Wait...you mean in the beginning of Pokemon Advanced? 3 years...hmm...I don't remember it saying that, but Iguess it does make sense...6 seasons=3 years
rather than 6 seasons=2 years. Then that would reason why Ash has become more mature in Advanced Generation. Stupidty=lower ^^ such as the comparison with the reactions on love---Ash asks the naive question that when people kiss they change and Misty returns the question by saying that "We'll just have to find out..." and Ash looks dumbfounded [nidoran(m)+nidoran(f) episode]; where as when May talks about the love between those two people in the Volbeat+Illumise Episode, and Ash says "Love?", where May replies "YOU'LL understand when your older (haha--although Ash IS older--he's 13 for heaven's sake!)" and then Ash sighly says "oh boy" (maturely) ;) Do you guy's also see the change in Ash's maturity level?

NEW UPDATE ON THE AGES SPECTRUM:
Ash: 13 (Say's he's 3 years older than he was when started (10 yrs.))
Misty: 15 (2 years older than Ash, 5 years older than May ;))
Brock:17 OR 18 (4 years older than Ash, 2 years than Misty)
May: 10 (3 YEARS YOUNGER! ...she's pretty grown...)
Max: 8 (2 years younger than May (only makes sense)
Team Rocket: 19-20 (3 years have past and the artist said they were 17
when the journey began for Ash)

Ok! New Misty Topic!

Do you think Misty will come back for Togetic?
Sadly, I dun think so -_-

~Ozy~ November 7th, 2004 10:34 AM

I sincerely hope not. Togepi was an evil leech creature who ruined Misty. Togetic, if anything, would be a worse drain on Misty.

sly_74 November 7th, 2004 11:37 AM

No, but she should. I really love Togetic, and I would like to see it again. :)

Water Pokemon Master November 7th, 2004 1:26 PM

evil leech? I think Togepi allowed Misty to mature and all that, but that's just IMHO

~Ozy~ November 7th, 2004 3:01 PM

Do read, please:

Quietly fishing in the forest after running away from her three horrible sisters in Cerulean City, young Misty's life was thrown into turmoil when a brave figure burst through the greenery clutching a half dead Pikachu and stole her bike. Taken completely by surprise and also taken with the heroic figure this young man initially presented, Misty was left stranded in the forest.

Tracking down her stolen bike, she found it a melted slag and finally snapped after years of psychological abuse at the hands of her sisters.

Tracking the young man to Viridian City Poke-Center, Misty found the young boy (Ash), Nurse Joy (Nurse Joooy!) and herself under seige by Team Rocket and the world's happiest (and best) Pokemon - Koffing.

Misty, the Shreiking Maiden, helped Ash fight them off until a recovered Pikachu blasted the (then) sinister Team Rocket away and destroyed the Center in the process.

Unable to help herself despite discovering Ash to be younger than herself and not half as dramatic and take-charge as she'd first thought, Misty was falling head over heels in love, but managed to fight off the impulse thanks to Ash's incredibly annoying behavior and attitude.

Reminding herself that he owed her a bike, Misty used this as an excuse to follow the young boy across the countryside, taking every opportunity in those early days to hug and rub against him.

Meeting Brock, she discovered another mysterious, dark stranger, this one much more handsome than Ash and also older than herself.

However his only interest seemed to be in mothering Ash and he soon proved to be almost as immature as Ash in some occasions, most notably when bumping into a Nurse Joy (Nurse Joooy!) or Officer Jenny.

A red head, her fiery temper often matches her hair color. She is far from a 'perfect' character, often beating her Pokemon (Psyduck) or out and out abandoning them (A Mermaid Tale) and also giving the two boys their licks as well (getcha mind outta da gutta!).

An outstanding feature of hers is she is an extremely strong female character, like Jesse, much like a boy, which is why she is hassled alot by Ash for acting like a boy.

However that was first series Misty, we must now note about second series Misty

A moment of silence in memory of Misty.

She was brash, outspoken and almost always positively cheerful.
She didn't stand for fools, she never allowed an insult to go unpunished, she knew she was beautiful, she could make you feel alive with a smile and lower than low with a frown.

Gone now, maybe forever.

The villain behind this dark disapperance?

Togepi.

Discovered by Ash, cared for by Brock, the Freaky Little Egg Thingy hatched and instantly latched itself onto Misty, spying in her an almost infinite supply of powerful, vibrant life energy for the vile Energy Leech.
Saddled with the monster, her mind psychically attacked so that she thinks she loves it, Misty has had that vitality and life-energy ripped from her very body by the vile monstrosity that is Togepevil.

Witness Misty's reaction whenever Togepi is gone. She becomes worried, concerned, unable to think straight unless she can get her hands back onto the heartless abortion of a Pokemon.
The standard reaction of a caring Mother, isn't it?

Yes.... BUT NO!

This reaction is a result of the psychic residue of Togepi's energy leech. When physical contact is broken and Togepi is no longer able to suck her very life-force from the red-head, an emergency psychic implant in Misty's head makes her anxious and confused, breaking down into tears and blindly attempting to re-establish said physical contact.

