boards showing their teams, and it goes like "Level 64 Feraligatr, Level 22 Pidgeotto, Level 18 Rattata" and such, I cringe.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ March 30th, 2006 5:20 AM

A lot of people do that. Have their starter Pokemon 2-3 levels higher than the other Pokemon and the other Pokemon are about the same level. This is what certaingood trainers will do like me for example. Having a very high level Pokemon and the rest are very low is not really right.

:t003:Dark Venusaur

saint jimmmey April 7th, 2006 11:32 AM

yeah i agree i used to do that but your much less likely to get stuck if you train about 4-5 or 6 pokemon at roughly the same level

Cheeky Typhlosion April 8th, 2006 1:00 AM

I did not get stuck in a cave, I am a very, very patient trainer. When I faced the e4 I also had (these are close estimates) an Espeon lvl 55, a Togetic lvl 49, a Lickitung lvl 53, a Growlithe lvl 46 (I didn't have a Fire Stone 2 evolve it) and a Magby lvl 33 (its pretty low compared 2 the othas, but I woz workin on it at the time). But I didn't use ne of them. I only used Typhlosion. The moves it nose r: Flame Wheel, Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Cut.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ April 8th, 2006 10:41 AM

But sometimes its good to get stuck in a cave to train your Pokemon

:t003:Dark Venusaur

Cheeky Typhlosion April 9th, 2006 10:23 PM

Yeah i do admit it is, but how do u get stuck in a cave on purpose? ive gone thru the games that many times, i even no the e4s pokemon and there lvls off by hart.
