Emerald, ruby or sapphire?

I'm considering buying one of the gba generation pkmn games but im not sure which to get. i hear emerald has a better story, but is a completely different one? i also heard it has more stuff overall. if someone could explain the difference and which would be better for me i wwould appreciate it alot cause i never played any of the gba ones.(i know i'm way behind) thanks.

Well there aren't too many differences in the games. Ruby and Sapphire are almost the exact same thing except for a few pokemon. And in ruby you get the legendary pokemon latios, and groudon. While in Sapphire you get Latias and Kyogre. Pokemon Emerald version is like a combination of the two games. You can get all four of those legendary Pokemon, plus there are some extras in the game such as the battle frontier and the safari zone extension. You should probably go for emerald for this reason although it does cost a little bit more.

Ruby/Sapphire are like Red/Blue, one can get one pokemon, the other gets the other. Theres a few Ruby can't get, and a few Sapphire can't get. I don't think any of them are too big, so its really just preference for that.
Emerald, like mrplanters said, is a combo really. You can get some of each of the exclusives, but all of the legendary, and there are sweet extras (battle tower) but i haven't tried it yet... i keep restarting... lol.
The only problem i have with emerald is that you need to beat the E4 to get the national dex, which lets you trade with LG/FR, Ruby/Sapphire can always trade with LG/FR.
I reccomend Emerald though, its got more to do.

Well, you've made your decision already, but I support your decision because Emerald beats Ruby & Sapphire by a sh*tload. Have fun playing it, I know I did.

Congrats on your decision. Have fun playing the game, and if you need help just ask in the "simple questions" thread.

Get Emerald. It's like Ruby and Sapphire combined, to an extent

Choose Emerald. Trust me, it really worth it. It has some new features...I have played for more than 200 hours.

firebug March 5th, 2007 2:20 PM

I think you should get Emerald. On it you can catch Raquaza, Groudon, Kyoger, and either Latios or Latias.

Get Emerald its better and it has more Pokemon in it then R/S. Its also good because of the Battle Frontier

There aren't too many differences between emerald, and ruby, and sapphire. Emerald just has Ruby and sapphire's stories combined, and has both their poke dexes, and it has a new thing called the battle frontier. So i would get emerald if i were you, it is just overall better. I like the color of sapphire but...never mind.

He's made his decision now so this thread doesn't need to continue any further.
