The next time somone wants to upset you, just turn your back on them and walk away, just to show them that it doesn't affect you. They'll eventually stop when they realise who don't give a rat's bottom about them.

It aint that easy when you have to sit next to them in classes. And have no choice but listen to them.

doesn't matter January 16th, 2007 8:49 PM

Just ignore them. Don't even look at them or acknowledge their existence.

And besides, your teacher's would be glad to assist you with any problems in the class room. Just inform them of your situation, and I'm sure that they'll think of some excuse to move them.

And if they do find out it was you who moved them, who cares?! They should no that they're a bunch of morons who have no respect for you.

Ho-Oh January 16th, 2007 8:54 PM

Knowing the teachers..I've already asked to be moved..about 5 times. Same people say that teacher is deaf. But..meh, They're improving..a little.

You should talk to the teacher's after class and tell them why you want to be moved. Or, if that isn't working, get your parents to call up and have them request that something be done about it.

You have to show more initiative Nica and try to get this fixed.

...You do have a choice. If you're not willing to sink down at their level and bother them or pursue vendetta, just do as Ray said, ignore them. Those people merely want to see you upset, and you're not to give them that pleasure. Teacher's aren't always kind and understanding, and it's always better to sort your ways out of these kind of problems by yourself-- after all, that's what will define your stance towards life itself.

Mario Famous January 16th, 2007 11:18 PM

I agree, they'll give up eventually if you ignore them. Making a good reputation for yourself doesn't hurt either. Lol, your going to have to find a way to do that yourself though.

My grandparents don't need to be alerted of anymore school problems.

I would sort the problem out myself..it's just that they are the popular ones everyone likes..so no-one else could back me up anyway.

Ow..My foots sore.

Nah, not the solution, I wouldn't say it was the teachers responsible though, I don't even know if I'd even blame the kids, I blame the parents, if they raise them to be kids who can't do nothing much than bully, then so be that.

Yeah, but a lot of kids get bullied everywhere, and weirdly enough, as they get older, the bullying starts to increase, and not only that, when your around other kids, you've got a bigger chance of it happening, and beleive it or not, it's probably worse than it was 4 years ago.

They won't go down without a tap on the back saying stop, but somehow, I just can't seem to pull that off, like I get bullied A LOT at school for my intelligence, being either called a 'boff' and stuff like that, those are the ones that REALLY get on my nerves.

Bullies are idiots, they have nothing else better to do with their lives except from making people unhappy =/ I find it funny how cowardly they are when their "Gang" isn't with them XD

I've never been bullied badly really, only a few names and so on, but I can imagine what bullying came be like. My older sister was accused for something she didn't do when she was at my school, everyone started calling her names (Fatty and stuff like that, even though my sister was really skinny O_o This went on for a couple of years I think of constant bullying) In the end my sister started starving herself for a few months before collapsing on the school field. You should've seen my mum when she found out, she went straight to my school and demanded to see the people who were doing it (I was only like, 4 at the time or something. I still remember it though) and made them apologize, she told all of their parents about it aswell; Even my sisters best friend turned against her =/ In the end, people found out that my sister didn't do what she was accused of so they stopped the bullying.

Makes you wonder sometimes if your friends are actually your friends >_>

Fickle friendships are quite common during your school days though. There will always be people who will try to be your friend in order to get something from you, whatever that may be. But those people usually aren't hard to find.

Good, true friends exist too, and you will always know who they are. They'll always have your back when you're in trouble and they're always willing to listen.

I'm quite lucky in that I've never been bullied. I mean, I've been in a load of physical and verbal fights during my high school years, but I've never been systematically broken down by a person or a group of people. A lot of people hated me or disliked me for different reasons

It does tend to be the shy, quiet people who seem to be the target for most bullies, probably because the bullies know if the victim wont shout back then there's no chance they wont fight back. And I was quite loud mouthed in school. And, since I had a fairly big group of friends, some of which preferred talking with their fists, I got pulled into a lot of fights.

Speaking of bullying, does/did your school's anti-bullying policy suck? I know mine did. There were roughly 2-3 bullies in every single class when I started in Year 7, and less than 1 per class was permanently excluded by the time I left in Year 11. The teachers knew who the bullies were, they just really didn't do much to prevent their behaviour.

Sammi January 17th, 2007 6:42 AM

Emma -- Wow, that story is pretty terrible. I hate it when people just get away with messing with people, and even more so when it starts causing serious harm. I've read some stories, and they really weren't pretty. Luckily, I haven't been there. ^^;; *hides*

I don't know why... but I've pretty much always been the shy and quiet type, and I have never had a single problem with bullies, ever. The worse I had was a few people who thought I was gullible. I've never gotten into any sort of fight or anything. (If I had, I probably wouldn't be here XD *is very weak and wimpy*)
I didn't even have a group of friends. I was the one that ate alone at some random table at lunch, who didn't go out with anyone on the weekends, who didn't even seem to have friends. And yet, no one dared to bully me at all, not even pick on me.

