*EDIT* and the girl that tells u if your pkm likes u says: it seems to be very happy, it obviously likes u a whole lot.

First off, I don't think it is happy enough. That is the second to last statement the girl will say before the Poke's Happiness is maxed. The one you are looking for is the one where she says she is happy just looking at it. If that doesn't work, I would start over with a new Pichu.

Well I gave it lots of those calciums, irons and that other stuff and keep on training it without letting faint as much. I had the same problem but it was with a Cleffa it finally evolve in level 67.

Okay, here is some basic info about Happiness that you should know:

First, here is a list of the base Happiness ratings of all Pokemon. These are the first ratings the Pokemon get when you catch/hatch it:

Base 0 - Deoxys, Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Mewtwo, Rayquaza
Base 1-49 - Articuno, Absol, Aggron, Aron, Bagon, Banette, Beldum, Cacnea, Cacturne, Carvahna, Dragonair, Dragonite, Dratini, Dusclops, Duskull, Entei, Gardevoir, Houndoom, Houndour, Kirlia, Lairon, Larvitar, Metagross, Metang, Misdreavus, Moltres, Murkrow, Pupitar, Raikou, Ralts, Regice, Regirock, Registeel, Sableye, Salamence, Sharpedo, Shelgon, Shuppet, Sneasel, Suicine, Tyranitar, Umbreon, Zapdos
Base 50-99 - ALL OTHER POKEMON
Base 100-149 - Blissey, Celebi, Chansey, Clefable, Clefairy, Cleffa, Jirachi, Mew

There are ways to increase, or decrease, the Happiness points of your Pokemon:

Walk 256 steps - increases 1 point for all base levels
Give vitamins - increases 5 points for 0-99, 3 points for 100-199, and 2 points for 200-254
Important battle - increases 3 points for 0-99, 2 points for 100-199, and 1 point for 200-254
Level Up - increases 5 points for 0-99, 3 points for 100-199, and 2 points for 200-254
Pokemon faints - loses 1 point in all base levels
Energypowder - loses 5 points for 0-199, and 10 points for 200-249
Heal Powder - loses 5 points for 0-199, and 10 points for 200-249
Energy Root - loses 10 points for 0-199, and 15 points for 200-249
Revival Root - loses 15 points for 0-199, and 29 points for 200-249

There are also a few items that will help increase the way Pokemon earn Happiness points:

Soothe Bell - increases the rate of gaining Happiness points by 50%
Gorgeous Ball - catching a Pokemon in this ball will double the Happiness points your Poke gets from leveling up, walking, and using it in an important battle.

Now, there are a lot of myths about Happiness. The following myths have no effect on a Pokemon's Happiness rating:

- Healing a weak Pokemon
- Giving a Pokemon a hold item (that isn't called Soothe Bell)
- Putting a Pokemon in a PC
- Winning regular battles with a Pokemon
- Letting the Pokemon's HP drop to a critical level
- Walking when your Pokemon has a status effect

IMPORTANT: Any time you trade a Pokemon, its Happiness rating drops down to 70. Avoid that at all possible, either before your Happiness training, or after.

In Emerald there are also Berries that will increase the Happiness rating of your Pokemon. I am not positive at what the increase is, but I would assume that it is similar to vitamins. Here is the list of the Berries that will increase the Happiness of your Pokemon:

Pomeg - Lowers HP EV by 10 and increases Happiness
Kelpsy - Lowers ATT EV by 10 and increases Happiness
Qualot - Lowers DEF EV by 10 and increases Happiness
Hondew - Lowers SA EV by 10 and increases Happiness
Grepa - Lowers SD EV by 10 and increases Happiness
Tamato - Lowers SPEED EV by 10 and increases Happiness

Keep in mind that I only know these berries work in Emerald.

Hope this helps you, or at least others that aren't familiar with Happiness. Personally, I would advise that you start over with your Pichu. Hatch a new one and apply these correct principles and your Happiness should be high enough to evolve by Lv10. Good luck.

You don’t have much longer to go. Just keep on training it, give it some vitamins (I’d only give it Calcium, Carbos, and Protein. It doesn’t need HP or defenses during a battle).
That Pichu has some pretty good moves. I’m guessing you want a Raichu on your team? Anyways, once you get Focus Punch, replace Submission with Substitute to get a SubPunch
combo.
