No I don't think they should, or else Square-enix will get a horde of mad hardcore gamers trampling their doors for no reward doing it the hard way. It's a smart and brilliant move. You always get gamers who complain about going through quests to make insanely powerful characters, and yet there is no worthy enemies to use the powerful character on. The other complain is how you only get a pointless item that "proves" your success. A bonus trailer as a reward is a brilliant marketing move beyond comparison.

I couldn't agree more. To be honest, I didn't like Mandy Moore too much in the first game. In fact.. I didn't like her at all.

But after hearing Mena Suvari's version of Aerith, I WISH Mandy would come back. She's far better then Mena is. When he first heard Aerith's new voice, my brother oh-so-eloquently put it; " She sounds like she came out of a food processor." XP

I also agree about Ansem's new voice... His first one fit him so well.

I think that both Roxas and Axel have good voice actors, as well. It took me a while to get used to Axel's, because I kind of expected it to sound deeper, but now I think it's perfect!

I saw a bunch of people bashing Haley Joel Osment for his voice, and I was all "What on earth?!". For one thing, he couldn't stop his voice from changing, and another, I think he's incredible in this game.

Hayden Penettiere hasn't changed much in sound, but she's gotten better at acting for sure =3

I love Axel's voice! There's something about it that's echoey and drawling about it, and I love it! He's such a redeemed character <3 I never hated him, but I never thought I'd love him.

And as for Roxas, I NEVER expected Jesse McCartney to pull it off o o;; I cringed when I read that he would be doing Roxas's voice, honestly. But I ended up loving it XD

I've beaten the game, but I haven't completed Jiminey's Journal yet.. I think I'm far from that ^^;;

My biggest problems would definitely be the Poster Duty and Junk Sweep in Twilight Town.

So now, at nearly the end of the game, with my journal nearly full, I've got to effing do it all over again on another difficulty just to see the blasted video. ARGH!

Is the bolded part of the above quote true? Because if it is, I think spending another 45+ hours going through the game again would be easyer than fighting Sephiroth. So it it true? Please, let it be true. (Can't win battle against Sephy for my life, not even in the first game!)

Of course, so they shouldn't be bashing him for something that he can't help! I think that it fits just fine, because it's not like Sora hasn't grown any, either. I can really tell that Haley's acting has improved in this game.

And I agree, although she definitely sounds more mature now!

I know, I love it, too! XD It goes just perfectly with the attitude that he has. I was also like that when I was playing CoM... I kind of disliked him because he seemed so mean, but after playing KH2 my opinion totally changed. He's so funny and amusing to watch. I think that getting to hear his voice and see more realistic expressions from him made a big difference. Now he's definitely one of my favorite characters!

Oh, I know! O_o I did the exact same thing. I just couldn't get past the fact that he was a pop star. I didn't even want to imagine him as Roxas. But now I think he's perfect for the role!

And ugh, I was horrible at all of the Twilight Town mini games. XD *sigh*

Actually, my friend, you're in luck. Secret ending.

But yes, the only way to truly continue is.. a prequel, which I would enjoy to see. Such as the Thirteenth Order as humans, find out more about them before they became Nobodies. See Ansem the Wise before his life became shambles.

Most importantly, see the birth of the keyblades; the war which was born from it and more. I think the idea of a prequel is truly remarkable, as long as its path isn't along the same stride as Devil May Cry's franchise; if Kingdom Hearts ends after the prequel, all will be fine.

Am i the only one that have been stuck in this game on the Tarzan isle? I remember i gave up, and returned to the game some months afterwards....i just couldn't understand what to do, and when i finally found out how simple it was i became angry....so typical=)

Cherrim April 10th, 2006 6:02 PM

Mm, in the first one? Heh, I didn't get stuck in the Tarzan world, but I remember I skipped something in Wonderland...I think...so I couldn't progress for a while and I got really confused. The fact that I played a few hours into the game and couldn't play it again for almost a year due to the fundamental lack of a PS2 probably contributed to the confusion though. XD;

I do do that sometimes in games though...I overthink my missions and then forget them altogether and get really annoyed when it turns out to be easy. XD

Yeh, and when you are really stuck for a long time, the game's getting boring. And it's so freakin frustrating when you find out how easy it actually was after ? hours-_-

Ugh, I always thought that Wonderland was such a boring level in the first game. XD I also wonder why the Hundred Acre Woods is a level on every single game, even CoM? Besides getting some good items, there really isn't any point to it, even though all of the characters are cute.

And there's never really been a point in any of the games where it took me forever to get past a certain level or whatever... but then again, I have the strategy guides for all of them. o_o *gets booed at* I got the Limited Edition one for KH2, and I haven't used it to cheat at all, though! I just wanted it for the pictures. <3

Naminé April 11th, 2006 8:03 PM

If you really need strategy guides (and for some games it's too tempting not to use them, or it's plain old beyond my ability), then I'll rather go to gamefaq over using money to buy an "official" strategy guide anyday. Though the official stuff looks better and got pretty pictures, its info compare to fan made guides simply pale in comparison.

Wonder when will Disneyland in Japan build a "Castle Oblivion" ride? (or simply a Kingdom Hearts one, but I'll much rather prefer it to be Castle Oblivion due to the simple direct connections with Naminé that the castle shares)

ENVY ENVY ENVY.

But um, going into Kingdom Hearts...is it just me, or does anyone else notice how sappy and uke Sora is with his reuinon with Riku? He hugs Kairi as if nothing has happened, but when he sees Riku he breaks down and cries D: I think I heard shonnen-ai fangirls screaming when I got to that cutscene.

