Daily Chit-Chat

It has been confirmed. The DCC was phyically deleted.

So, yets start discussion again.

aRedMoon April 24th, 2004 8:49 AM

So it can't come back... that's kinda sad...

Couldn't they get like a back-up or something?

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 8:51 AM

Yes, I think they do but that will delete everything that happened after the backup.

aRedMoon April 24th, 2004 8:53 AM

If it works like some other ones, they could just take the DCC part of a back-up and back that up. it wouldn't affect anything else, just that thread, bringing whatever was there back.

ASG April 24th, 2004 8:54 AM

PC is messed up!! I lost 50 post someone just joined today and now there a super mod. in just 5 min. and and This is messed UP!!!!

MoonLight April 24th, 2004 8:54 AM

I just got on , and I saw what has happened. It is terrible esp losing all thoses
big threads, And our post count But I never cared about my count anyway

Dizzy April 24th, 2004 8:55 AM

Umm He was a super-mod from before, if you payed attention.

Yahh It's pretty sad, we had hopes to read 20,000 ....

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 8:55 AM

I don't think you can do a selective restore... o.O...

That was Andy, someone hacked his account. And if you want your posts back, PM VRoad.

aRedMoon April 24th, 2004 8:58 AM

I don't see why not. If each thread has a different SQL statement, then you can just find that SQL statement in the back-up and restore that.

You'd also have to find all the -what 1,500?- posts and restore them too, so it would take some time.

I think you mean 200,000 if you're talking about total posts. We lost around 20,000 though I think. I lost around 1000 of them not that post count is important.. it just takes me so long to type each one up!

Ryoutarou April 24th, 2004 8:59 AM

ya...better off just leaving it as it is with new threads and find something stronger then a ip ban.

Dizzy April 24th, 2004 8:59 AM

I got all my posts back. Thank you VRoad! Anyways. What's being done about this crap... When Kairi gets on.. woah..

ASG April 24th, 2004 9:00 AM

Hope has died. I'd say about a couple more mounths and will probly be at 10,000 post.*sighs* okey here's a topic.Last Sunday it got up to 81 degrees and FL only got up to 76 degrees.

=\ VRoad is doing an excellent job of handling this situation. He couldn't have been admined at a better time. @[email protected] As I see it, there isn't really all that much more that Kairi could do that he isn't doing already. ^_^;;

But anyway, these things always seem to happen when I'm away from the computer. o_o;

Ryoutarou April 24th, 2004 9:27 AM

Um..just a warning if he comes back or it seems that the hacker comes back DO NOT TALK TO HIM DO NOT ENGAGE IN ANY FORM OF CONVERSATION WITH HIM THIS VIRUS SPERADS VERY EASY AND FAST.

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 9:30 AM

What virus? ._.;; *feels very pathetic right now because she's seriously lacking details*

Um...i kinda planted a virus egg in the hacker computer...

flygonruler1 April 24th, 2004 9:31 AM

Blue gave a virus to him
Hello 25 limit

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 9:32 AM

No, CrazyMeowth hacked into Andy's account and deleted the DCC thread. >_< physically...

Quote:

I, Crazy Meowth, was on AIM last night and alakapcc A.K.A Sean contacted me telling me he was furious at PC for being jerks to him (no offense, that's what he said). He told me he was so stressed and angry he was cutting himself and inflicting pain on his own body. I told him I'd help him because he but some of BjGamecreations' games on his site and was very nice to both of us. This morning I figured out how to screw up PC. I got Andy/Arcanine's Zip Code in the post about Georgia Zip Codes. I then used it to change his Hotmail pword. Once I was into his Hotmail account i could get an e-mail from PC that enables me to change his password. I then logged in as him and deleted all the Sticky threads. I may have also edited some of your post-counts by accident but i don't think I did.

Ryoutarou April 24th, 2004 9:32 AM

i gotta go at 3est...gotta have my comp off for a day so the virus is wiped from my comp.

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 9:38 AM

Actally, the virus won't be away if you even turn off your computer

Proform a virus scan... or something.. ^_^

Ryoutarou April 24th, 2004 9:40 AM

No i have to make a beta copy of it on my comp first before i could have sent it out...so i'm gonna have to have it off the beta version will die without power...but the copys wont.
most people think i know squat about comps becuse i dont look like someone thats into comps.

Jess April 24th, 2004 10:27 AM

Well Im missing over 170 Posts.. XD Must be they were in this thread..lol

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 10:28 AM

I think I'm missing 200? I have no idea, since I can't even remember the last time I looked at my postcount. On that note, I only just noticed where it is in the postbit. XD;;

Ryoutarou April 24th, 2004 10:28 AM

well i got mine back just ask for them

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 10:31 AM

Wow, I can't believe it was deleted. Im going to have to PM Vroad....