In some cases, however, this vile psychic link has been broken, such as in Misty Meets Her Match, when Rudy makes Misty so happy that she forgets all about the nasty little Egg Bastard.

However, in the end, the little bastard always gets it's claws back into poor little Misty and drags her back down. How long can she possibly withstand the monstrous might of the vile Vampire Pokemon?
Her core personality, that brash, outspoken and almost always positively cheerful Red-Head, has kept her from collapsing in a coma or out and out dying for a long time now, but even she can't defeat Togepi's constant leeching of her life-force forever.

Unless of course, a certain emotionally crippled little Action Hero takes matters into his own hands or a certain tanned, toned and squinty-eyed Gym Leader returns to wreak vengeance on the monster that is hurting his friend.

Or maybe we'll just get lucky and Chubbo will sit on it.

Hey, it was my IMO. I don't mind others opinions, and maybe next time you could explain it in your own words :P

~Ozy~ November 7th, 2004 6:44 PM

Eh, I was lazy when I posted that. But you can have you opinion if you want.

even if it is wrong...j/k

But I. for one, am glad to see the demon-leech gone.

asher_son_of_ash November 8th, 2004 1:18 AM

Me, too. Even though I'm glad Togetic is gone, however it got kinda boring without it. o.O; "it'

From the fourth opening(US). Misty looks cool.

LanceLite November 9th, 2004 5:53 AM

im back.... again.... *everyone facefalls*

i read it all ... all the pages from my last post. looks like its proved that misty IS older than ash... but that other bio was cool. i never looked at togepi as an evil leechy thingy from outer space with a spiky brain to suck out other people's thoughts and stuff....

KAWAII!!! where do u's GET all those pics?

~Ozy~ November 9th, 2004 1:59 PM

Just a Google search can get some good pics.

I'll join in the picture-posting now with...

Tkinc November 9th, 2004 2:08 PM

(laughs) ^-^

I thought relatively the same thing. It made Misty mature of course, but she began to looses her sense of true "personality". Yet, doesn't Misty remind you somewhat like Pikachu is with Ash? The only difference is, is that Ash and pikachu are friends, and pikachu is HIDEOUSLY STRONG, while that leechy togepi (togetic now) is like a mommy's boy/girl, sucking all of the personalty out of young maiden Misty

Water Pokemon Master November 9th, 2004 4:03 PM

I see...
interesting...

I've been wondering this question...if Misty is only 12 years old...well...why does she have...a bust?

~Ozy~ November 9th, 2004 5:46 PM

Fanservice. same reason why May looks like she's 16. It all comes down to fanservice.

Berkut Nightwolf November 9th, 2004 8:37 PM

Gotta love that fan-service! However, I've heard many possibilities and theories on this topic, and some of them have actual relevance and rationality behind them. I definatly do not want to have to discuss them though. I like Misty because of her personality, and not because of any...additional features...

pokeknight November 9th, 2004 8:47 PM

HEY! I think in other way.

I don't think togepi dide only took misty's personality away but it also helped her to be sensitive and caring about others though its right that togepi has been a cause that Misty has been losing her personality but its upto those annoying writers that they made the story go like that. They have always treated Misty as an unneccessary character. That's why she hadn't got any new pokemon during the whole season 3.

LanceLite November 9th, 2004 11:51 PM

wha..? whats fanservice anyway? here's all of my true opinions for misty.

misty was like just a mother for a lil kid when togepi was there. only a FEW times misty showed interest in looking at togepi as a pokemon for battle and not as a pet. that was in the orange islands. in MOST episodes that have misty as the main character have it like she's the one who has to take care of little babies and stuff and care for kids and stuff.

one epi had ash and tracy all sick and she had to go get medicine for them. here she found poliwag. she took care of it and captured it (with love).
other epis had marills and togepies and stuff where she has to take care of them and get them back to their trainers and stuff. when brock was gone during the OI i believe that it was she who did all the cooking and stuff.

so ........ i think that kind of that she's a copy of brock for caring for people... and thats all she was there for for some time.

in the beginning tho... i wont say anything good. in the early seasons of pokemon.. all anime's need some minor romantic stuff to make it seem- ANIME-LIKE.... something like that. even in Digimon's early seasons..... see Sora was like... had to be brought back by Taichi and stuff. Takero (im using japanese names k?) said stuff to her like "u remind me of my mom so i dont feel scared when ur here" and stuff. here in pokemon Kasumi is just there kind of to fill in for brock when hes gone and .... as the usual kind of girl needed for the minor romance fill-ups in some episodes.

in one OI epi that Gym Leader guy falls in love with kasumi. its HERE that kasumi forgets all about togepi... (true- the leech went away and she got her REAL personality back) shes in thoughts for ash and the other guy. here theres a handsome guy and a lil girl (the guy's sister) who needs to be taken care of. on the other side there's ash and... togepi. She decides she'll go back with ash cos togepi's there... and she knows them LOT better. i believe in this place she knew she would have had a happier life if she stayed with the Gym Leader guy.

she finally begins to hate traveling around and takes the first chance to go back to the gym in cerulean. the next chance the takes was releasing togepi. she goes back to the gym, determined not to travel with ash anymore... since that red girly-girl is with him now anyway. once again she's her old true self.....

well... thats just my opinions. its all muddled up... but thats my way of speaking out.

