Samson February 5th, 2007 10:18 PM

neat. i can't wait to destroy one in D/P XD

Bomberman February 6th, 2007 6:32 AM

Who exactly is Electivire? Can somebody post a picture of it?

Barboach February 6th, 2007 6:39 AM

Bomberman, I've got a picture of him right here: http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/3057/elekiblezu7.jpg The Top would be Elekible and bottom would be Lucario, but Electivire is seemingly Elekibles name in english.

But we really need an announcment to tell us the truth light trainer.

charizard_maa February 6th, 2007 8:19 AM

Nothing really important really. I mean personity I like the Japanese name since it was shorter but what I can I do to change it? Intretesting name and cleaverly made up.

Seconded what Samson said. Can't wait to beat them up. (It makes the battle much more personal if I know the name of the pokemon I am beating up.)

Elusive February 6th, 2007 9:41 AM

The english names really suck this time. Chatot? Electrivire? Dialga? Palkia? WTF?! ._. I'll be nicknaming all my Pokemon their japanese names.

Thank you, Qeen boo *_*
Electivire is too cool, but other USA names... no, they are bad... ._.!
For example, Dialga and Palkia... or Buizel... Buoysel is the best ._."

No they aren't. What gave you that idea? The japanese names are Diaruga and Parukia which sound MUCH better.

Just a quick explanation. The Japanese alphabet consists of syllables. Not letters that bend and change like ours. So if say, you wanted to say Chad using the Japanese language, it would become Chiyado. It's still exactly the same name just spelt using Japanese characters. Also, the u is Diaruga and Parukia is pronounced pretty fast. I'd dare say you'd barely pick it up. This is noticeable in names such as Asuka and Sasuke. You don't pronounce them ASOOOHKAH or SASOOOOHKAY, right? So with that in mind, Diaruga and Parukia are pronounced exactly the same as Dialga and Palkia, of course it's up to how Japanese you want to be and make your l sound like an r.

Also Electivire is a pretty righteous name.

Auron February 7th, 2007 9:01 AM

Bleh...Elekible sounded better...Much better.

PD: Spanish prononciation of "Asuka" and "Sasuke" are (In English phonems) Asookah and Sasookay....xD

......Watch the english dub of Naruto and you'll get the idea.

It's the same with Buizel v. Buoysel *looks at Marco_Masato*. They're pronounced EXACTLY THE SAME. It's getting annoying how many idiots people are arguing which is better when they're the same name >.>;.

Elusive February 7th, 2007 1:40 PM

But I'm just saying that Diaruga and Parukia sound MUCH MUCH better than Dialga and Palkia. I'll nicknaming them Diaruga and Parukia for sure. Same for Electrivire to Elekible.

Elusive February 8th, 2007 4:19 AM

So I can't have an opinion on names. Thanks. I'll be naming my Dialga Diaruga and Palkia Parukia. Why? Because I prefer those names. Dialga and Palkia just don't sound right to me. Electivire isn't all that good either. Elekible just fits it better. All imo.

Jim February 8th, 2007 7:23 AM

I think it should have been called Elecable or Elekable. (Electricity and Cable obviously).

Alistair February 8th, 2007 10:05 AM

Actually, Electivire is better than what I thought that name it. They did a good job of combining words. (Electric+Volt+Wire=Electivire)

When that opinion is one name sounding better than another when in reality the sound the same, no you can't.

*pulls out hair*

How do they not sound right?? THEY SOUND EXACTLY, 100% THE SAME!!! Dialga = Diaruga and Palkia = Parukia!!!!!!

shanecdavis February 9th, 2007 5:11 AM

Interesting thread. I would like to attempt to clarify this problem we are having here. The point that is trying to be made is that thinking Parukia sounds better (or even different) than Palkia is exactly like thinking "there" sounds better than "their" or "they're". The only difference in both examples is the spelling of the word. Pronouncing it "Pa-ROO-key-ya" is incorrect, but it is your choice to pronounce a word in any fashion you choice, however badly slaughtered that pronunciation is. Now, if you like Parukia better because of the SPELLING, that is a different story.

As for Electivire, personally I believe it sounds much better than Elekible. Elekible sounds more like a pre-evo to Electabuzz than an evo. Elekid -> Elekible -> Electabuzz. Electivire fits better. Of course I don't know any of the Japanese names (besides the three I have learned here), so I am not used to any of them, nor care about any of them, to have a strong opinion for them.

BTW - I do think it ironic that someone with the SCREEN NAME of Electivire prefers a different name. LOL

Auron February 9th, 2007 10:09 AM

Lol, somebody nicknamed upon this Pokémon...

BTW...Anybody knows the English name for Magmar's Evolution ??

PD: Please forget what I said about Spanish prononciation...I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that...xD

I'm Strange like that. But recently I've started to prefer Electivire...

Elekid -> Elekible -> Electabuzz
Someone from Nintendo will come along and read this and have an Idea for the Next Gen... MID-EVOS!!! Lol, That'd be Dumb.

Probably Magburn. Because Buubii = Magby. Buumer = Magmar. So Buuburn Is likley to be Magburn or Magblaze... Never know though with the belly it's got it'll end up as Magsimpson (As in Homer Simpson) Wait A minute someone could make a sprite comic Magsimpson meets Maggie Simpson...