I am really obseesed with post count for no rational reason @[email protected]

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 10:35 AM

But I don't care about them. o_o Just before we switched databases, I lost about 2000 posts for no apparent reason. (Which is why if the old PC were still there, I would only have about 400 posts. XD)

I think all these people getting their postcounts back just goes to show how everyone cares more about a number than for their actual posts. =\ I can understand Sayuri no Hoshi's complaints about losing her posts since hers are always so long... but for most other people - a majority of the posts in the DCC were one-liners. They probably took you a grand total of 30 seconds to type and it's not that bad if you lose them; what's the big deal? ._.;;

Jess April 24th, 2004 10:37 AM

If PC 1.0 was still around and you added up the psot counts on all of my accounts it would be like 10,000 +.. (Including the Posts I deleted in Jan 2003)

Frostweaver April 24th, 2004 10:37 AM

Big deal... unless I can trade 1 dollar for every post count I have, blah... Really the staff members are already too busy sorting out every mess within PC at this moment. Must we bother them further more with "Please increase this meaningless number?" =/

Please PC... behave yourself. If you must get post count, at least ask for it later.

Jess April 24th, 2004 10:40 AM

Well I don`t really care about posts.. Im just glad my RPG or Quiz weren`t deleted..lol

Frostweaver April 24th, 2004 10:54 AM

lol... yeah I lost 3000 but it's not like 3000 bucks or anything...

But then again, this incident indirectly does a test for the hypocrites... It's absolute fun to see those who says "post count means nothing to me" rush up spamming PM to the admins to get their post counts back.

However, I'm very glad that the unhappy incident at hand has come to a temporate end... hopefully through time we can bring everything back into order.

Fine, then I'll just ask him to give me 0 post count, so then people won't assume I have an obsession for post count. >_>' Look, I also put effort into posting the best I could in DCC as well, so I also worked hard to do that many posts without the majority of them being one liners. I guess I just felt as if all that effort was taken away as well. I may not be as good at posting like Sayuri is, but I do my best. ¬¬ I'm not in a great mood at the moment, later. Great, now I'm angry at myself because of asking. >.>

Phoenix Boy April 24th, 2004 10:56 AM

i dont mean to SPAM but i just need to know my post count

Frostweaver April 24th, 2004 10:58 AM

I don't know what's your original post count... I don't pay attention to them. I'm sorry that I can't be of a help to you...

But once again... save your post count problems later. Let the staff members work out the other problems in PC first such as restoring threads and so on. Perhaps just wait until there's further notice that the staffs are going to accept "post count correction requests", then PM them the info and so on. For now, just be patient and wait.

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 10:58 AM

-_- now i feel bad for PMing Vroad...Thanks alot everyone!

Ya, I'm the person who alwasy writes the one liners, but everyone ignores me....I wonder if thats conected? Perhaps it is, but I shouldn't think it would matter...

Maybe I just dont' have anything worth replying too...That could be it, and hey look! I wrote more than one line and it STILL TOOK less than 30 sec ^^

I didn't mean to offend you in any way - your posts are some of the greatest. When I said that, I didn't even have you in mind. I'm speaking a little more generally, since someone loses a post and goes "omg wtf!" There's nothing wrong with asking for your postcount to be restored, don't get me wrong. But is it really necessary? x.o; As frosty said, it kinda adds to the to-do list since so many people will be asking the administrators for help.

<_< I think I'm probably being hypocritical or something right now (as I can't even remember what I said in my last post), so I'll just shut up. X3;

._. Should I put the MOTM results up now or did anyone else want to PM me their votes (as I know a lot of people didn't get the chance to do so)?

perhaps sit back and wait for a few days first to see if the threads can be restored or not, then decide on MOTM again... afterall if every thread can be restored, then we can just move on as normal.

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 11:15 AM

Yes, and I have to spend alot of time posting... ^_^.... but I don't really care.

They point of this is, Postcounts don't count. It's the quality of your posts that count at the end. You won't have a good reputation if you only post only 4 words per posts. 4 words can't make the post clear enough so other people will understand.

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 11:17 AM

OOh...I need to update my motm votes since I know the members here a bit better now, can I get a copy of the question things?

If the threads could be restored, I would be able to do it myself as I would still see them in the forum view. However, I can't, so I'm guessing they're gone for good. o.o; I printed off the entire voting topic before I left for class this morning, though, so that's salvaged...

