Time and Gameplay

How long have you played your FR/LG and what do you normally do in the game? Just wander, or battle, or catch pointless Pokemon?

I normally train, switch Pokemon in and out of daycare, and battle a select few trainers with strong Pokemon. Every now and then I kick those four Elite Four folks' butts just for the fun of it.

I am at 99:59 hours. Beat that.

Pacman December 28th, 2006 9:41 AM

I just, wonder around. Train, Raise Pokemon, etc.

I think my time so far is in the 70s.

kintar December 28th, 2006 1:25 PM

On my first playthrough, I was at about 48 hours before somebody borrowed my game and deleted my sav file. -_- I decided to train every Pokémon I had, which is why I took forever.

If I'm trying to beat the game fast, I could do it in about 8 hours.

Mudkip85 December 28th, 2006 1:32 PM

My gameplay time on Fire Red is about 46:21, but my longest gameplay is 119:45 on my sapphire version. Trust me gameplay time does add up when you attempt to catch feebas!

haha, Ditto on that one! (pun intended)

My longest gameplay was around 112, on my original Blue version (first I ever got). It took me 3 bleeding hours to find out how to exit my house. (I was 8 or 9, and I didn't read the directions, so... don't judge! hahaha).

Now on the remakes I can beat the game in around 30, get a killer team by 40 or 50.

After I beat the games on any Pokemon game, I usually retire my game team and start to build up a specialized team of my favourite type, with EVs and such. I rarely focus on finishing my Pokedex... I have to fight to catch Pokemon in order to get some of the items the Aids give you, but besides that, making a complete Pokedex is low on my Pokemon list of things to do.

shanecdavis December 29th, 2006 3:28 AM

My FireRed has 285 hours on it. I spent most of the time breeding until I got Emerald. Now I don't use FR too much. My LeafGreen version I will reset constantly, trading over TMs, Rare Candies, etc., to my Emerald cart, along with teaching Move Tutor moves to selected Pokes. My Emerald version is now my breeding cart, with over 500 hours. I haven't used it much lately though. Too busy.

hamadf December 29th, 2006 8:09 AM

I had about 500 hours on sapphire but my friend whos a pokefreak:P played firered and it locked at 999 hours. He can wander around for hours on XD or colloseum (spelling) trying to turn the snagged pokemon into normal pokemon without getting bored

I prefer to use my Sapphire or Ruby version to trade over that kind of stuff - you don't need to play the game all the way through to be able to trade with Emerald. I usemyLeaf Green to trade over Pokemon. It's like a double cross: I constantly retart my Fire Red version to trade over to my Leaf Green version, which I in turn trade over to my Emerald. LOL

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ December 30th, 2006 5:08 PM

my hours are 260 and I'm not proud of it

Doesn't longer play hours make you look weak? I mean, if you haven't beat the game at all (If you have then it's just your dedication to the game I guess)

Oh yeah, mine is 139:30

J December 31st, 2006 7:31 PM

I've got 120 hours.
There was one time, I left my GBASP recharging when it was on. D:

_Prince_ January 6th, 2007 11:25 PM

Meh... I have played over 600 hours something. ^^'
No wonder I have over 90 pokemon at a high level and all those breedings I did took a long time.

Sprite February 3rd, 2007 4:22 PM

In Fire Red my time is 69:50. I started a new game about a week ago.

mrplanters February 3rd, 2007 4:33 PM

I have like 66 hours on my sapphire. And i'm not too proud of it. But hey pokemon is like the only game i play consistently now.

Bomberman February 3rd, 2007 7:11 PM

I don't play LG much anymore. First file was 50 hours, started over recently and am at 10. Sapphire is at 180, Emerald at 85, XD and 80, and Collosseum at 45.

Mrbadboy3 February 6th, 2007 5:06 PM

my colosseum maxed out at 99:59 so I have no clue what my time is anymore and the rest of my games together probably around 1200

davidm February 10th, 2007 9:25 AM

if u play pokemon on vba and you want to finish it fast about 5 hours but if your on a real gameboy it takes much longer because of all of the annoying pokemon coming up whilst your in the grass

羨望 February 10th, 2007 1:13 PM

Well,I more like caring breeder that battler,Sometimes i battle with some trainers to level up but mainly i just trying to complete my Kanto Dex.
My time is,Let me check(load fast)There we go the DS loaded.
My time:57:28

