Ahhg, is everyone better than me at DS games?
So I guess no-one's going to help me, ahh what a cruel world... |
Just practice, it's not that hard.
We should get together for a battle tournament once D/P is out in teh US. That'd be cool. The DS Clan Battle! I'd PWN you all with my Carnivine or something. |

Anyway as you say you know how, there was only one thing I wanted to know, do I swerve and make the blue sparks appear or the orange, that's all I wanted to know. |
Oh, I think you hold down L or R and then push right and left on the D-pad back and forth very fast.
Honestly, I haven't played the game in foreeeeever. But I did beat all the Grand Prix stuff. |
I know that, but do you do it until you see orange or blue sparkles?

A DS Clan tournament? Now I don't think that's much different from a PC-wide tournament. Except maybe the rules and regulations.
MKDS is fun. I still play it all the time. |
Soooo, Anyone here at the DS group got D/P because I wouldn't mind going in a tournament, and I'll give out a prize to the winner!, so yeah if everyone agree's I'll design it, it'll be awesome.

I just got a DS today, but I'm not very interested in playing it....
I wish there was a pause button in D/P or on DS >_<; |

I'm a big disappointed I can't have multiple saves unless I buy gameshark cheatsaves device though.... |
I like the addition where you cant save over the main save, they made it you have to delete the save by pressing some buttons on the main screen, it's a good tactic against little kids and there save erasing ways, mwahaha

Not on my DS though. I made that mistake on my Emulator. |
Review!
Well seeing as this clan is a it dead right now, I am going to spice it up with a nice review of a new DS game that has recently came out, remember peoples this is a review by me, So it doesn't mean I can guarantee you'll like it, just because I do.
Now for the review ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Game Name: Etrian Odyssey Genre: RPG Learning To Play Time: Give or take 30mins Overall Rating: 8 - Gameplay Rating: 8 - Sound Rating: 7 - Control's Rating: 9 - Story Rating: 8 - Graphics's Rating: 8 Publisher: Atlus USA Developer: Atlus USA Release Date: May 15, 2007 (US) ESRB: T Plot A forest labyrinth mysteriously opened in the land of Etria, which was named, Yggdrasil Labyrinth , Etria sent for countless adventurers to explore the labyrinth's unknown depths, but many times did an adventurer not return from the dark and intimidating forest, yet Etria did not give up, and kept sending for adventurers to risk their very lives, for fame, fortune and glory! (LOL, at my plot, XD!!) Gameplay The gameplay of this game was, surprisingly, very different to normal RGPs (Specially as this is on the NDS), Apart from the story line, get quests to help NPC's, and level your character by fighting numerous monsters, you have to do complete another task, which is to map the newly found labyrinth, This is controlled using the touch screen, and you draw what you see, whilst pin pointing events of where certain things happened, and where you found treasure (Those were a couple of examples) The game is 3D, and the character is controlled by the D-Pad, but instead of going left and right, the left and right keys change your facing, so if you want to go left, you turn left, then press up. As graphics are skeptical on the NDS, the graphics for this game are quite pleasant, and don't look horrible like some games...*Cough* Rayman and splinter cell *cough*. Although only the world is in full 3d, the monsters are 2d sprites and when in a battle, you only see the monster sprite and when attacking, the attack sprite, which could be a slash or some magic, whilst some people may not like this, I think this compliments the game nicely. The only thing in the game that bugs me is that the main town is not 3d, I would have liked to walk in the town, like you walk in the labyrinth. (ahh I guess it's probably just me who thinks this :( ) As this is an RPG, there are classes, there is a total of nine, each with their own abilities and skills, these classes range from: Landsknecht - This is the basic fighter class and uses swords and axes as weapons. Excels at combat. Survivalist - This class is the ranger class and uses bows to attack. Protector - This class is the Paladin class, who focuses on defense, but still has a nice attack stat, also can cure, so it's like 50/50 of a Landsknecht and Medic. Dark Hunter - They use whips or swords to attack, usually used to inflict status' on enemy's, such as paralysis. Are very quick and have a nice attack stat to back them up. Medic - The cleric class, Excels in magic that heals your team in battle and outside of battle. Alchemist - This is the offensive magic class, the basic magic they use are fire, ice and lightning. Troubadour - This class is a support class, which buffs defense's and attack for your party. Ronin - I haven't made a character with this class, when I have will fill this in. Hexer - I haven't made a character with this class, when I have will fill this in. When you start this game, Unlike normal RPGs that have the pre-determined main characters, in this game, you create a guild, and from that you assign members into the guiled, which are created by you, so you get control over their name, sex and class, which is kind of a nice addition, as I was able to get creative with my party. The main town of Etria is picture based, and you just see a tool bar on the left, which has certain options to do things, such as buy goods and weapons, revive a fallen party member, rest, save, and get quests. I find this a reasonable option, instead of making the town 3d like the labyrinth, but if they had made it 3d, it would have been awesome! XD! Conclusion I think this game is a purchase, to all people who love RPGs, and if your not sure, just try it on the NDS emulator, THEN BUY IT. Cons - Town isn't in 3d - (I don't know what else, mwahaha) Pro's - Awesome integration of the mapping system. - A nice interface. - Very interesting game all over. If you would like to see some pictures I would post up a link to gamespot, But I can't recall if it is allowed. (I can remember reading a rule that says I have to quote something from the link, But you can't quote pictures!! XD!!) Lol ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, that's my review people, tell me what you think if you's get the game or not, but other than that, I highly recommend it! (Also as a tip, if you find it hard to read, and use Mozilla, hold CTRL + Scroll towards you, to make the font bigger) |
Sounds cool, I'm interested in it.
And I guess if I had money I'd buy it. |
Yeah, I hate that about consoles and video games, they cost way too much, not that I buy them... but it costs alot for people who do, lol
|
Ahem...the poor DS clan hasn't gotten a post in about 10 days... shame on you.
http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/06/04/ds-releases-for-the-week-of-june-4th/ Look out for the browser that we've all been waiting for, America. Along with this is 2 other games that I don't really care about, but you might. http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/japanfan/8497/ Water-cooled DS? These bring the retro gaming back, but with an added twist. These are just mini-games, probably those short-lived mini-games in my opinion... but possibly addicting. |