I'm going to repost the discussion topic and allow votes to be submitted via PM until Monday night - then I'll post the results up. @[email protected];;

I know, I am sorry that I was a jerk, I don't know, I guess I felt guilty, very fuilty. ._. I just don't want to be thought of as a post count lover, as I frown upon people who post effortlessly just to raise post count. I dont think that there is any reason to ask him to lower it now, as it will also give them more work to do, and what's done is done.

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 11:26 AM

I will go vote right now I think.....

Can I run the next motm voting??

I'm not sure... I don't know how the staff panel works, but perhaps you cannot view it because someone else of equal "staff rank" as you deleted it...? Perhaps admin can undo Smod/praetor changes... Never seen so many admins on at the same time in my life, so perhaps let's give them some time to work on this...

EDIT: MOTM hosting has lined up all the way til next year XD;; so i'm afraid you won't be hosting for awhile Pokejungle

Unfortune but not surprising! ^^

I need the motm catagories!!!

*~Ashley~* April 24th, 2004 11:34 AM

I think VRoad said in another thread that it's all gone for good and it can't be returned. But I could be mistaking. But maybe I'm wrong since there are so many admins on right now maybe there is a way to fix it all. But I really have no idea.

I know how you feel FT... now I feel guilty too. But it's too late for me to undo my post count now that I already changed it. I shouldn't have bothered him to change it but what's done is done I guess. I guess I felt the same way as you though... I always put a lot of effort into my posts and now they're gone... but that number really means nothing... and now I'm just being a hypocrite so I'll drop the subject...

Frostweaver April 24th, 2004 11:36 AM

Perhaps you should PM lightning for it as she's the hostess (and a good one too) of April's MOTM.

So it seems that MOTM voting date has been extended to Monday night (2 days worth of time) via PMing Lightning. Guess now's the chance for those who forgot to vote (or didn't vote) to go vote now ^_^

DragonTrainer April 24th, 2004 11:44 AM

Eh, just to clear things up frosty, I never directly asked for postcount back. If you were to go to the admin lounge, I didn't ask for it back, I just stated how much I lost and whatnot, so call me a hypocrite if you must

I really cannot care about what you do or what you did... as it's just post counts. Be it 0 or 10000000, I cannot care about it... I'm more concerned at the possible flooding of PMs due to post count, not the number itself. And even that's important to me at the moment... There's some other things about this morning that's greatly troubling me...

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 11:47 AM

I didn't ask for it ether, but I said how much I lost though. ^_^...

>_>...

John Denver April 24th, 2004 11:47 AM

Post count does in fact matter...

It tells whos been the most active, and who (maybe) to ask about stuff...

chyeah BOO ya! (1300 post count, ouch)

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 11:50 AM

Post count is just a number... o.O

Lol... we all know that we should ask Dakota if we got any questions then since he's just 1337 ;p

But really... staffs are always someone to ask for even if the staff's post count number is low (as "supposedly" they're responsible). Plus from just viewing through posts, through someone's posting style, you can judge who to ask and who not to ask.

John Denver April 24th, 2004 12:07 PM

I don't suppose there's a way to retrieve those deleted threads eh? admins? praetors? mods? serebi? dad? gates?

being a staff over this crazy forum is one thing i don't want to do in my entire life... unless...

but mods = crapload of trouble for you... it's never fun... really it's not x.x the more work you do, the more complaints you get with lesser "praises" for your hard work. how cruel to be a mod...

2 reasons:

a) mods = higher status in PC, which means a step closer to absolute power in this world... so let's hog the mod spot, do nothing and enjoy the "i bow down to worship you" status

b) they're responsible and knows that someone has to do the crappy job... so might as well be them so everyone else can enjoy.

sadly... not all mods belong to type B...

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 12:44 PM

Hmmmm, I still want to be a mod.

All my friends are like Arcanine, Moonlight, tmbjr.....

I don't know why I'm not. I joined around the same time Arcanine did. Maybe its because Kwesi thinks I'm annoying. ^^

by saying that your chance of being a mod drops heavily... people who requests to be mod usually takes longer than usual to become one... ask Alyssa about how that feels XD (but she's finally a mod)

just because your friends are mods... and just because you joined PC for a long time... that doesn't quality you a gurantee mod... Kairi has been here for half a year and she's a praetor... Arcanine isn't here for that long of a time too relatively, and he's Smod. It's what you do, and your dedication to PC that counts.

pokejungle April 24th, 2004 12:58 PM

Unfortuneatly I found out asking Kwesi to be mod is a bad idea from experience, so I know how that works...>_<

I am TRYING to be dedicated to PC, if you'll notice I've been posting A LOT more than I usually do, my new amount of posting. I will try not to leave PC for long times again too.

