Latie is just so cute :) It's obvious that she's more popular then her bro :)

Robo Latias!

Yes, I know it's not very good, but I suxx0rs at drawing and I just had to make her a robo. Well, I think I get creativity points for it at least; I've never seen anybody draw her as a robot before o.o;

That's pure evil! Run for your lives!!!! Personally(plus no sarcasm), I don't really liked that concept.

Arghh... Why Latias is more pop than her bro?! Why!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Oh shut up Ash493... Xp

Yeah, it does seem to be common that people like Latias more, and that people believe they resemble Lugia. Though I personally think they're crazy! :P

Yeah, when I first seen 'em, I thought they're Lugia's supposed to be bros or sis or something. I'm crazy at that time! >.>

I've been forgetting to post for so long...

Well back to reaffirm my interests in the Lati's again...

txteclipse July 27th, 2009 9:15 PM

So I went to Comic-Con this year, and I found this little PVC Latias figurine. I really wanted it, but it was $30! Long story short, I passed it up. I just couldn't believe such a tiny rubber figurine could cost so much. Even more popular legendaries like Giratina only went up to $15: the only other one that cost $30 was Mudkip.

i have latias and latios in shiny and normal i love it !

Oh hey! Welcome back! At least to me, the Latis are too awesome to ever forget about. xD

$30??!?! I have the exact same figure and I got it off eBay for less than a buck! D:

Yeah, I noticed that. In fact, I'm kind of on a collectible hunting binge right now. This is my primary target:

Man this place is slow. Anyway, I have my first figurine acquisition: the Tenth Anniversary Latias figurine sold at Seven-Elevens in Japan. I had to repaint quite a bit of it, but it seems to have come out fairly well.

That looks cool. But it ain't so cool without her bro. And that clay figurine is awesome too.

Ah... kinda looks like she's trying to fly out of some gray mud or something Oo

I'm pretty sure it's clouds, but it does look kind of odd now that you mention it.

EDIT: At below: the clouds were actually originally painted that color. I just touched them up in certain areas.

Volta. August 16th, 2009 3:33 PM

lol a little bit, though it looks fine to me. Perhaps a paler, light blue would've suited the clouds better. Though I have no idea how it originally looked, so that might've been hell to paint. :0

Anyway, now that my summer job is officially over, I might be able to spend a bit more time here ... at least until school starts. XD

There's still a Lati art piece I've been trying to work on for a while now. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it in the coming weeks.

Lusankya September 1st, 2009 6:48 PM

So yeah, I have a deviantart now, with an astonishing 5 things on it! :O

Nice pic. But I have to admit that her neck is quite... uhh... thick.

Never let this thread die!

Volta. September 2nd, 2009 3:19 PM

I like it! The shadows could use a bit of work, but the lineart and composition is spot-on! I'll be sure to watch you on deviantART! ;P

I have a Lati-pic that's been halfway done for the past month... I really should finish it. =_=

♣Gawain♣ September 3rd, 2009 8:11 AM

I would really like to see your works, and I wish I can do photoshop as good as you all.

txteclipse September 3rd, 2009 11:50 AM

Nice work there, Lusankya. Is the background a brush?

Yeah it's a brush. I got kinda lazy ^^; Never been good with backgrounds, Latis are about the only thing I can draw. =.=

A few tips I can give are:

Try not to shade with black. Black gives everything a fake, plasticky look. A good color to shade with is a deep purple, applied little by little. Or, you can try shading with a darker, more saturated version of the color you are shading.

When shading, use long, relaxed strokes. You had the right idea with the top of her head. But at her left shoulder, the brush strokes are a little more evident.

Don't be afraid to use the smudge tool after painting shadows! If after you're done painting, things still look a little blotchy, try smudging things with a weak, but large feathered brush.

Lusankya September 3rd, 2009 4:56 PM

I was actually using the burn tool ^^; I guess it doesn't work so well on white. >_>

Good brush tips. The only problem is that I need help in transferring images to other images, kinda like to but them together. Plus the layering, I need help 'cause I'm confused.

Hmm. Care to be more specific? Because I might be able to help you more if I knew a bit more about your issue. ^^;

Meanwhile, here's a manga image of Latios:

Some moderately good news: I've actually touched Photoshop over the last few days. I might be able to get that Latias picture done! xD

♣Gawain♣ September 6th, 2009 9:28 PM

I've seen that pic on MangaFox many months ago, and it's from the Battle Frontier right?

What I mean is, it's like copy pasting. You cut a part of a pic and transfer it to another pic. I've seen people doing that and it makes me confused.

Yeah it is. I actually have the entire Emerald Saga saved on my computer since the Latis play a fairly important role in the series. xD

Hmm, that's not too difficult. I like to use the Polygonal Lasso Tool (you right-click on the normal Lasso Tool and switch it to that). When you use that, you can be very accurate when creating a selection around what you want to cut/copy from one picture, and then you can simply paste it into another. I might be able to do a visual tutorial if you're still confused. xD
