To be quite fair, 75% of my class in high school would've considered each other friends. We were the "main" group, about 12 boys and 15 girls. But there was a group of about 6 Pakistani girls that would never talk to anyone outside of their own group. And then there were the 2-3 thug-ish guys that nobody liked. But, yeah, for the most part, our class liked each other. In fact, most people seemed to like the people in their classes, it's just the people in other classes that they hated. It's strange really, it's almost as if every class was a family, and though their were people that didn't get along in the family, a feud never escalated.

And, OMG, Ashley. I saw that picture of your room in your LJ. XD I don't know how the hell you can live like that. XD

Ryoutarou January 17th, 2007 11:37 AM

It was kind of like that for me in my earlier years at school, with each class being like a close family. That all went to Hell in high school though, that's when cliques really set in a I saw a lot of former friends become enemies. Of course, being the lovely city that it was, every clique had some form of law breaking going on in them, which is why I always tried to stay out of them.

I saw that picture too...that's crazy. XD And I thought I had a problem with keeping every thing clean, my room's spotless compared to hers.

Yeah, yeah, I know my room is a mess. XD;; I really don't know how I live like this either. Guess I'm just used to it? XD I'm working on cleaning it up though, really I am~

And yeah, my room makes everyone else's seem completely spotless. I have yet to find one in worse condition than mine. XD;

I've seen bomb explosions cause less mess than that. XD

I'm a neat freak though, everything has to be clean for me. My room at the moment is spotless. Even the closet is neatly organised. But then, I clearly don't have as much stuff as you do. XD And people seem to think it's weird for a 19 year old guy to have a spotless room. But I just like looking after myself. XD

How can you get used to a room like that though? I mean, you can't have much space to move around or put your things with...all that junk already everywhere. XD

My room isn't all that clean, there's stuff here and there, but it's nowhere near as bad as Ashley's. I really don't care about keeping most of my stuff organized, but I at least like keeping it nicer looking than our mess of a living room. Except for the counting water bottles, it probably isn't that bad.

Ha ha ha, very funny. Although... I'm sure that's true. XD;

I'm definitely not a neat freak. But, believe it or not, with everything other than my room, I like things to be as organized as possible. It's just that when it comes to my room, I get too lazy to clean it up. And actually, my closet at the moment is pretty neat. For once, I actually have clothes hung up in there, omg! The reason I have so much stuff is because I'm a packrat... I just can't bring myself to throw anything away. ><; And yeah, I'm sure people think it's weird for an 18 year old girl to have a room that looks like mine... XD

I... don't know. XD My room's been like this for as long as I can remember. I don't spend much time in here anyway. I usually only come into my room when I go to sleep, so I don't need that much room in here. And I've gotten used to just walking right on top of the foot-foot and a half of crap that resides on the floor, so moving around isn't that much of a problem. XD

Quoted because it's just awesome. XD

I've always had my room clean, but I also have people in my room a lot too. I used to have friends come round unexpected and we'd play multiplayer games on the Gamecube or PS2, and I wouldn't want them to walk into a room that looks like..well..yours. XD

And then there are girls, I can't go bringing them back to a place that looks a huge mess. Well, I could, but I doubt they'd be very impressed with me if I did. So I need to keep up appearances. XD

Then there's my mom, who'd yell at me for 10 minutes as a kid if the bedroom wasn't clean and organised. And I guess that's just stuck with me as I've grown up.

So, let me get this straight. You don't spend that much time in your room. You're usually only in there to sleep. So, somehow, the room still gets so freaking messy? I'd hate to see what your room would be like if you actually spent some time in it. XD I can't imagine ever having my room that dirty. My mom's always told me I suck at cleaning my room, but seriously, it's nothing compared to how bad you let yours go. XD My room's already pretty sucky for walking in, the second you open the door, you're greeted by a large computer desk and a chair that make it kind of hard to get in...which is good for keeping people out actually.

My closet is actually pretty neat, at least neater than the rest of my room. We only have two closests, so I like having stuff neat so I don't end up having to dig through everyone else's clothing every time I need to find me some clothes to take a shower.

My mom does that for hours and she's done it for years, it never really made me want to clean. I just learned to block the complaining out of my mind whenever she says that my room is too dirty.

