Oh yes, the conversation's there again.

That's all I see it being used for too. What's the point of MySpace if you just have to use it in lieu of an IM conversation, telephone call, or tête-à-tête meeting? And the bullying there doesn't seem to be under any control.

Reason: Fox, folks.

pokejungle October 18th, 2006 3:57 AM

I just stated my reason.

To see how well social networking can act to the benefit of political protesting.

doesn't matter October 18th, 2006 3:58 AM

What's Fox?

And yeah, I hate it how people have long convo's through comments.

Paul, it just shouldn't work though, not on a place like MySpace. If the user's had an interest in politics, or even the world itself, then many of them would not waste their time there. They'd actually be doing something productive. I can see what you're trying to do, but there's probably a better way of doing it.

pokejungle October 18th, 2006 4:02 AM

Fox news I believe.

Completely biased towards the Republicans.

doesn't matter October 18th, 2006 4:11 AM

Well it's hard to find media that isn't biased in some manner. Specially the shows about current affairs, they really bug me.

pokejungle October 18th, 2006 4:45 AM

I really don't like the media in general~

I don't think I know anyone who does like the media. With the exception of the media themselves..

The companies that run commercials on those channels?

I just stick to Reuters for news, been trying to find news blogs, but nothing seems that good.

Yea and that's totally untrue. I happen to watch FoxNews so I do know it's not "Completely biased towards the Republicans".

Anyway, first DCC post on my laptop!!!!

Just because you watch it, you can't say if it's bias or not anymore; you didn't compare it to anything :P If you only watch that channel, then you could be bias too and never know it!

Right, and someone that never watches it can say it's biased?

Media will always be bias. Unless you compare it to another media (CBS) or see it for yourself; then you really can tell. But it is true; Fox is very right-sided.

MegaFuz October 18th, 2006 12:19 PM

Umm. I think it's pretty well known that FoxNews is biased towards the Republicans. I've never heard anyone argue otherwise. o.o

Arcanine October 18th, 2006 12:28 PM

Ok, Fox is biased towards the Republicans. But then you got ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN (and others) biased towards Democrats.

Meh. Both parties are failing as far as I'm concerned, so I couldn't really give a rat's behind. =X

That I totally agree with. I'll support Republicans but they have failed BIG time.
All of them people in the Gov sucks. XD

Chibi-chan October 18th, 2006 12:39 PM

I'd perfer this than to what some other countries have though -.-;

Arcanine October 18th, 2006 12:43 PM

I know.
But still, the ones we got up there right now has no backbone. The Republicans more so. They got the Prez, House and Senate but do they use it? No, they sit up there and do nothing. They all need to be voted out for someone with a backbone. <_<;;

Chibi-chan October 18th, 2006 12:47 PM

Have you ever seen Mr. Smith goes to Washington? :3 Great movie, you'd like it.

Government is nothing but a big school of peer pressure >: If one person won't do something, then no one else will complain about it either. Meh, I watch the news, but I really don't pay much attention to polls and stuff like that. The funny thing though is that no one's noticing the gas prices are lowering the same time as elections...

MegaDitto October 18th, 2006 12:50 PM

Chibi needs to get on MSN. D:

I remember in the Mark Foley case, Fox News said he was a Democrat. o_o;

I've never heard of the movie. XD

The gas prices are going down because traveling season is preatty much over and we didn't have any hurricanes this year.

MegaFuz October 18th, 2006 12:58 PM

Go to google, click video, and search for "Loose Change: 2nd Edition." I'm sure it's on YouTube too. But yeah...it'll make you hate our government even more. o.o

Not that I agree with everything in the video, but it raises some major questions.

[Edit] Nevermind, it's not on YouTube. =\

CNN is still semi-open, but it's really been going into biased areas lately. Fox News is seen as biased by most people, I wouldn't call them totally biased, but they are one of the most unprofessional news outlets out there right now. They do report a lot of false things and often send stuff to air without sources.

I think I've seen that before. Didn't really agree with it all, but like you said, it brings up some really good stuff.

Are you kidding? The owner of FOX is one of the biggest liberals I've ever seen.
Just because they have O'Riley doesn't make them conservative. They aren't as extremely liberal as ABC, CNN, etc, but they aren't conservative.

The word I'm looking for starts with "M." I can't think of it though. It's bugging the crap out of me. Like "modest liberal" but not "modest."

Arcanine October 18th, 2006 6:16 PM

Bill O'Riley conservative? That's a joke.
