Trading throughout versio
Can Diamond/Pearl trade throughout older versions?
|
well, i like my DS and if u wanna play ur diamond/pearl without switching, yeah, use the DS. And for the trading, the pal park thing takes care of that, but u cant trade daimond/pearl to ruby/sapphire/the rest (i think...)
|
dudeman5, is correct.
You can transfer (not trade) Pokemon from R/S/E/FR/LG to D/P, but the R/S/E/FR/LG cartridge needs to be of the same region your DS game is. Simply put your GBA game in the GBA slot and your D/P game in the DS game slot. Once you've reached a certain point at the game, you'll be brought to a screen where you can select which Pokémon to transfer. You also need the GBA games for certain Pokémon to show uo in D/P. |
^That certain point is called the Pal Park, like dudeman said in the beginning. This is kinda of like Safari but heavily modified. It allows you to take off 6 Pokémon from your GBA cartridge a day, and then catch them back again on Diamond/Pearl with a special type of ball (exclusively available to the Pal Park) that never fails.
|
You should be able to upload pokemon via pal park for all the gba pokemon games but not the gb or gbc generations.
Also I hope u don't mind me asking but if you upload a pokemon on to D/P will it still be holding the item given to it on the other game? |

I you've got a problem with the region of your GBA game and your DS game, just wait 'til the DS game for your region is released. |

That's interesting. Must I be to a certain point in FR/LG too? Does anyone know how far in the game this place is in D/P?

Uh... DS and GBA games are not region-restricted, so you can still get a European Combusken on your US Diamond/Pearl. |
Upload From GBA Games Feature.
I Am Looking Forward To This ALOT But Is It A DS Lite ONLY Feature?

Handheld games are not region-restricted. You can get a European DS, and import Diamond. However, complications arise on wireless connections specifically. If a game is DS Download Play-compatible, then it will work on any region's Nintendo DS. However, if the game utilizes Multi-card play (such as Diamond, of course), then you can not play cross-region. What I mean by this is that for example, you have an American Pokémon Diamond, and your friend has the European version. You two cannot trade or battle locally, wirelessly. This doesn't have to do with the DS at all, it has to do with the game's wireless encoding itself. However, much to everyone's surprise, if you buy an American Diamond and play Wi-Fi in Europe, that'll work. Hope I managed to clear stuff up about that. =P |
Here's my question about the pal park... if you transfer a Kadabra from LG over to Diamond/Pearl with the pal park, will it evolve to an Alakazam, or is that reserved for trades between Diamond and Pearl?
|
^I think it will most likely not evolve, because the transferring of the Pal Park is not considered a trade.
|
This Pal Park sounds good if you transfer your pokemon over to dimond and pearl will you still have it on your fire red game?

And you don't seem to understand the depth of the problem. "A few hacked pokemon"?? Try a few hundred. At least. |

I hope they don't let use use hacked/cheated Pokémon, it would be exceedingly unfair.