Sounds like me :x I have a tough time throwing anything away, whether it's an old drawing that was stepped on a crumpled, or a pair of old shoes >.>;; I'm a hoarder. *cough*

My room is a natural disaster sometimes xD I don't know what happens, really. One day it's clean, two days later it looks like a swamp of clothes and random things I don't even remember owning in the first place OwO;

Of course, it only takes a good half hour to fix, but no matter how much time I have in a day, I can never seem to sort it out right. *shrugs* And it's astonishing how many clothes I have that I'd never wear anyway. I feel like such an old miser, keeping all sorts of things I don't need at all. xD;

How on earth do you do it? Somehow everyone I know has a nice neat room, and yet.. I can't even manage to keep mine really clean for more than a few weeks xDDD

Yeah, see... no one goes in my room. The last time I had one of my friends come in my room... was probably when I was 13-ish. And when I knew people would be coming over, I'd push things out of the way to make my room appear neater. All of my gaming systems are in the living room where our big TV is, so I never needed to bring people in my room to play video games.

As for my parents... yeah, they yell at me about it. A lot. As does my grandmother. But I've gotten used to their yelling for the most part.

Um... yes. XD Well, I think if I spent more time in here, I'd want it to be neater. The fact that I only come in here at night is what causes the mess. I throw my clothes and other random things onto the floor and everything just builds up. If I were actually in here a lot more, I think I'd actually make an effort to make it look nicer.

My closet is usually neat mainly because I don't use it. XD; And that's mainly because I find it difficult to get to my closet in the first place, so yeah... XD

Don't you guys think it'd just be easier to make a little extra effort to keep the room clean rather than having to listen to constant complaining? That's the way I always looked at it. XD

I always spent most of my time in the house in my bedroom, since there were always a load of people in our house and the only place to get any privacy and peace at all was in your room. And my parents would never let us have our consoles in the living room, so they always stayed in our bedrooms. I wish we could've had them in the living room, so we could've played games whilst sitting on the sofa as opposed to the bed or the floor.

You could at least get yourself a clothes basket or something to throw the stuff in at night. XD I spent a lot of time in my room, but I still don't really go out of my way to make it look neat. I clean up every now and then, but that's really about it. It'd just explode and be like your room if I didn't spend a lot of time here. XD I've never really cared about how clean my room is because usually no one ever comes over and I've got no reason to make it look all that good. I suppose it'd probably be cleaner if I had people come over, but there's a high chance that it wouldn't. A few years ago, my room was basically the "storage room" of the house and we had like five unused beds stacked up that I used as one bed, the place was a mess, but it was awesome. If my room was more like that, I wouldn't mind it being that dirty.

Of course you don't use your closet, half of your wardrobe is already out on the floor. XD

I always point my mom in the direction of the living room that she's been "cleaning up" for nearly two years now. It doesn't always work, but it's enough. I am planning on cleaning this weekend though, I haven't cleaned in a while. I guess I'll try to keep it clean this time, it shouldn't be that hard if you of all people can do it.

I'm like that too! I mean, I have everything and anything in my room: random pretty bottles that should've been thrown away, old school papers I'll never use again, tons of clothes, even my old writing and some candy wrappers. The only time I'll throw something away is if it's been ruined beyond keeping, or I just don't want it *that* bad.

Mine's like that too... well, kind of. Where the clothes are actually on the hanger, ti's super neat. However, after that, it goes downhill. I've found that my big closets are very nice to pack my extra junk in. Beyond that, everything is just crazy. It's all stuff here and there.

My room is not terribly messy... I'll clean up the floor when need be. All that's there is clothes, which are easily stuffed somewhere else, and some video games (I have the PS2 in my room 8D) which can go to the side.
However, I cannot organize anything on the shelves, in my barely-used dresser, and in my closet. I have no reason to organize them. It's all junk I never ever use.

