PORYGON2, The... Recycling Pokemon?
I've not noticed this moveset announced anywhere, but it's pretty nasty for long fights.
Hold: Leppa Berry (+10PP when PP reaches 0) Moves: ***(attack, preferably something that can hit any oponent)*** Double Team (or another move of your choosing, perhaps a beef-up) Recycle (when you use the Leppa Berry, you can get it back) Recover (if your gonna have a long-lasting strategy, you better be able to heal) |
Nyah, that's a crappy moveset really. Knock Off screws it over and anything with Double Team fails badly, as do most builds with only one move capable of doing any damage (A move you haven't even specified <.<). So it has the amazing ability of recovering PP, big whop, that won't do it any good if it doesn't have anything worthwhile to use that PP on. Standard Porygon 2 trumps this thing any day.

You forget 2 factors here.
1) the oponent NEEDS Knock Off to stop this set. 2) It doesn't matter how often I hit the oponent 1 on 1, chances are they would run out of PP long before my PORYGON2 and will suffer unstoppable damage from STRUGGLE attacks. This set was designed to wear down the oponents PP, not nesessarilly defeat them. The attack I chose was Ice Beam because it can hit any oponent. Weather it's effective or not is besides the point, the point is that it can hit all types and does not suffer penalties like inability to hit types like Dark, Ghost, ect... On a side note, the oponent that can't counter this minuiver will be weakened for the next fight even if they manage to defeat my PORYGON2. "The best offence is a good defence." |
lol. This is like that thread with the emo Pidgeot lover...
You seem to be forgetting that Fire, Steel, and Ice resist Ice. A Gardevoir with Calm Mind/Wish/Magical Leaf or Shock Wave beats that pokemon. Doesn't even have to use it's 4th move. Using Double Team isn't a good strategy. You're raising your evasion in hopes of getting lucky and the opponent's attacks not hitting you. That just shows that you're a punk that battles by using moves that increase your luck. Please don't even bother to argue how that set works. It fails. Edit: In case you won't be able to comprehend how easily the aforementioned Gardevoir stops this set, here is the scenario. Porygon2 used Double Team! Gardevoir used Calm Mind! Porygon2 used Double Team! Gardevoir used Calm Mind! *Now, this happens for about 3-4 more turns* Porygon2 used Ice Beam! Gardevoir was hit! (98%HP) Gardevoir used Magical Leaf! Porygon2 fainted! See there? The battle was finished in less than 10 turns. It could've been finished in probably 5. THAT. SET. FAILS. Edit2: Exactly how is the best offense a good defense when you are OFFENDING the opponent? |
As said above.
Also Porygon2 speed isn't the best. Anything faster that knows a good Brick Break can get rid of him. Also if anybody is smart Arial Ace or any move like it will do the job too. Moves like Shock Wave are seen commonly and they never miss. Little Porygon2 can't live forever after a few hits. |
The reason I didn't say Aerial Ace was simple; I couldn't think of anything that learned Aerial Ace that resisted Ice of the top of my head. Well, I just now thought of Charizard and Slaking, but whatever, I hope he/she gets the point.

Porygon 2 @ Salac Berry/Petaya Berry/Lum Berry Nature: Modest Thunderbolt Ice Beam Recycle Recover Lum Berry + Recycle would provide status recovery while Petaya or Salac could improve its sweeping ability and Recover and suitably high defensive EVs provide durability. However, its defensive abilities would be severely handicaped by the lack of lefties recovery and Thunder Wave (Which does provide the occasional parahax). I could go on more, but considering your arguments thus far, I can see that logic doesn't apply for you so I won't bother. To the intelligent people around here, though, turning Porygon 2 into a lame and defective annoyer is a horrible waste. |
