Help me decide on a team!?
Ok i will sort moves out later, i just want to get my pokemon in line first
ok so... i chose allakazam for the psycic, and yeah... only that as far as i know electabuzz cuz i dont wan legendaries plus he has a sneeky fire punch or so im told. charizard for the old classic, plus flying and fire ;D golem cuz he is my favourate, but also he has some killer moves.. gyradose or kingler, im swayed more to kingler atm, but gyra has dragon element... then Rydon, as he is mega strong, and he has few element weaknesses, and i remember him as strong.. btw im going for purely Kanto pokemon! |
Your request is too vague to get any decent help. You need to be more specific in what you want. Is this team for in-game, BF, link, or NB?
BTW - Rhydon doesn't have few special weaknesses. It has 4x weakness to both Water and Grass and 2x weakness to Ice. These moves are not only prevelant in NB/Link battles, but in-game and BF as well. Few trainers are able to use it effectively, due to its HUGE special weakness. |

What? Gyarados isn’t Dragon type. It’s Water/Flying. It’s still better than Kingler though. You don’t need both Rhydon and Golem in the same team. Most people prefer Rhydon (plus he gets an evolution in D/P). ~*^*~~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~~*^*~ |
Your team has absolutely no defense, just pure power. Ditch Golem for something like Weezing (I would say Skarmory, but if you insist on having them all from Kanto...)
And just because something is "strong" doesn't mean it will be good on a team. I can throw a team together like Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Articuno, Scizor, Heracross, and Metagross, which is obviously full of the strongest Pokemon in the game... but it won't get very far since they don't work well together. At least, not all of them... |
Looks like it has a Full-On Attack Team. Ya need some defence and then your team will be more powerful. And yeah, Gyarados is Water/Flying. I suggest Snorlax in your team.
[email protected] Adamant Nature -Curse -Rest -Sleep Talk -Double-Edge Sleep Talk Curselax. |
I wouldn't use Double-Edge with that set... more like Return/Body Slam. And since when did STalk Lax have Curse?

Another very hard Snorlax to kill. This thing can be used as a sleep absorber, and then go on to sweep. He usually gets the upper-hand in Curse wars since he gets the extra turns of cursing and attacking while he rests. If you know your opponent is packing this, be sure to use a Gengar or Steelix/Skarmory. From smogon. STalk Curselax. |
No, no, no. Stalker Curselax is not a good idea. It works great against noobs that flood their teams with Legis, but it takes a lot to set up and there are too many standard Pokes that ruin it against a player that is good.

Adamant Nature -Lovely Kiss -Belly Drum -Return -Earthquake / Rest Sweeplax. |
I reckon you should start your team with the pokemon you've got, then give basic moves and edit them along the way.

[email protected] Careful Nature Curse Body Slam Earthquake Rest Snorlax can't really work that well with an adamant nature. |

Meh, I`m out of this thread, can`t do anything.

Best Team
Man the Best Team Would Be
1) Metagross (Metal/Psychic) Fissure, Meteor Smash, Body Slam, Strength 2) Dragonite (Flying/Dragon) Fly, Dragon Claw, Fire Blast, Steel Wing 3) Lanturn (Water/Electric) Surf, Thunder, Hydro Pump, Confuse Ray 4) Blaziken (Fire/Fighting) Blaze Kick, Overheat, Sky Uppercut, Cut 5) Tyranitar (Ground/Rock) Rock Slide, Blizzard, Crunch, Eathquake 6) Ludicolo (Grass/Ice) Ice Beam, Razor Leaf, Solar Beam, Surf |
Actually that team has many flaws, make your own thread to get it rated and don't double post. </minimod>

Also, Apocalypse, what has your team got to do with the team the user posted? Don't post random things like that, it's going off topic. And fyi Lugialord, there is no such thing as a Stalker Curselax on Smogon. ~*^*~~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~~*^*~ |
Ok, so ive had a good 7 year break from pokémon, but i want to get back into it. as ive said i want pure Kanto, but tell me if thats too much of a weakness.. Allakazam : Psychic, Ice Punch, Secret Power, Thunder Punch @ need help
Snorlax: Focus Punch, Lick, Rest, Return @ leftovers Golem: Earthquake, Explosion, Flamethrower, Rock slide i need a water electric and fire pokemon then really... but thats my novice skills talking. i like gyradose but i dont have a clue with the moves, i would guess... Gyradose:Blizzard, Hail, Hyrdo Pump, Return.. but thats a guess, like everything else. ok so tell me what you think of those 4 and offer 2 suggestions that would go well with that sort of team. |

alakazan is fine if you put all evs into satk and speed and make sure you kill everything one hit. if you really want to use an electabuzz, then you would need hp grass or water because ground is a major weakness. If they pull out a ground pokemon, then you will go first no problem and ground pokemon generally dont have high sdef so hp grass or water is essential. charizard is good for belly drum physical sweeper, or physical/special sweeper but the problem is rock attacks give you a lot of trouble. You can use golem if he's your favorite and you just like using him. Golem is generally used for explosion but metagross and claydols make better exploders. If you are trying to get a ground pokemon in kanto then i suggest marowak+thick club. Kingler is not of that much use, and gyarados is ok. If you want to use gyarados then i would suggest using the dragondance/earthquake/(return or another strong move) combo. i would shy away from using rhydon. Good but too major weaknesses. i hope this helps. |

Marowak is more like Double-Edge, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and DANG I can't remember the last move.
Snorlax either Curse,Rest,EQ/Shadow Ball,Return or Rest,STalk,Double-Edge, EQ/Shadow Ball Alakazam is more like Calm Mind,Psychic,Fire Punch,Recover/Sub Raichu is meh, but if you're using it, do Focus Punch,Sub,Agility/T-wave,T-bolt I'm not good with Lapras. Sorry. Dragonite is Focus Punch,Sub,T-bolt,Ice Beam or Dragon Dance,EQ,Aerial Ace/HP Flying,Thunder. Have a nice day. |

Why does Lapras have Dragon Dance and ZERO physical moves? That defies logic.
Lapras @ Leftovers - Confuse Ray - Ice Beam - Sing - Thunderbolt |