Chairman Kaga November 10th, 2004 1:53 PM

Ah, I might as well come in here and give my opinion. This seems to be one of the more lively Misty-related debates we’ve had here in a while. So, without further ado, CK’s opinion:

Togepi destroyed Misty. I have no doubt in my mind that it was, as many say, a leech, which rapidly drained the otherwise-lively tomboy into the most generic form of a sweet, obedient girl with no mind to do anything but hone her maternal skills on that egg while being Ash’s peanut gallery, except with even less value to her opinions. I don’t know what the writers’ were thinking...maybe they thought that a newer, more vapid Misty would attract the enormous droves of tween girls who could relate to Misty into the pokemon fanbase. It was a poor move, as it attracted no one and ended up repelling many, as Misty increasingly became little more than background female character, a reason to plug Togepi every week, as Ash’s dual purpose is to plug Pikachu, two pokemon that are supposed to be representative of the series and thus sell merchandise. The plot to change Misty’s personality aside, Togepi’s second purpose was a lot like May’s single purpose: to sell games. Togepi plugged GS, May plugged RS. Interesting...when they plug something, it usually seems to affect Misty. It’s quite unfortunate.

I never liked Togepi, personally. I admit that Who Gets to Keep Togepi? was the most exciting pokemon event that had happened when it aired, but the afterglow of having a mysterious, new pokemon soon disappeared, leaving the weekly drudgery of Misty constantly having to attend to the egg. Every little affectionate giggle that came from that most-beloved character made me sick, every sign of affection for Togepi. Her vigor was now nonexistent, her beautifully-tempestuous demeanor replaced with a personality supposedly more becoming of a young teenage girl. She was the Stepford Misty. I can’t remember more than a couple times after that blasted episode where the vile creature hatched that Misty ever put it down, example being the episode on Trovita Island, cited multiple times in preceding posts. She could not let it out of her sight, so unlike the the old her, when she would have fierily and enthusiastically taught Togepi to be a fighter, a survivor. Instead of Misty rubbing off on Togepi, Togepi rubbed off on Misty, and it went on far too long.

This is not to say that it was right for Misty to have been taken out of the show. Any of you who know anything about me should know my opinion on this matter. We Misty fans always had the memory of the past and hope for the future, hope that was sustained even more by Gotta Catch Ya Later, in which Misty was back to her old, emotional, free-thinking self. Combine that with the fact that the wretched egg is gone for good, and this means that if (and hopefully when) Misty comes back, she will be the old Misty that we cared about, fine-tuned even more by the more mature characteristics that have been subtly endowed on the other characters, minus the children of Norman, of course. For the present, we have realized that even though Togepi was the bane of many Misty-lovers, Misty with Togepi was better than no Misty at all. We’ve something much more hideous than Togepi ever was on our hands, sucking the life out of the entire anime instead of just one character. I sincerely hope for restitution for our being made to be without Misty for so long, in the form of a restored Misty traveling with (and antagonizing) Ash again. Togepi had no shred of good in it, though, allow me to reiterate. Making Misty sweeter is never a good thing, and above that it made her have no flavor at all. Seeing a tomboy become motherly is painful, especially when it dilutes the quality of the show as a whole. Can the show recover? Yes. Will it? That remains to be seen.

~CK

Fanservice indeed. Although rationally, girls are developing at a faster rate these days...

Berkut Nightwolf November 10th, 2004 4:08 PM

...
...
...Yes, fanservice...

Good essay, CK. My thoughts exactly. Except that I see no hope for the future. The television show is so screwed up already in my opinion, that I just can't see anything new or good to come out of it.

~Ozy~ November 10th, 2004 7:21 PM

It depends. If they were to return Ash to Kanto in a FR/LG plug, things could improve. But I doubt that'll happen. They'll probably move on to Pearl/Diamond and slaughter the show entirely.

pokeknight November 10th, 2004 9:58 PM

Good fanservice and pics

It's good that everybody here wants Misty to remain as a tomboy. In my thinking it is good that togepi is good but it's not better for misty to be out of show on the arms of a gymleader and caring that fool sister of him.Nor it will be good that she stays in cerulean gym caz she is one of the main characetr of the show and she is a girl for whom the small area of a gym is not enough. It's better for her to move on and be as strong as she can be with a lot of pokemons and can develop her image as a very strong trainer. IU never personally like her being shown as a shadow of "ASH KETCHUM." The writers have always treated her in a bad way and for that i will always curse them.Anyway like everyone else here i hope that in her next return she will be a very strong trainer with her old personality back.
Anyway, the pics posted are real cool.

Sorry guys but i was out in vacation and couldn't post. I liked those huge posts though i couldn't understand much of them. lol. :D
