Having a little trouble choosing!
Hi everyone (again)
I'm having a little trouble choosing my team. I'm known at my school for being a Dragon Master Trainer, as nearly all my teams on my games are dragon types. But on my Emerald I'm a little attatched to my Sceptile, Fracshun, but I wanted to have my other Dragonite in my party. Should I keep my Sceptile or not? lugia_lover + Silverwing |

Not only can it learn the TM Dragon Claw, but you can get the move Dragonbreath through breeding. Not as strong as DC, but it is another alternative if you don't have that TM anymore.
As for keeping Sceppy or not, I guess it depends on how much you want an ALL Dragon team or a more effective one. Sceppy is fast and counters Swampert very well, who is pretty devastating to the rest of your team. Another option might be Kingdra. Dragon/Water-type removes the obvious Ice-type weakness, but doesn't fix your Swampert weakness. |
lugia isn't realy a dragon so why would you have problems with sceptile.
and basicly any stage 3 pokemon with claws can learn dragon claw....so i'd stick (and why do u need another dragonite?i find teams with the same pokemon boring) |
try to get the TM drangon claw insteed
|
Sorry....Dude. DO NOT KEEP SCEPTILE!!!!! I started out with a Treecko Which quickly evovled into Sceptile. But, I made a big Mistake!!!!! Please do not keep it, because if you do, you are making a big mistake! If you replace it, please replace it with a Altaria. Altaria is a strong pokemon and it has alot of HP. It is also hard to knock out unless you are facing a Dragon-Type. You can find it on the 5th floor of the Sky Pillar or you can evolve a Swablu. So, please replace Sceptile and if you do, please replace it with a Altaria!!!!!
|
No, that is a horrible idea. Even though Altaria is a little tankish, that 4x weakness to Ice cancels that right out. Again, keep Sceppy. You can switch it in against Swampert (or any other Ice threat) and its speed allows it to usually attack first.
|
Dragonclaw is like the best against dragon tpyes considering Sceptile is probably faster than all of them completely. Altaria can get knocked out by any Icemove unless the Pokemon is not strong enough or the move just sucks.

Do not keep Sceptile!!!!! Shanecdavis is right about Altaria
so switch it with Gyarados. He is a good Pokemon and it is only weak to thunder type. So switch Sceptile!!!!! With Gyarados!!!!! |
What is with you guys...sceptile is a great pokemon and also more than good enough to be used extensivly in competitive play. I would switch dragonite for gyarados personally, but then you are using a theme team.
Why would you use altaria??Its just ANOTHER liability to ice moves, and really not even an option imo. |

BTW - Gyarados is also weak to Rock-type moves. |

What are you talking about, ChanseysCharizard? Sceptile is a great Pokemon, one of the best Grass types out there. You probably taught your Sceptile bad moves and that’s why you didn’t like it. Altaria is alright, but it’s no where near as strong as Salamence or Dragonite. I say go for it, lugia lover, use Sceptile on your team. It’s not a Dragon type, but it does look like a dragon doesn’t it? I mean, Sceptile and Charizard are way more dragon-like than cloud bird Altaria and drunken sea horse Kingdra. ~*^*~~*^*~ ~*^*~~*^*~ ~*^*~~*^*~ |
altaria is rubbish i hate it...i'd either stick or swith with something that looks like a dragon but that isn't week to ice (carizard??) but i'm no expert on dragons...
|
Actually, Scpetile is a great Pokemon. It only weak about flying, fire, and ice type moves. But, it has no potential moves. The only powerful moves it learn is only Slam and Leaf Blade. If you want to keep Sceptile as your team, you can give it another moves by using TM.
Dragonite is no too bad as a Dragon Pokemon. It has a high defense and HP. But, you must teach it another move. Dragonite only weak about Ice and Dragon type move. Dragonite and Sceptile are strong depends on its enemy. If can raise both of them, you can beat more pokemon easily. :) |
You should keep Sceptile. I love mine to bits, and I never usually use grass pokemon. Having a Sceptile on your team would make it easier to defeat all of your enemies, 'cause it has different strengths and whatever. Go for sceppy!

KEEP THE SCEPTILE.
Yeah and what happends if you bring out the Gyrardos and the other Pokemon has an electric move. excatly and like I said before with the Altaria and the Ice attacks not good on Altaria's part. :t003:Dark Venusaur |
i have to go with Dark Venasaur. Keep the Sceptile, they're great! Altaria and Gyarados both have 4x weaknesses, and that is a major no-no. If you have to switch, go with Latios. It has nice, solid stats and good moves like dragon breath, luster purge, and psychic. I don't know if you like to use too many legendaries, though.
|
Just do what Milotic<3 said. Especially with the Latias its Stats are really good. (well mines are). If you listen to anyone else that doesn't agree watch what will happen
:t003:Dark Venusaur |
Whats your Sceptile's move set
|
It should have Dragon Claw and Leaf Blade for one thing.
:t003:Dark Venusaur |
sceptile wouldn't be the best choice since, like the rest of ur team, it's weak to ice. I'd go with a fighting-type. Rock wouldn't be as good since many ice types know water moves that could crush rock types, so stick to fighting. If not, i'd get another Dragonite and maybe teach it a rock-type move like rock slide or maybe brick break to counter ice-types. also you could teach salamence flamethrower. that's what i did.
Dragons are awesome dude, they're tanks! |
This goes in Movesets

Good luck with a team of all pokemon weak to ice
|
i know your a dragon type trainer but if you carn't part with sceptile then dont
