According to the IGN website, the release date for Europe has been put to June 1st 2007, but still no sign of a confirmed date for Australia.

IGN uses that date as a placeholder. No official release date has yet been confirmed.

yes, it's legal. There's no reason why it would be illegal. Australia actually has some kind of law or statute that region coding is unlawful, so I'm pretty sure all games and systems sold within australia are region free.

Well, this might not directly be related to Australia, but it's still good we're slowly getting to where we want to.

Apparently, as PPN has reported here, the European release date is finally here!
While I've yet to receive a press release from Nintendo themselves, and I can't seem to find the game on NoE's games database, this date might actually be credible.

Do note that there is still great room for speculation, as we haven't heard anything official from Nintendo yet.

I just wanted to post this here since PPN actually reported it, so we never know, but this might be the real, feasible thing.

Great, at least there's something to look forward to now.
If it's not June, it could be July or August, I don't see NOE releasing P/D beyond August.

Yeah, to be honest I'm quite surprised as well; I was expecting a release date of around September or so. That's why I'm not too confident of what Amazon has to say. But hey, the sooner the better, right?

Yeah and also according this http://n-europe.com/releases.php Pokemon P/D are due to release sometime in Q3. Which may mean July, August or September, any of those months.

Pokémon Diamond Q3 2007
Pokémon Pearl Q3 2007

AC_Drain April 19th, 2007 12:10 PM

Well knowing Nintendo, it will be the latest date possible. Remember, Smash brothers was meant to be one of the Wii's launch titles... Too bad pal ds can only run pal games, or else you could have just ordered it overseas.

wakachamo April 19th, 2007 12:19 PM

^Uh... that's not true at all. The Nintendo DS is not region-locked, and you can import D/P whenever you feel like it. Please refer to my "Clearing Up the Confusion on Regional Differences" thread, in this same board.

beauty. proletariat April 19th, 2007 10:01 PM

ZOMFG!!!! I cant wait 2 months!! I've heard soo much about it, i want it NOW!! 2 more days for the amerikanz!! Meh... around the 23rd, the english version will be all over the internet... So all i'll have to do is.... Get Torrent!! (i still cant be bothered downloading..)

Toothache April 20th, 2007 12:43 AM

DS = not region locked. My friend has a Japanese copy of Pearl, works fine on his English DS.

Anyway, if it's anything like the last couple of releases, Europe's gonna get D/P about October. Australia's probably gonna be about the same time I'd think, maybe earlier since it's closer to Japan.

Umm... obviously you've missed the announcement. Europe release date is June 30th.

Where the heck did you get that from? If you could at least give a source I could link into it... although it's almost definitely a fake/placeholder date.

AC_Drain April 20th, 2007 7:04 AM

Really? Then why not just buy the us version? Get it offline and you'll have it 2 months early.

Several reasons why not, Pal Park is highly unlikely that it'd be compatible with the European gba carts; European version of PBR won't be compatible with the USA's versions of Pearl/Diamond.

AC_Drain April 20th, 2007 7:18 AM

Ohh right. That makes sense. Well I don't see why pal games take song long to be released.

Actually, I'm going to prove you wrong with that. There's no reason as to why the Pal Park wouldn't work seeing as GBA carts are not region-restricted, and the Euro version of PBR is likely to work seeing as the wireless function of the DS carts are not region-restricted, as long as the DS's region matches the Wii's. Please refer to my Regional Differences thread for further information on importing.

There are multiple factors to take in consideration when taking a game to another region. One thing is Nintendo's policy in having every Nintendo licensed game to have 5 languages in it: English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. Now that alone takes quite. The second thing, seeing as the game is online, is to check compatibility with the European servers for the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The rest is just insider stuff to see if everything's alright and if the game works fine, or if there are still some minor glitches to be taken care of.

AC_Drain April 20th, 2007 7:29 AM

Ah that makes sense. Still, no one likes waiting. I've even called my friend at Gamestop and convinced him to open a few hours early on Sunday

Okay...
I guess you are right about the Euro version of PBR working with the USA P/D.
But I'm not sure about the Pal Park yet.
We'll see soon.

Yeah, I can't prove anything as well. I've basing this off logic and some support from other members in such thread. I'll have to wait and see as well. =P
