Tile error here, tile errors there, tile errors everywhere! And lots of unused land.
I suggest you try to put some more things in and stuff...
And try to get the tiles right. >.>
It's also extremely bland and way too empty to be a major place...
Read some mapping tutorials around and...yeah.
2.5/10 just for trying...and originality O.o...

Erm...been a while since i last posted. Since i figured i like Fire Red tiles better than custom ones, I thought I'd make a map...

It's not completely finished, but i basically finished it. I just got bored of 90 minutes of straight mapping. Comments,crit, and also what more should i add/fix?

It looks good! Though it has some tile errors and some empty space but it good.
Also the waterfall doesn't looks good it should have like a little mountain for make the water fall from there.

Ok, it looks good too! But it is kinda squarish and t has some empty space.

For a forest it is recomendable to make like a maze to make it more difficult to pass.
I like the cave and also the bridge. Cool!

Oh wow. No offense meant but that is one of the worst maps I have seen. I mean, it is actually so obvious that it is bad EVEN TO THE MAKER that it's almost like you intentianally put it up just to see the reviews. -_-

Sorry about the quality... I had to reduce it a lot for it to fit here... (I have no other place to put it, computer is retarded...)

This is Vellos town, a spacious town in the heart of a large valley, the waters unusual currents caused the natural bridges to form above its crystal clear waters! ^_^ This is the first map I ever took seriously, please rate it, and I would like feedback, on how I could improve! (BTW, I made a few of the tiles there, but I suck at tile making, so I only made a few easy ones... If only I knew a good tileset maker...)

Well, I can see a bit...so...I'll rate what I can understand.

You say there are "currents" but...the water has NO currents. Eh?
Also, if that's a bridge, then it shouldn't be the same level above the water as the ground around...
Well, I'll rate it properly once I can see it...
But, just a thing.
I don't think anyone, be it in the game or real life, would want to have a town with gaps that big between the houses.
Sure, it can be spacious, but think literally!

PS. About the tiles, from what I can see, they look fine! :)

Ahh, I see, I was planning on adding more houses, but I wanted to see what others thought... about the current... it is more under water currents, that wore away all but what is showing above ground... (It ties into a major event in the storyline of the hack I plan to make!) This should work better... hehe it is BIG btw... 1200 X 1200 pixels

Hmm... I think it looks like Petalburg City, with some buildings replaced and a few things thrown in... Also... that path, it is a bit squiggly. Try straightening it out and lining it up with the buildings if you can do that.

I give it a 5/10 for squigly path and close similarity to petalburg o.o

It's nice...but I don't like what you did to the edges...

It's...scarily big...REALLY scarily big.
Well, I love the shape of the rocks, musta taken you a little bit of time, eh?
There are tile errors in the mountains (sand, see?)
Well, the bland empty areas have a lot of stuff that's in them so...yeah...

It's so empty near the Mart....
Big maps aren't an awesome idea...they get hard to put things into....so...yah...

I updated the map, I still havent fixed the sand in the mountains (It is part of the tile, i have to go into tile editor and fix....)
EDIT: I fixed the sand in the mountains, and some other small tile problems... I think I made it better... rating?

The path is supposed to be squiggly because it is slowly decaying away due to the over growth of plant life. You seriously need to look at my thread. So basically the only reason you gave me a bad rating actually should be reasons why it is good. Maps for games do need to follow the story line you know. -_-

Ok, I am going to list the bad, then the good, ok...

Bad
1:There is a blue ground beneath those trees, is it a tile error, or are you trying to do that?
EDIT: Ok, there are a few more tile error than I expected, there is a missing block in the tree along the right edge of the map, as well as that along that same edge, the large, bright green trees have no ending tiles, eg. follow from the top of the screen down along right edge of bright green large trees, and there is no ending tiles...
2:The borders may end up a little funky, try using one type of tree for your level edges, that way, the borders blend in with them.


Good

1: I personally like the maze quality, I don't see to many maze like maps in pokemon games... other than berry forest in FR, but that was an easy maze...
2: I like the placement of the hop-able cliffs, but try to tone them down a bit, there are a lot of them, hehe!
3: Caves are good, and bad... there is something about the cave at the top that bothers me... like, the mountain like thing it is on is too square....

I give it a professional score of 5/10

I give it a personal score of 7.5/10! (after tile edits of course)

No need to be sarcastic and personally attack him. This isn't a place to defend yourself, you post maps to have them criticised. If you can't take it, then don't post them. :]

And we both know, that map doesn't deserve a 1.3.

The map isn't the best, it has many flaws and the layout strange, but not 1.3.
I'd give it a 4/10.

Now, I'm not attacking him right now. He was just the last person to do it.

EDIT: Haha, and. No. I don't think it looks like Petalburg City, if anything, the other one looks more like Petalburg City, but neither do.
As for a rating, i'd give "Petalburg City" a 7/10. It's nice. I just hate the placement and shape of the lake. Also, lacks alot of creativity. Looks like an average town. Which can be good. In fact, almost necessary in a pokemon game. But I still wish it had a few "WOAH! Cool!" surprises in there