If my parents ask me to clean my room (which they rarely do, my room is nowhere near as bad as my brother's), it's a ten-minute job, twenty tops. I love it. I hardly get yelled at for my room, and if I do, it's a very very easy job.
If anything, my room needs a quick pick-up and a good sweeping. o.o

My room used to be pretty bad though. That was when I had toys and junk when I was little. :/ My sister and I would throw them all on the floor. It was a pain sometimes.
I... don't think it was so bad I could walk over everything though. XD;

That's weird~ I'm the complete opposite X3; I've always wanted a console in my room~ We keep it in the family room or the spare room.. ._. and when my Mom wants to watch something, we always have to turn the console off or split the TV in half.. but when we do that, my side never has sound and mom always makes the box-thing smaller ._.;~

My room is always really clean, but my mom complains about it anyways ._.;~

Not having any game consoles, I really wouldn't know what that problem is like. When me and my brother shared a room, he would always make the most kick ass of set ups and we'd both be happy, it was awesome. Even with everything I do to try and keep people out of my room, they still bug the Hell out of me too often, it's so hard to get any form of privacy in this place. I just lock the door when I'm the only one in here so no one will be able to barge in and start bugging me, which my mom does a lot.

Not everyone is a clean freak though. No one in my house is. And it is kinda difficult to put everything away when you're a packrat living in a room with very little storage space...

Um, in my case, it would take A LOT more effort to clean up. XD; Meh, I'm sure they're all used to it by now too. Although my stupid sister is starting to take after me by letting her room become a mess as well. And that just gets me into trouble. <<;

The reason our consoles are in the living room is so my sister and I can share them. If they were in our bedrooms, we'd probably fight over them or something, so it's easier to leave them in the living room. And there's only five people living in my house, and of the five, only three use the living room, so yeah.

Compared to Sammi and Ashley, I do seem to be at a huge advantage in that I don't really have much stuff compared to you guys. XD In my room, I have my bed in one corner, my TV stand in the opposite corner, with the Wii and DVD player on. Next to that I have a vertical DVD tower. In the other corner is the closet with my clothes in the main storage part and my books and coursework in the bottom drawers. And next to my bed I have a small three tier shelf with remote controls, my drink and a lamp on. Anything else I don't use either goes in the attic or, if I have no use for it anymore, the bin. I have no problem getting rid of stuff. XD

Exactly! I collect really random things that I find cool and just can't bear to ever throw them away. I have tons of school papers that I can't throw away even though I know I'll never look at them again. Most of those are in the attic though, not in my room. And I have some candy wrappers and stuff like that too... XD

There's no more room on my shelves or in my drawers to stick things, which is why most everything ends up on the floor or on my desk or dresser. ><;

My room is never a ten minute job... it's more like a ten day job when it's at its best. XD;; Actually though, I think I can get it cleaned up before I move back to my dorm on Sunday if I really try. It's mostly just laundry anyway.

Get another basket for all of your stuff? It's really pointless to have them if they just keep stacking up with more crap. XD There are like four different baskets in my room, three more boxes and one shelf, only the shelf has anything that belongs to me, everything else is stuff we have yet to unpack even after living here for two years. My mom is such a pack rat and she keeps saying she's going to throw crap out, but she never does.

I didn't see the insult in my post until you said that, thanks for pointing it out. XD I can usually keep other rooms clean, it's just my room that I don't like having to deal with that much. When it gets too dirty, I'll do something about it, but I couldn't care less half of the time.

XD
My room's got a bunch of boxes stacked up against the left side with a huge empty trash can that we never seem to use. A random chair with lots of small boxes on it. One small shelf with my socks and crap and on top of that, random Japanese stuff I've bought over the years, my alarm clock and a plate of food that I'm working on. Next to that is my bed, on the other side of my bed is a messload of trash that will not be there by this weekend. The upper right corner of my room has a pretty big shelf with a TV and DVD player and my manga and DVDs all on the shelf. Then there's the closet entrance and next to that is my computer desk and next to that is the door.

I wish we could've had them in the living room, so we could've played games whilst sitting on the sofa as opposed to the bed or the floor.

