How To Recognize A Noob

How To Recognize A Noob
By: Firebolt5

Noobs, noobs, noobs! They come everyday to PC. How can you recognize a noob in the Pokemon GB Strategies and Movesets Forum? Let's run down the basics.

Hyper Beam

There are some noobs that never shut up about Hyper Beam. "Its da bestest move in da world!" they say. Its really pathetic.

Two Turn Moves

They might suggest Dive or Fly as a move. That's a noob right there. Normal trainers don't do that. They only do it to HM slaves.

Double Team

Noobs at one point usually get obsessed with making themselves unable to be hit. That just doesn't cut. I wish they'd realized that.

Just Plain Stupid Moves!

They might have Splash on Gyarados, Tackle on Blastoise, or some other crap that shouldn't be there.

I'll add more later.

I would like this stickied if you can because it will stop noobs from coming here.

stop posting.

if i was to stick double team onto one of my pokemon that wouldn't make me a noob at all

Pax Deorum July 5th, 2006 10:01 AM

Good common sense is so lacking on the internet that people who have it need to make guides.

starmie fighter July 5th, 2006 10:03 AM

thing is, this guy doesn't have common sense either, so it's a guy without common sense making a guide about common sense on the internet for people without common sense.

seems pretty ironic imo

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:04 AM

loling.
Actually good players use dive/fly for stalling purposes. No sticky imo, since this is stupid.

starmie fighter July 5th, 2006 10:11 AM

yeah those good players with like 0 wins to 57 losses on their records

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:17 AM

not really, have you seen the pressurestall aero set? or the even more stalling ludicolo?

Pax Deorum July 5th, 2006 10:18 AM

Yarma's stall was actually pretty good

Squarewalker July 5th, 2006 10:38 AM

jc, since when the **** was stalling ludicolo good? .-.
and pressurestall aero is pure novelty ffs

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:40 AM

I never said it was good, I just said that some good people use it :(. I feel like using them now.

Pyrotechnix July 5th, 2006 10:43 AM

Well, there is Doom Desire with Jirachi, which can actually find it's way on a standard team and screw things up since you can switch out and have it still take effect.

Hyper Beam is actually an executable move on CB Slaking in today's metagame, can kill a heckuva lot of stuff, and used to be a truly godly move back in the RBY generation.

Please stop writing half-baked guides, for the sake of all of us.

AERO STALLERS

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:45 AM

Meh people say hyperbeam on slakers is bad since it doesn't let you switch out, so counters come in and blah blah blah. Anyways in RBY hyper beam pwns.

Demonta July 5th, 2006 10:47 AM

What is a definition of a noob, if it is just inexperienced players then I am a noob =O, though I know how everything works, I lack experience.

Anyway, why kick noobs out of here, they're just beginners like you might use to be (maybe still are). This guide is pointless plus the points on here are already known by pretty much everyone (including me)

In all, I find this offencive.

Pax Deorum July 5th, 2006 10:48 AM

Hyper Beam Tauros isn't bad outside RBY. It has a good STAB and is useful when he's about to die

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:49 AM

You could say is an explosion-style move pax?

Pyrotechnix July 5th, 2006 10:54 AM

@ jc, Yeah, most people do say that about Slaking, I use Double-Edge myself, but the chance to OHKO Suicune in certain situations is a good game indeed.

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 10:58 AM

Double-edge is useful since Slaking has the hp to survive ofr some time.

Flamman July 5th, 2006 11:04 AM

i think thiss complete topic is rubish, i use double team on my shedinja, to make him last longer, ik use dive on my ludicolo with toxic, and fly on my toxic skarmory.

and hyper beam pawned back on RBY, and it still does in certain situations, but i personally put return on my pokemon, i love that move ^^

Demonta July 5th, 2006 11:07 AM

I agree agree and agree, this topic is rubish! BOOO BOOO!

Muwahahahaha

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 11:07 AM

sheddy dies to lots of stuff unless it is in ubers/uu.

Flamman July 5th, 2006 11:20 AM

that why i dont use shedinja often, i usually prefer ninjask, high speed+high power+adament=a killer:P

but if you think other people are noobs for using certain moves, and want to sticky it aswell, then who is the noob? with the painted cut 'n paste fake pkmn in your siggy? no offense(actually it is, so i appologize), but i think you should not try to prevent noobs, but make great players by trial and error, i became quite good in that way

jc_rcw July 5th, 2006 11:25 AM

Btw jask only works for bpteams .-.

Flamman July 5th, 2006 11:26 AM

u use it with the following move set:
- swords dance
- shadow ball
- return
- baton pass

Blazemxx July 5th, 2006 11:31 AM

Substitute on the above set. Hyper Beam is not for n00bs if it is on a Physical Normal type Pokemon, it acts as a weak Explosion so shut up.

Fr0st July 5th, 2006 12:02 PM

Why would you double team... It makes more sense to bulk up your attack so u hit harder even if you double team you will get hit eventually but if ur opponent has onli a few sheddy counters and you kill em with boosted attacks then you win...
Ninjask is used to pass speed/subs/Sd's and not to sweep (except meyb ubers) and it would be stupid to use it otherwise
His sticky attepmts fail tbh
