Hey guys and girls, how is everyone on this fine sunday morning (or afternoon or evening, depending on where you live =P)? Sorry that I wasn't hanging out with you guys much in DCC yesterday, I wasn't in the mood for chatting, =X anyways, now that I am back, you can all be hapy again. =P

Anyways, yesterday I went to see Shrek , and let me tell you, it IS hilarious! Oh man, there is so many parts in that movie that I would like to comment on, but I know that not everyone has seen it so I will keep my mouth shut.

So..this monday, we are celebrating Victoria Day, and I was just wondering if anyone is going to be taking part in the celebrations (if you have it where ever you live). Since it will probably consist of a lot of drunk setting off fire crackers and zooming on the road, I will probably not be taking part. =\

What's victoria day? Never heard of it...

They cost more than some computers! Wow, so are they going to be in pet shows? hmm, I was in the pet store, and these puppies were 2,000 dollars. Yorkies and others. That's A LOT. I'm happy with the kittens I got from my cousin for free. ^_^

We don't celebrate Victoria day here in the US... but the following Monday is Memorial Day. Hopefully I won't have to work that day. Not that it'll matter since I'll most likely have tap that day anyway... we just finished our dance we only have one week of classes left. Plus we haven't started the finale yet. And my cousins' b-day party is next weekend! That should be fun. And I think my sister has to march in the Memorial Day parade too... it'll be a busy weekend... the complete opposite of this one...

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 May 23rd, 2004 6:49 AM

Oh...Well the next holiday I'm looking forward too is Independence Day, since it's the 1 year anniversary of me watching Degrassi. Oh, it seems like just yesterday...

You have a Memorial Day parade in Connecticut?
That's cool. The only parade I know of in NY has is the Macy's Parade in Thanksgiving.
I think I'm not going to be busy though. So I'll mostly hang around in PC.

Uh... not a state parade. Our town holds one. I think all or most of the towns have their own parades. Since my sister is a Girl Scout and does softball she'll probably have to march. I always hated marching with Girl Scouts. I hated marching in any parade really. Especially the Colombus Day parade in Hartford... I had to march in my hideous Italian constume/uniform thing. It was awful! And after we would always have to sing and dance and stuff in front of an audience...

What are you guys and girls more afraid of? Bees or Spiders. I think they are close of the creey scale, but Spiders like make me freak out! Seriously, I'll start hyperventilating.

Bees man, I am seriously scared to death of those freaky flying insects. o_O; Whenever I see a bumble bee near me, I panick and start running away from it as fast as I can. XD I know that I look like an idiot from running away from a bug that is like a fraction of my size, but those things have stingers, and I have never been stung, and don't ever want to be.

My sister has a huge fear of spiders though, whenever she sees one she screams as loud as the can and starts crying (and she's 21 XD), and then we run down stairs and just kill it with our foot. =P

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 May 23rd, 2004 7:20 AM

I run from bees too. People always say stay still, but no way! If I stay still it'll sting me! I always run, and so far I've never been stung. Spiders creep me out, the way the move, and stay in one corner, and then jump to another. Ugh, they're coming for the summer. I'm starting to see them, after that long break. Aww...

Purin May 23rd, 2004 7:21 AM

I dislike Wasps.
One built a nest in my room the other day and when I destroyed it, a lot of dead bugs came out of it. It was awful...
Thankfully, my mum killed that wasp with an electric bat.
Electric bats are dead useful, they can kill mosquitos or any other insects with one whack of electric shock, powered by batteries. It works better than insecticide and is environmentally friendly.

*~Ashley~* May 23rd, 2004 7:24 AM

I'm not really scared of either bees or spiders. But I don't like either of them either. I've never been stung by a bee before and I don't want to either. But bumblebees since they don't sting, just annoy me. They have a hive in the corner of my roof so when we play basketball they always fly around us... yellowjackets on the other hand, are kinda scary since they do sting. But I don't run around screaming when there's one near me like my friend does!

Spiders aren't scary... just gross. I don't like spiders much but I'm not afraid of them. I just don't like to touch them. I wanted to open my window that first night I was sick but there was a spider and a huge web in there so I decided to leave it alone. The bugs I hate the most though, are ants...