I know how that feels. I go to my bedroom a lot to just listen to music. I really don't like doing it outside in the living room, it's too busy, and I'm usually too lazy to take a walk.
I bet I'd hardly leave it if I had the computer in there. XD

I rather like the consoles in my bedroom, if you ask me. But then again, I live with a stepdad who hogs the TV most of the day when he's home, and a little brother who takes it the rest of the time. Before I got the PS2 in my room, I only got to play it when my stepdad was gone and my brother wasn't using it. It was good in the summer, since we were home when my stepdad was gone, but once school was in again, I hardly got any time to the PS2 at all. :/

I was lucky I got it in my room in the first place -- it started when I joked about it. Eventually, my stepdad went "okay, I don't play it anyway, so you can just take it." I was shocked, since it's still new and all o.o;

The only bad thing about having it in my room is the bed, but I get used to it pretty easy. :3

Exactly! I collect really random things that I find cool and just can't bear to ever throw them away. I have tons of school papers that I can't throw away even though I know I'll never look at them again. Most of those are in the attic though, not in my room. And I have some candy wrappers and stuff like that too... XD

I know. But... it's like throwing away memories... I can't do it at all. T_T

I was really upset when I found out one of my old notebooks was peed on by my cats. Even though I don't want to read it again, I still had to throw it away... what if I change my mind someday? I can't access it anymore, it's in some dump somewhere. Gah. D:

My room is never a ten minute job... it's more like a ten day job when it's at its best. XD;; Actually though, I think I can get it cleaned up before I move back to my dorm on Sunday if I really try. It's mostly just laundry anyway.

Oh dear. :x That's probably why my room is still so clean -- I have places to place the extra junk. If I didn't, it'd probably look more like yours.

My desk was really messy, when I still had it anyway. I had to give it up when the computer desk broke in shipping. </3 I miss it, it was another place to put junk, and a place to write alone.

Well, you better get started then, shouldn't you? :D *shot*

XD There are like four different baskets in my room, three more boxes and one shelf, only the shelf has anything that belongs to me, everything else is stuff we have yet to unpack even after living here for two years. My mom is such a pack rat and she keeps saying she's going to throw crap out, but she never does.

...that's just worse, you really gotta do something about it. XD

There's no room for anymore baskets. ><; I already have *counts* nine boxes of stuff in my room, so adding more baskets or boxes wouldn't help any.

Fine, fine. I'll go do some laundry now. I guess once two baskets full of clothes start to overflow, it's time to wash them. XD;

I know! I always fear that the second I throw something away, I'm going to need it for something. So that's why I keep everything. I just can't throw anything out. ><;

Yeah, I wish my room had more storage space, but it doesn't.

My desk is actually neat right now. I cleaned it up last night. My laptop actually fits on my desk! It's amazing. XD

I started cleaning last night, actually. And I shall get working on it again right now~

Um, in my case, it would take A LOT more effort to clean up. XD; Meh, I'm sure they're all used to it by now too. Although my stupid sister is starting to take after me by letting her room become a mess as well. And that just gets me into trouble. <<;

But if you were to clean it up properly now, and then just spend five or ten minutes each day cleaning up, you'd find it a hell of a lot easier to keep it tidy. XD "A stitch in time saves nine." Dunno if you've heard that expression before, but that's pretty much what I do.

My brothers and I were more respectful than that though, we didn't mind each other playing the consoles in our rooms. But that's probably because up until I was 14 I was sharing a bedroom with my little brother. But our living room always is, and always has been, full. My parents spend most of their time in there, my aunt and uncle are usually in there, older cousins coming to visit and my parents friends are usually in there. You rarely get to find a seat in that room.

My room doesn't even have a paper bin. Any rubbish or anything that I have in my room I take outside and put it straight into the trash can there.
And I don't have a desk anymore, since I have a laptop. But when I did the desk was the messiest part of the room. Since it had a load of disks and school work plus a bunch of other stuff in there. So I'm glad I got rid of that now.

You should just randomly rummage through your drawers.. and if you find something new, throw it out. That's because if you forgot about it, you wouldn't be able to use it anyways if you needed it because you wouldn't have remembered it.

Or just think of all the things you could use it for.. and if you can just say "Egh, it's not hard to just do it again" (such as worksheets or something for homework) then throw it out. Like.. I throw out all my tests and worksheets and I only need my notes. That's because the tests and worksheets are both based on the notes.. and all you'd have to do is read the notes over again to understand it.