Sometimes I'm boggled by it -- I sound like one of those kids that people would LOVE to pick on, since I would make a pretty easy target. Small, shy, quiet... :/ Hm.

Dawson January 17th, 2007 7:00 AM

Yeah, it sounds like you would've been a prime target for bullies, maybe you were just lucky then. Or there was something about you that repelled the bullies. Either way, it's not something I'd care too much about. XD

My little brother was bullied for a little while when he was 6-7 years old by a kid 3 years older than him, so he was my age. But my brother didn't tell anyone about it. It was only when I actually saw him getting punched and kicked by this kid that I knew what was going on.

Obviously, I stepped in and beat the crap out of the kid. I can tolerate a lot of bad stuff in life, but bullying a younger kid, who also happens to be my little brother, just sends me into a rage. So, yeah, the bullying stopped after that.

Unfortunately though, this guy's older brother was an even bigger thug and bully. And he told his brother that I was "picking on him". So his brother, who I think was 2-3 years older than me, came up to me one day with a couple of friends and proceeded to pound the crap out of me. I thought back as best as I could, but when you're outnumbered and they're bigger and stronger than you, there's only gonna be one outcome.

And just to add a final touch to the carnage they caused, during the beat down, the older brother pulls out a pocket knife and stabs me in the side of the stomach. I still have the scar now, it's about an inch and a half wide.

But there's a happy ending to this story. That guy died just after christmas in a car accident. He stole a car and crashed it into the side of a house. And everyone who ever knew him cheered.

Jolty-kun January 17th, 2007 8:50 AM

Woot, back from school. xD
Nah, i'm not a nerd, although people may portray me that way, but if you get to know me, you'll find out why I actually have friends. XD
I'm barely even a 'smartest' kid anymore, they just can't get 2005 out of their head, i'm not a nerd, I don't read books for pleasure, I don't study and 24/7 and I certainly do not do puzzles! XD
Nah, i'm only joking, I'm happy that i'm smart, but I just wish for once people'd see that. o_o

Emma January 17th, 2007 9:02 AM

My sister was 14 when it happened I think. My sister used to like school, but over those couple of years she absoloutely hated it =/ what was even worse, that even one of the teachers started picking on her by giving her quite a few detentions for nothing and swearing at her. Once my mum caught her doing that, because my mum was going to the school to pick my sister up for a doctors appointment, my mum entered the classroom where my sister was (the other students were out by now because it was break) alone with the teacher who was swearing at my sister, my mum got her fired because of this. It turns out that the teacher had been doing similar things like this to students before.

I'm quite shy and quiet too, normally XD but if someone I don't even know decides to call me something I always say something back; they usually walk off without saying another word XD

I've been in a few fights before with one of my friends, last year we had a fall out and in the end we found out that neither of us did anything bad and that it was actually someone else XD Basically for about 2 months straight we were randomly hitting each other and stuff; sometimes it got bad ._.;

There used to be bullies in my class in year 7-8, but they were all expelled and sent to another school (yay). But most of the time, if one of the good people in our class hits (Or kicks, whatever xD) some in self-defence, they end up getting punished the most than the person who actually started it and did more damage. =/

Drummershuff January 17th, 2007 9:11 AM

Mhmm, I got bulled in Year...5. It got so bad that I was moved to a different school, I can't really remember what happened, but some of the people that bullied me were 'friends'. I can remember that it was more verbal abuse than physical, but my teacher and I didn't get along very well so she didn't really do anything about it.

Anyway, I was really scared about moving school but it turned out fine. The friends I made at the new school in Years 5 and 6 are still my friends today, and I still hang around with them. When I first went to secondary school my parents asked if a certain child would be put in different classes to me, due to him being one of the people that bullied me, and that was done. Although, he actually apologized to me in Year 8, and we started vaguely talking again...I still wouldn't trust him, though.

Eruption January 17th, 2007 10:19 AM

I've never been like bullied over a samll period of time but theere is this one kid in my year who ocasionally does stuff to me yesterday he pulled some of my hair out when it was gelled up that caused alot of pain.

I'm the same way, actually. I've always been the really quiet kid in class. But I never got bullied either. The closest I'd say I came to be bullied would have been having people jokingly tease me for being quiet. But I can take a joke, and I'm aware of my quietness, so that never bothered me.

Actually, now that I think about it, my school, or at least my class, never had any issues with bullies. My class didn't even have cliques. O_o While of course there were people who didn't like other people, I can't think of a single instance of anyone getting bullied. Guess I got lucky by ending up in what we referred to as "a class of friends".