Pokemaster10000 April 24th, 2004 1:05 PM

I lost 1000+....Wow!
That means I lost 1000+ dollars. XD

Argh, why do these things happen when I take a day off in PC?
They should atleast do that when I'm here. :P

ASG April 24th, 2004 1:20 PM

Ohh forget that part of the past and go to right now!You want a topic here's one "do you have annoying bros. or sisters even people who think you're their friend but not"let's talk about that.

Yes bros. and sisters and some wierd kid in class who thinks every one is his friend.

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 1:36 PM

I lost 200 today... grrrrr..

*slaps CrazyMeowth*

Well, Frosty is right. I dedicate all my time to quality and posting. Not post counts. =P

crazymeowth has carefully planned this all from the beginning... he has precise plans to trick poor Arcanine into the mess (how evil). If he's so determined to do it again, IP block won't be able to stop him. He'll find ways to get across as I have heard of ways to change IP...

I don't think everyone's my enemy either. :P
But sometimes I go into deep thought's like that also.

Speaking of friends I might have to take out my picture in my sig to add more friends later on. I passed the character limit more than twice now. So I took out some other minor things from my sig.

PichuSecretBase April 24th, 2004 1:58 PM

I am like so lucky, I lost only 15 or so posts n.n Or I lose 115 o.o Forgot my count.

CrazyMeowth was an evil monkey x.x *growls*

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 2:01 PM

I don't have a "friends list" in my sig because I know that some people I consider friends likely don't think of me the same way. So to save the both of us the embarassment, I just keep it out of the sig. Besides, when I forget someone, it would really be a hit to their self esteem or whatever, I'm sure. =\

... how do you even remember that you lost only 15 posts? I didn't even know that I lost post count until i see blue screaming out about it. Then i'm like... "hmm...? something wrong with post count...? seems to be recording numbers alright... oh wait hey i'm down to 1400s instead of 4400s... wow what happened" o.o;

either way... most of the things (PC wise) are back in order... so let's drop the topic about CrazyMeowth.

That's a scary thought. =\ I knew from the beginning that he was a troublemaker.

Also, I went ahead and re-made the old 'Leave of Absence' thread, if everyone thinks that that's okay?

Anyways, I guess to change the topic... I got a chicken and a duck yesterday! ^_^ They're just babies. They're so adorable! I'll have to take pictures for you all. My brothers and cousins also got one of each. I don't know what kind they are yet, but I'm pretty sure that my duck is a mallard. I may name it Mally. I'm still deciding on some names. *dances around* I've always wanted them! =D

*Sighs* I am sorry I wasn't my usual "cool" self earlier, I was just in a bad mood because one of my best buddies now has their internet time restricted greatly... u_u Anyways, I assure that won't happen again, and if it does.... I don't know :p

Well, I didn't intend to really come at this moment to get involved, I just really felt bad about how I snapped a bit, and wanted to apologize. =\

Knowing me, I'd do the exact same thing. X3 I think we had chicks in grade 6... or was it 3? (Yes, I'm pathetic - I can't remember XD) They were so cute. <3 I wanted one, but someone else in my class got to keep them because my parents wouldn't let me.

*~Ashley~* April 24th, 2004 3:02 PM

Aww! You got a chick and a duck Kayleigh? That's so cool! I want a chick now! But we're not allowed to have pets cuz I live in my grandmother's house. If my parents ever decide I can have a pet I want a chick! But that's never gonna happen. *sigh* Oh well. I still don't know how my sister got to have a pet hamster! It was ugly and annoying though. So it was more of a torture system for my sister than a reward! It kept escaping! Of course she (well I picked it out actually!) but she had to pick the only hyper active one in the cage while all the others were sleeping. And she named it Dizzy because of it's hyper activity! It was jumping around trying to escape! But he died last year... hopefully you're new animals won't be as much trouble a her hamster!

