Is there a calculator online that will show you what wi-fi trainer avatar you'll get? I know it's based off your trainer ID, but is it exactly the same in Platinum as in D/P?

Mimikyu402 March 26th, 2009 7:56 AM

It has to be at least 8pm before it counts as night in game

I remember that you can change your guy/girl in Platinum by going to Jubelife City. That works the same for DP.

What are the requirements to get downstairs for the wi-fi trade in Platinum?
I've got my dex, enough pokes, I thought that was it? What am I missing?

Actually in PLATINUM it is a guy in Oreburge PokeCenter

I don't recall the downstairs being opened until I was on Oreburgh, so it may require a gym badge, or just having gone to Oreburgh.

Quick Questions

1. does any 1 know if there are going to be any events in canada

2. can u get tha items 2 catch darkrai shaymin and the item to cahnge rotoms forme with the mystery gift ?

.inLOVE March 26th, 2009 1:37 PM

1. Probably. The have them in all different countries, so see your local gaming store, or the Nintendo/Pokemon/Gamefreak site.
2. Changing Rotom's form doesn't require a Mystery Gift. And to catch Darkrai or Shaymin, you'll need to go to an event and/or trade it from another game (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum).

dotKarma March 26th, 2009 1:49 PM

I was wondering if D/P/Pt have internal batteries and whether they will run out or not. Sorry if this is a stupid question, it's just that I don't want to lose all of my Pokemon.

And if anyone knows if R4s have internal batteries, could you tell me that too?

Erm.... Wrong.

Changing Rotom's form requires the Secret Key, which only comes through an event, therefore you do need Mystery Gift. Also, the items to catch Shaymin (Oak's Letter) and Darkrai (Member's Pass) were obtained via an event in Japan about a month after Platinum was released there, so it is not unreasonable to expect that there to be an event to obtain the items in the US, and even in Europe following Platinum's release. So yes.... you do need Mystery Gift to get both.

EDIT: The Secret Key was obtained through an event in the period of a few months after the release of Platinum as well.

iight thanks 4 tha info yall

.inLOVE March 26th, 2009 2:03 PM

Oh. I forgot about the mystery key to get to that... place. XD

aliienboii March 26th, 2009 2:13 PM

hey does anyone know in pokemon platinum which honey tree you can find a munchlax in?? and how much honey will it take for him to appear??

belkotar March 26th, 2009 2:14 PM

Giratina question...

do i have to catch Giratina the first time i battle him, because i really want to soft reset to get a shiny, but i want to beat the game asap
i'm just not sure if i can try to catch him later

can anyone help me

Mike Ukiuki March 26th, 2009 2:20 PM

No you can't catch him later...I think I am almost positive.

Are talking about platinum or D/P?

belkotar March 26th, 2009 2:25 PM

platinum
i should have been more specific

jigglyppuff8 March 26th, 2009 2:25 PM

Anyone of them. Just one honey will attract it. The reason why it's so hard to find it is because it only has a 1% encounter rate. Saving in front of a honey tree and turning the game off (or SRing) won't change what Pokemon is in the tree, so don't even try that.

dotKarma March 26th, 2009 2:29 PM

No, you only get a chance to catch it once

belkotar March 26th, 2009 2:31 PM

thanks guys
btw i'm new here lolz
but of heard of this site

aliienboii March 26th, 2009 2:33 PM

Mages4ever March 26th, 2009 2:33 PM

Anyone have a Safari Zone Item Map for Platinum?

Giratina ♀ March 26th, 2009 2:34 PM

Welcome to PokeCom, and KOG is correct. In Platinum, you can only catch it once - in the Torn World.

If you fire up DP again, though, you could go and find it from Wayward Cave and send the shiny over that way.

No one can help you with your router. I'd suggest reading the manual that came with it, as well as the DS manual on wireless connection and settings.

aliienboii March 26th, 2009 2:54 PM

oksz... well iv had my ds 4 a while now and never needed the wireless untill now... and im at school and my manuel is at home so could you please help me with how to get to the wireless??