Yup! It sure is!
(I'm glad someone else can finally back me up on this hehe..)
It has to be one of the funniest movies I have ever seen!
We were going to see it again yesterday, because my sister's friend was inviting us, but things kinda changed.

I have Memorial day not this monday, but the following monday.
Even though the ending of school is not too far off, it's nice to have a day off hehe...

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 May 23rd, 2004 7:31 AM

Bumblebees don't sting? Wow, I never knew that.

~Dazed and Confused Dude

Flaming Torchic May 23rd, 2004 7:32 AM

Hehe, well it is actually true that they will not sting you if you stay still. See, the reason why bees sting you is because they think you are a flower, they obviously do not have the ability to tell the difference between a human and a flower, so they'll try and pluck you thinking that you'll have pollen. If you move around, then they'll think that you'll try to harm them, so they'll sting you in self-defence. So, even if moving isn't the smartest thing to do, it works for me. =P

Hey, if you give me any kind of weapon, I won't be afraid to swat the little buggers. =P Although, I have never heard of an electric bat around these parts, we only have that kind of poison that attracts bugs but kills them when they breath it in.

yellow jackets eh? Well, I think I have heard of them, but I don't think they are as common around these parts. I think I remember seeing one outside of my dads apartment building window one day, it looked a lot like a bee, but it looked a bit..bigger.

*~Ashley~* May 23rd, 2004 7:36 AM

Bumblebees don't sting. They just pollenate flowers. They are pretty harmless yet people seem to be afraid of them. Just because they're bigger than other bees.

Yellowjackets are the really small, skinny bees. Those are the stinging ones. Those are the ones that I hate being near in fear of being stung. I try not to run away from bees though. I'll move away but I won't run away...

Memorial Day weekend should be nice. But my weekend seems so full already. And I still have 4 more weeks of school...

I'm not afraid of bees or spiders, either. Jeez, I remember when I was three years old and I was riding around on my tricycle in our driveway, and I went up to a bush with pretty flowers on my neighbor's lawn. I saw what was a bee with its STINGER right out and I poked it because I had no idea what it was, lol. Well, I started wailing...^_^; So, I'm immuned to the bad experiences those things bring...

Spiders? I'm not scared of them unless they climb up my leg or touch me in the slightest bit possible. I don't mind them as long as they keep their distance...>_< Tarantulas FREAK me out, though...thank God I don't live in the jungle or wherever those things hang out. *shudder*

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 May 23rd, 2004 7:43 AM

If a Spider touches me I will have a serious panic attack, no lie. The only spider [that I know of] that ever touched me was a daddylong leg in my friends bathroom in the basement. I was leaning against the wall, and it touched me and I jumped.

I don't like marching in parades also. That's why I turned down everytime I get asked. :P

The insects I hate the most are cockroaches. One got my by surprised one time when I was in PC. It was on top of my computer table.
What I hate the most is when I have to swat it. It always turns out messy when I do.

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 May 23rd, 2004 7:48 AM

There was a spider trying to create a web above my computer last weekend when I was on PC. I couldn't find the bug spray, so I sprayed it with air freshener and hit in with a AA battery.

Oh....hey! Chrystie! How did last night go?
You seem to be alive hehe...
Did you have a good time?

And good tactics Nick, hehe...
Sounds like something I would do!

I thought bumblebees did sting o_O My dad's got stung a whole bunch by them before... the thing is, I'm terrified of bees more than any other bug...I think I actually have a phobia of them. It takes everything in me to keep from running when one gets within five feet of me...I've never been stung before, and I don't want to be because I'm terrified that I'm allergic to beestings...and besides that, the bees are huge around here. I've seen 'em be as big as a quarter before...now those I can't help but run from ._.;; We have a lot of wasps around here too, and they're pretty good at getting in the car window and causing me to freak out when the window's rolled down...I might be outside a total of one hour during the summer, and that's the way I like it. Nature's my enemy ^_^

Phoenix Boy May 23rd, 2004 8:36 AM

Hey everybody what are you chatting about?

Jess May 23rd, 2004 8:59 AM

Bumble Bee`s cannot sting o_O

Basically there purpose it to collect Nectar and that`s basically it.XD