Zelos April 12th, 2006 12:48 PM

*Reads over and notices things about the game...skips over them*

Anyway, I'm hoping to get this game today. My brother's going to a Target in a nearby town, and I asked him to see if they had it. Just in case they did, I gave him $50 to get it for me. XD

That plus the ending with all it's sappy glory =O Sora and Riku turned all mushy sappy on us, what the heck happened?! The manly-man reunion I expected from them went flying out the window.

But still, it was rather touching to see so much emotion from Sora ^^ I rather like Sora and Riku friendshippiness.

Yep, the ending was awsome! Though I would expect a bigger reaction from Sora when he found out about Roxas being inside him...At least I would have spazzed out or SOMETHING other than toutct my heart and go 'woah' -.-'

Is there any place that has it other than Youtube? Because, you know, streaming isn't exactly a good thing with dial-up. The Digimon Savers trailer (14 seconds) took me 20 minutes to stream.

Oh, and Lady Demoonica, I've seen it listed on many sites and in publication that that is true, so if it isn't, it's a widespread lie.

Hence why fanfiction.net for Kingdom Hearts is completely dominated by Yaoi if there's to be any romance in them... I want to see just ONE hetero-fanfic for Kingdom Hearts, and that can't be accomplished without scrolling at least couple of pages there.

All the girls really get ignored in Kingdom Hearts. Kairi the main heroine is basically absent in Kingdom Hearts 1, and isn't there at all for Chain of Memories. Naminé gets half of the fun in Chain of Memories and played a (in my biased opinion) rather important role in Kingdom Hearts 2, yet somehow her fanbase is small and dying... On the other hand, countless fanclubs of random yaoi Kingdom Hearts shipping out there. What's with that?

Arcanine April 13th, 2006 12:22 PM

Well a few hours ago I beat KH2. A 2 week wait was good enough for me (it was just too easy). Good ending, good plot twists, great great great story line. I love KH2, it was well worth the wait. Now I need to beat 100% of the game (or beat it in hard mode) to get the other ending. Not that the ending I got right now isn't good, it does leave the door open for a KH3 (I would have died if the ended was where Sora and Riku were stuck in that darkness place. The place where Sora got his message in a bottle from Kairi). I just hope that Square doesn't make everyone wait years and years for their next KH game (and there will be more KH games).

Jet Enduro April 13th, 2006 12:35 PM

I'd doubt that they would begin a project for KH3 on the PS2, with PS3's arrival and all :E

Naminé April 13th, 2006 12:46 PM

According to Square-Enix website, Kingdom Hearts is going to be one of their "3 main pillar" games (one of the other is Final Fantasy, and I forgot which series make up the last pillar.) I'm sure that there's going to be further additions to Kingdom Hearts. The only thing that's worth questioning is if KH3 is going to revolve around these characters again.

It won't be on the PS2, a lot of games is being pushed to the PS3 (like FFXIII, I think Square said that FFXII will be the last FF game on the PS2). But, what I do know is that we will see more KH games out there, as said in the link below.

Dragon Quest is their other big thing (FF is larger then DQ out of Japan, and in Japan DQ is larger then FF).
To me looks like they'd have to have ties to the ones from KH/Com/KH2. I mean how many out there would go "This is great!!!" if they found out that Sora, Riku, Kairi and the others didn't have a part in the game? They'd be killing a lot of their fanbase right there.
In some ways I like Roxas better then Sora, and sometimes I wish I had Riku and Roxas apart of my team and not going to say "Down with Donald and Goofy!!!", because they're apart of the game and it just wouldn't be right. So if Square went out and made a whole new game that has "Kingdom Hearts" on it yet the characters from the last ones not on it then it'd hurt them.
But I wouldn't mind a KH game that has Roxas and Naminé and the game be about them two. KH/2 the story is around Sora and getting back to Kairi (even more so in KH2). So why not have a KH game where Roxas and Naminé are the main ones (as well as others) in the game? And since the Blu-Ray CDs hold so much I'd like to see a dual KH game (sort of like KH: CoM, you had Sora's story line and you had Riku's). One storyline ties with Sora and the gang, and another ties with Roxas and Naminé etc (I know their parts on KH2 were short lived but I'd like to see more about them two). It'd be so great if they did something like that for the next KH game.

I hope you guys got all that. XD

I'm simply too much in a daze and happiness to read the rest of your message after that point. I apologize.

That's rather difficult though. After Naminé's "creation" she's almost immediately abducted to Castle Oblivion to carry on with Chain of Memories section of the game. Roxas's story got picked up pretty early on too by Kingdom Hearts 2 and Ansem Reports. The only room for that is how did Roxas join 13th Order, and what he (and Naminé) do before that point. There's little room for development there, I'm afraid.

As long as Naminé gets more of the spotlight, I'm happy with it.

(Just like how Roxas > Sora, Naminé > Kairi. Those two do need a little game together. It'll be so cute. Roxas x Naminé!)

Jet Enduro April 13th, 2006 3:09 PM

Squaresoft can always throw in a plot twist that seperates Roxas and Namine from Kairi and Sora. Not the first time Kingdom Hearts would pull something like that.

Predicting its plot is fairly difficult IMO :\

The S April 13th, 2006 6:31 PM

Yaoi fangirls will use anything as an excuse to get two guys to get their shwerve on together.

It's not SquareSoft anymore. XD
But yea, Square does do good on plot twists (FFX had sooooooooo many twists in it). They really could pull something off to make Roxas and Naminé split off from Sora and Kairi.