Smarties-chan February 11th, 2007 12:18 AM

If I remember correctly, I had about 120 hours of play time during my last playthrough on Firered. However, do to my Emerald file getting corrupted, (I accidentally switched off the power while saving. There goes 268 hours of playtime, my only shiny and over 20 Pokémon I spent alot of time on training. <.<) I started a new game to get some TMs for my new Emerald file, but haven't been bothered to play that much. I have around 30 minutes of playtime on my current save. x__x

Xylitol February 11th, 2007 9:04 AM

I've got 294:41 on my Fire Red now. Also over 500 hours on Sapphire. Too lazy to check Crystal and Yellow if they have any more. I've done it a few times in Crystal around the time I got it, but otherwise I've never restarted my games. I get attached to my bits of data. ;P

ok91170 February 11th, 2007 11:38 AM

my time on lg is 15 minutes. i restarted this morning

Cinders February 15th, 2007 4:52 PM

I have 166 hours on my Ruby... Sucks because my pokedex is 163, and for a long while my pokedex was higher than my time! But I started "hunting" shinies on route 2 for like eight hours...

Star Girl February 16th, 2007 8:15 PM

I have 65:33 on my LeafGreen version. A lot of this time was cumulated from probably what would be considered excessive training since I was continually whooping the NPCs in battles and badly may I add. The only NPC's Pokemon I had trouble with was the Blastoise that belonged to my rival during the faceoff in the Elite Four.

Samson February 16th, 2007 9:54 PM

right near 110... which is surprising because i only play when i'm on the bus o.o

i do leave my DS on a lot...

Archer February 16th, 2007 10:46 PM

On my FR i have 291:05 but stopped playing since i got Coloseum

Kraka-chan February 17th, 2007 5:20 AM

Okay... <thinks>
It takes me about less than 80 hours game time to get to the Elite Four. Most of the time is spent catching and raising a variety of Pokemon that will get me through the majority of the game (and I don't mean the HM slaves).

In LG, I think I might have clocked up over 130 hours worth of game time. In Ruby, I did over 200.

Jorah February 17th, 2007 1:07 PM

On my first file I had over 100, but then I started again and then got Emerald, so now I only have about 40 hours because I play on Emerald more. I think my Emerald has about 160 hours on it

~Seadra~ March 4th, 2007 5:10 PM

I have 45:21 on my FireRed file right now, and LeafGreen is at 117:06. I normally just breed pokémon and raise levels on my team (I'm determined I'll have at least one level 100 of every pokémon someday).

Absolitude March 4th, 2007 7:50 PM

I think i have about 101 hours on emerald, i don't know my time on gold, and blue because i can't check anymore cause i don't have a gba. But now that you mention it, i'll go look for some shinies.

ChrisG14 March 7th, 2007 9:58 AM

I've got 124 hours and more on Emerald, that's my highest,

Naruto The 6th Hokage March 12th, 2007 10:15 AM

FireRed 127:34
Leafgreeb 99:76
Emerald 533:22

BassFace March 14th, 2007 7:10 PM

I've clocked a pretty pathetic 7:32 on my Fire Red game. I'm only at the Rock Tunnel, so it kind of makes sense.

I've got a lot more time on my Emerald version - 144:09. It only took about 48 hours to complete the actual game, but I spent the rest of the time trying to fill out my Hoenn Pokedex so I could get one of the Johto starters as a reward. :) Out of all my games, my Crystal file has been going the longest, 201 hours and 40 minutes.

But yeah... I'm one of those people who goes around reading every sign and talking to every single person in the game. I also tend to spend a long time in grassy areas training my Pokemon.

Live Update King March 15th, 2007 9:56 AM

I have 900 on my Emraid. 125 On my firered its 235 and the others are around 100

RYOUKI March 19th, 2007 12:34 AM

ltr_17 April 6th, 2007 6:21 AM

Do you by any chance wash your games in soapy water or are they all emulated?

Oh FR - 300+ hrs

LawLessChaoz April 12th, 2007 6:48 PM

I always resatrt after I trade over all my good pokemon to my emerald.

Always and Never April 12th, 2007 9:20 PM

Well on my FireRed I have 0:01 minute because I've been trying to get a shiny Charmander. It never appears and I hate it DX

I seriously hope the dang thing dies.

Melody April 12th, 2007 10:23 PM

I have 342+hours on my emerald file. And it is in perfect condtion...
