The pokemon you all gave up on...

...is the pokemon that's raking in the shadow pokemon for me :P

For some odd reason, I decided to train my Dunsparce after I'd purified it (likely because I have an odd facination with Dunsparce)...as I continued to train it, I found out that it's actually very durable. I can destroy most non-shadow pokemon with a single Take Down, which even surprises me! But the amazing thing is that I used Dunsparce to capture all three legendary dogs and all other shadow pokemon as far as I've been in the game (I just caught Raikou.) Dunsparce knows Yawn and Glare, so he can put pokemon to sleep with 100% accuracy while fending for himself or can paralyze them if you instantly need an immobilization...right now my Dunsparce is at Level 51 and a beast o_o;; Has anyone else tried Dunsparce on this game? If you ask me, he works wonders...

Latios Master April 26th, 2004 5:29 PM

I haven't raised my purified Dunsparce, but I did raise one in Silver to like level 50, thinking that it would evolve into Gligar. XD
I wasn't that smart back then. :P

I remember not knowing all the evolutions from R/B/Y and G/S too...I remember being horrified when my Remoraid evolved into Octillery...I thought it evolved into Mantine for some reason XP

Sadly, even with Swords Dance it’s hard to use. Without it, it doesn’t stand a chance in real, link battles.

Frostweaver April 26th, 2004 5:48 PM

Dunsparce is any game is way too weak... it lacks speed to pull off rock slide/serene grace combination. Its natural attack power is just base 80 (which isn't that impressive) and its highest attribute of HP is just base 100 as well. Whatever Dunsparce can do, Donphan does it better (except glare and yawn but there's Alakazam for thunderwave and Breloom for esproe... -_-)

Dunsparce is used by some elite battlers on netbattle though to prove that their skill is high above all others (by using such a terribly weak Pokemon to win, it will prove something to others then)

Oh, I was thinking Gligar for some reason when I posted this.

Ahh…it can be an annoyer, but a pretty awful one.

Reptar April 26th, 2004 6:11 PM

I have a really strong luvdisc... I use pokemon that people consider weak. They can actually be really good ^_^

Shinin April 27th, 2004 3:45 AM

I had a strong Farfetch'd in Red version. It was at level 57 when I stopped playing red.

Intuition April 27th, 2004 6:28 AM

Back to the dunsparce.. I never trained a dunsparce because I only train pokemon that I think look cool.. and strong.. especially legendary.. ;)

There are quite a few useless Pokemon, but I'd rather raise a character who I actually like as opposed to one that's technically the better fighter, which is why I chose Girafarig over Alakazam in G/S/C (and no, I didn't raise it as a Baton Passer).

One of my favourite Fire types is Magcargo, but put him out in serious competition and he doesn't stand a chance in heII against the majority of fighters.

stewie&rupert April 30th, 2004 6:27 PM

ratacate can prove a good battle. with super fang it can instintly cut the opponents HP in half. it also has an good speed so super fang can be quick. too bad its the only pkmn that can learn it.

What I shadow Pokemon I gave up on.

None, I have them all :P!

Mightyena should've been able to learn Super Fang. The guy's the epitome of all things bite-related.
