Wierd problem trading pkmn....

OK, well. On my fire red version, I have an eevee I want to trade to my saphire version. I've gotten to the point (after beating the elite 4) where you find the ruby and saphire for the guy, and you give them to him. Then you can trade to Hoenn, it the R/S games. right? right. So I've done that, and I should be able to trade the eevee to my saphire. But every time I try to trade them, nothing happens. at all. it goes to where it says "please wait, b button cancel" and it stops there. there's nothing wrong with the cord thing; I can trade using the same cord through my other games, but not these two. And it will just sit there, on the "please wait" sign for EVER unless I hit B. It wont close the link ever. Even if I unplug the cord, it still stays there like that. Its very strange, and I don't know what else to do. I have tried EVERYthing (that I can think of); what else can I do?

somthing like this happened to me,but it was my emerald trying to trade with my freinds r/s.nothing was wrong with the cord, but it would stay on the 'please wait,B button cancel',just like you.we could cancel though,it would stay on please wait forever unless we pressed B.

so i cant really help.

aw. :( I've also tried it on the other.. um.. systems, I guess you would say. I'd been doing the trading on my SP and GBA, so I decided to try it on the gamecube. You know, with the attachment that lets you play gameboy games on it? yeah that one. It didn't work then either. So from process of elimination, I figure it must be the games. Does anyone else know what I can do/ what the problem is?

What type of GBA link cable are you using? Is it an Official Nintendo Cable?
I tend not to use second party equipment in case things like this happen. I think it might be that.

I don't think its the type of cable, I always buy unoffical cables because the Nintendo one's are waay too expensive. Like the offical one's are £12 but the unoffical one's are about £5. And my unoffical one works with trading Leaf green and Emerald.

Well I know the cable works, because I use it to trade with other things and it works then. It's not nintendo's, but it is a GBA/GBC cable. I heared sometihng about updating to the national pokedex in R/S for it to work, but I don't think you can. Is that true?

did u get the national dex in saphire cuz i think u need it to trade

Keruri June 25th, 2006 5:04 PM

hm, well idk. But even now, I just got emerald. I have the national pokedex in it, and also in fire red, and I can't trade between them either. It's almost like its all GBA games, which is wierd since its a GBA cable, bt it only works with GBC games it seems.

TogepiII June 25th, 2006 5:53 PM

It must be your cable =/ Or the National Pokedex

Keruri June 25th, 2006 6:33 PM

eh, who knows.... but I'm really sad since now I won't ever be able to complete my pokedex on any GBA game :(