DragonTrainer April 24th, 2004 3:11 PM

Well, I dont know much about chicks, but I know would love some, but we have no room lol. I do know about kittens though. Just a few days ago, yesterday to be exact, a litter of kittens were at my front yard. My cat was very busy lol, he dragged another cat here, technically she isn't ours, but she pretty much lives in our front yard. I don't know if those are my cat's kittens or not, but they are so tiny and well... cute :P. Lol, it's a weird day when you hear me say something's cute

Sayuri no Hoshi April 24th, 2004 3:35 PM

Oh yay, Kayleigh! I loooooooooooove chicks and ducks! They're so incredibly adorable. Typically any cute bird is my favorite animal, lol. I wanna see 'em! Be sure to post the pictures soon. ^___^

Not to change the subject, but I feel so dorky today, lol. I don't feel my usual cool-self. ^_^;; I wanted a Hilary Duff poster...yes, I am a strong fan of her and Lizzie McGuire for about three years now so shaddup O_o...anyway! So, I walk into Limited Too because that's the only place that seems to sell them. This is where I become freaked out--there's pretty much conceited, little 9 year-olds and younger shopping in the place. I shopped there until I was about 13, okay?! It's so creepy! But, I'll get to my point, lol. I go the counter with my Mom so she could buy it for me and the girl asked our phone number. Normal for some cashiers to do that, right? Then she asks, "Okay, so what's the birthdate of the girl you're shopping for?" My Mom hesitated so much to say it, lol. I just finally told her and she kind of looked at me weird... -_-; Then my Mom said, "Um, she just likes the poster!" Thanks for that additional comment, Mom! Nice to know she'll always be there standing behind me to make a remark about something...not that there was anything wrong with buying a Hilary Duff poster; I felt so violated for having these people stare me down because I'm twice the age group that goes in there! *sigh* I shake my fist at you, you Limited Too freaks...O_o;

And one last chit-chat rant: I'm watching this anime "Duel Monsters" on Cartoon Network now and it makes me want to poke my eyes out and have Yu-Gi-Oh! sue them, lol. WHAT ANIME ACTUALLY BRINGS AMERICAN POP CULTURE INTO THEIR DIALOGUE?! I think the the lead boy character's name is Shoubu--well, he said as he walked out onto the duel platform as the crowd cheered, "Wow, this must be like how Justin Timberlake feels!" What? Uh, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think Japan would insert Justin Timberlake's name into their show's Japanese dialogue that has nothing to do with him or familiarize him to. Then they mocked Yu-Gi-Oh! at one point by saying, "Yeah, that show with the Egyptian guy is so lame..." Well, that's great you English interpreters. *claps* Let's just put down every anime that actually has a plot, why don't you! ...I'm gonna shut up now, lol. *takes a deep breath* I stress myself out way too much! *needs to take a serious chill pill*

...they said that!? o_O; I'm only not watching this because I have no idea when it's on here, but if they say stuff like that in it, I don't think I WANT to watch it. Ugh... I hate it when they change references and insert stupid remarks in anime. Even in some of Viz's older graphic novels they do stuff. Such as in the older version of Ayashi no Ceres/Ceres: Celestial Goddess. They flipped it and changed referenced to J-Pop stars into references to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Phish. =\ They finally released a better version of it recently, but that still just irks me. People in english speaking countries aren't stupid... we don't need things dulled down or localized THAT much. >\

As for the poster thing, I know how you feel. X3 I always, ALWAYS get weird looks whenever I buy Yuugiou or Pokemon things from stores on my own. It's kind of annoying. ~_~;

I'm so lucky I don't have Cartoon Network or my TV would have a deep hole in the middle. :P
I'm a fan of Yu-gi-oh and I will not let anything like that stand.

Sakura and Espeon April 24th, 2004 4:02 PM

I love Yu-gi-oh, but I like pokemon more than yu-gi-oh. ^_^

Yeah me too!
But the show got boring because I pretty much saw what happened before I saw it. That's the bad part in knowing everything before they show it.

Blue Eyes? That's nothin. :P
*gets blown up by BEWD* XD
Since PM10000 had 0 atk and was in that position, I lose 3000 Life points.
Congrats Alyssa. 1000 more life points to go. :P

I have a question for the members of the old Pokemon Community.

Do you guys remember Danny? (Dewgong_Tears?) I am trying to find him again. He was my great friend, and I cant find his AIM address to contact him. Does anyone know it?

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 4:45 PM

I remember him... @@; Sadly, I don't have any of his contacts... I'll see if I can come up with anything for you, though. x.o;

John Denver April 24th, 2004 4:50 PM

How long do you guys figure it'll take to get this thread to 1000 posts eh?

I give it 2 months...

Cherrim April 24th, 2004 4:53 PM

Well we've got 100 posts in one day. I'd give it a few weeks. Then again, it's always really busy after something interesting happens. :E

John Denver April 24th, 2004 4:56 PM

and it gets slow after...um...well...I don't think it's ever been slow!

Dizzy April 24th, 2004 4:58 PM
