To clear up the weather condition issue

I had a disscusion like this on serebii so I wanted to move it here.

It seems people thought the stuff falling down mt chimney was ash but infact it was snow.

When I was rom hacking I discovered that there was a snow weather condition in the game.( I am usings Zels shiny gold for this experiment BTW) also the reason I am using FireRed is because 1. I dont have a Ruby rom, 2. Firered runs on a circuit board so its more stable and 3. FireRed contains the same data as Ruby.

Now I saved the snow weather condition into new bark town and wolla its snowing( see how it resembles the supposed ash falling from Mt Chimney)

Now to test the other condition(this test is just random BTW)

So infact gamefreak never added ash to the 3rd Gen, all they did was add snow to Mt Chimney to make it seem like it was ash tricking so many people in the process( except for me hehehe).

I will post more beta stuff when I have the time(and when I can be bothered lol).

I can counter this:

1. If you go to the house in the area the guy gives you a "Soot Sack" to collect "Ashes"
2. The area is really close to Mt. Chimney
3. Some of the people around the area talk about that it is warm or hot
4. One of the people you fight says, "I use my parosal to protect my Numel from the "Ashes"

Like I said, the weather condition is snow, but GF made it seem like it was ash and it tricked som many perople in thre process.

Thats not a counter.

I think what SuperLatios is trying to say is that GF just used the programming for snow and called it Ash. I don't really mind, considering it can go both ways as far as looks are concerned.

But who knows, maybe the ROM hack was just using the program for ash and calling it snow.

I'm no ROM expert, so I can't really say much about the technicalities. lol

when rom hacking, certain stuff cannot be changed, so the weather condition remained untouched.

they didnt change program into ash cause they thought we were dumb, but we are not.

I don't believe you.

The first screenshot is clearly from a ROM hack (how SPPf would admit that for discussion is beyond me) helper and nothing that would be distributed by Nintendo. The weather dropdown also does not show the whole list of selections. Plus which, there are no geographical areas in any of the Game Boy Advance games from what I know that require snow per se.

Thats because I only shown the important ones, I couldnt show all of the weather conditions cause it was too many.

I know there is none, what I am getting at is that they had snow in the game, but they made it seem like it was ash by the soot in the grass.

note - this time I used a clean unedited emerald rom.

This thread is so pointless, and it just going to end up being a huge fight. There is a ton of proof in the games that it is probably not snow, but who knows.
