Esmerald rom Battery

Hi there, i have the pokemon esmerald rom but whenever i open it, the following message appears: "The save file has been erased due to corruption or damage. The internal battery has gone dry.The game can be played.However,clock-based events will no longer occur."

Can anyone tell me how to solve this and get the clock going ?
tks

um...ok if u'r playing it on VBA (visual boy advance)
if you have one of the more recent versions.
go in the Option menu then Emulator
and then select Real Time Clock that makes it so
the time events work in ruby/sapphire/emerald and any other
games which have timed events in them.

if that doesn't fix the problem then there's probably something
wrong with the rom you downloaded, so get rid of it.

Ok, thanks

if you mean in the game, I don't think that's possible but you
could try doing it in the character's room.
if you for some reason forgot to do it when u started your game.
but I don't even know if that's possible.
