Do YOU Hate Him?!

I just made this thread to know how much you hate Red.
I really hate him because his first Pokemon is a level 81 Pikachu

By the way if you don't know him- he's the Champion of Kanto.
I'm nothing compared to that guy :(

Jirachi April 28th, 2004 1:12 AM

He is okay. I defeated him VERY easily.

Intuition April 28th, 2004 1:25 AM

Yeah.. He's very helpfull when you want to level up quickly.. you get much
experience from his pokemon's..

Lucifer. April 28th, 2004 8:48 AM

His Pikachu is nothing. If anything it proves that raising unevolved monsters to high levels means diddly squat in the long run. They're still rubbish.

Snorlax is probably his toughest team member if you come unprepared.

Intuition April 29th, 2004 4:08 AM

If you can beat the pokemon league you can definitely beat this guy..
And you can only get to him when you beated the league so
it's easy.. :)

TeamRocket April 29th, 2004 11:17 AM

And if you have all 16 badges. Really i didn't break a sweat battling Red. I thought it wasn't such a big deal.

Sponge_Bartjuh April 29th, 2004 12:48 PM

well I was training there, didn't know he was there. So I talked to him, omg :o My Nidorino lvl 56 was no match for him :P And that was the only pokémon I had with me -.- Ah well, after I went and got my best team, he was too easy.

TeamRocket April 29th, 2004 1:22 PM

Well the mountain is restricted to the most powerful trainers only. I guess that Red was the only one admitted. Why else would he be there? Selling T-Shirts?

Poke'gangster May 6th, 2004 1:45 PM

I don't think red is a pushover. I also have a question?
Do you have disabilities in the Poke'mon games.
Your trainer dude never says a single word.
Red doesn't say a single word eather!
all Red says is .............................
I really want to know wats up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you're shy in the Pokemon in the game?
who knows?

Simon May 6th, 2004 5:11 PM

You were probably born without a voicebox...or you don't talk because you have a freakish voice...or you have no tongue so you can't bend the sounds that come out of your voicebox so it just sounds like a loud drone...or you have bad/no teeth...lots of possibilities...or maybe you just don't have a mouth? But then how would you eat...suck up liquified food through your nose???

Darth Revan May 6th, 2004 5:20 PM

then you haven't finish the game... Red is a trainer deep within Mt. Silver with a lvl 81 Pikachu (OHKO by a lvl 100 Chikorita razor leaf ;p). Strongest Pokemon is definitely not Pikachu, but Snorlax... (5 razor leaf... blah)

Darth Revan May 6th, 2004 5:27 PM

oh do you mean ash???thats the only trainer i fought there he was deep in the place is it ash?

Frostweaver May 6th, 2004 6:23 PM

Red, not ash ;p Ash is a little boy who's tortured by the poor dubbing. Red can be either the boy in the manga, or the protagonist in RBY. The gameboy never draws reference to the anime except for gymleaders and so on (like Haruka is not exaclty named Haruka, but Sapphire)

Kairi May 6th, 2004 6:26 PM

Yellow edition gives you Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur just how Ash gets them in the animé. And it has Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, and Pikachu following you, refusal to evolve. =p

hyrule center May 6th, 2004 6:27 PM

he was easy with my level 100 mewtwo but ash is red says it in the strategy guide

AJHalliwell May 6th, 2004 6:36 PM

Hm, at first I thought Blue was Gary, and all the other games had a similar theme. Red is Ash, same pokemon and everything. And as for talking, i guess nintendo wants to make it seem like you have lots of control over the game! And it can't make possibilities for every single thign you would say, so you say nothing! I've noticed it, but its never really bothered me. What would I say anyway? Haha, many I time I've been told i have nothing good to say...wait, thats a bad thing isn't it?
[edit] - Oh yeah! I beat him by the way, haha. I think i used an Alakazam to hynotize them, then psycic them to death- mwahaha! That and dream-eater. Which is intresting, cause I never really liked psycic pokemon x_x

Evee Trainer May 7th, 2004 1:12 PM

Have you ever tried using all types of Eevee's? Beeing an Eevee Trainer I used all the types of Eevee's at L55(and a bit higher) plus a L50 Donphan i found in MT. Silver and he was easier than beating a L10 Magikarp!

hyrule center May 7th, 2004 1:14 PM

i got another evee name for ya matalion

collin152 May 11th, 2004 5:42 PM

welll.... red is no problem, as long as typlhosian, dragonite, and mewtwo are with me.

Chairman Kaga May 11th, 2004 5:50 PM

All his pokemon usually get massacred by my Ho-oh and Lugia, and I use any ghost type against Snorlax and take him down quite easily (I usually use Misdreavus though...I Perish Song Snorlax then switch out.)

collin152 May 11th, 2004 6:04 PM

ah..... and well.... mewtwo dosen't really see play up against his blastoise.... for some reason, i think it has a chronic fear of them. it cannot fight a blastoise to save it's life. lterally.

dqle May 12th, 2004 8:35 AM

OK, for all those who watch the show, Red resembles Ash and Blue resembles Gary. Will those two be where they are in three years? No one knows. Just refer those two as their 'colors'.

I don't know how Ash's been tortured by the dubbing. From all the Japanese episodes I examined, Ash doesn't seem to have changed all that much when dubbed. Oh, and May from the show is named May in the games if you're a boy, not Saphire nor Ruby. Those two names never appeared in the games.

Anyways, to get back on topic...

I knew that Red had a Pikachu and I knew I could easily beat it. So I played around and used Ho-Oh, but used a useless move. Red was smart enough to attack, so he ordered Pikachu to use an Electric attack (forgot which one). His Pikachu knocked out my level 100 Ho-Oh in one hit! My assumption... Pikachu was holding the all mighty Light Ball, doubling it's Sp. Attack, whick is high enough to compare to the legenedaries! Well, after that, I used my level 86 Raticate and beat the snot out of Red. Enough said.

Rumble Bee May 12th, 2004 9:47 AM

All of Red's pokemon are easy to beat exept for his Snorlax, but I took care of it with my Gangar, not that anybody cares.

Greed May 12th, 2004 9:55 AM

Why should I hate him? XD He's so darn easy. Heck, Lance had lower level pokemon and I had to go to him about 5 times to beat him. X_x;;
