Keep looking--the fossils are very rare. As for where...yeah, has to be at the yellow dots. That's the only place you can excavate for items, including the Fossils.

OK...I'[m trying to find a Slowpoke. I have Pearl, and I've been in the West Side of Rt. 211 for quite a while now, but all I've seen are the regular PKMN, Teddiursa (since I have Emerald in the GBA Dongle) and Tyrogue (the only PokeRadar one I've found). Is Slowpoke REALLY there, or do I have to fish for it or what?

Fish for it, using the Super Rod.

In the house after the cycling road there will be one of the professor's helpers.
Talk to him and he#ll give it to you (I think you need to own a certain amount of Pokémon for that, but it's not much).

I KNOW that's in the FAQ...anyway, once you have the National Dex, go to the house near the sailor in Canalave, talk to the mother next to her bed-ridden child, then go over to the sailor, agree to go to the island, and go talk to Cresselia. Once that's done, Cresselia will run around the map just like Mesprit, so you'll have to use the Marking Map to track it down.

Can anyone tell me where Hippotas (I dunno if I spelled that right) is? I know he is supposed to be in the Ruin Maniac's cave but I ran around for hours and I could not find one D:

Athena May 8th, 2007 9:30 PM

Hmm I think you can only find him after you find the unowns. (I don't know if you need them ALL but I had all you could find in that cave by solacean before I went). Did you go further in or was the ruin maniac guy still digging? That would change things. xD

catch some unknowns then check in there. i had to catch about 13 before i finally started seeing them now theyre the first pokemon i see when i go in and the first time i saw them i got over excited and caught more then one....:nervous:

Squeegee Beckenheim May 9th, 2007 5:12 AM

I walked right in, and found them after catching only one Unown.

Rai May 9th, 2007 12:57 PM

I caught two Unknowns and I still haven't seen any... Maybe I should catch some more. But do you need the Unknown in your party or is just catching okay?

If you've caught less than 10 Unowns, you have 5% chance of seeing a Hippopotas.

If you've caught more than 10 but less than 25, you have 10% chance of seeing one.

If you've caught all 26 Unowns, you have 20% chance of seeing one.

I caught all 26 Unowns before I went looking for it, and it was the third Pokemon I found after I started searching. I then found a female one immediately after.

You can't catch the ! and ? Unown until you've caught all 26 Unown. Then the Ruin Maniac will dig through to a secret room in Solaceon Ruins where you can catch the ! and ? Unown.

I suppose I should've said if you catch 26 or more Unowns, you'll have a 20% chance of seeing one.

Rai May 10th, 2007 5:28 AM

I'll catch a few more Uknown and then go looking for Hippopotas :3

You can find them, rarely, in Victory Road.

Rai May 10th, 2007 10:04 AM

Unfortunely, I don't have wifi ;; But I appreciate the offer ^__^

Is the only way to get an Eevee to wait until after you have the National Dex and then get it from some girl? That's what I've heard I think. So you have to wait all the way until then? :(

You can also get it at the Pokémon Mansion, but, yes, you need the national dex to do so.
If you don't want to wait, just look for someone who will trade you one.

Corranhorn May 10th, 2007 1:33 PM

Wait you can trade for an Eevee before you get the National Dex? Sorry I'm still new to the advanced games so I don't really know how it all works still. I thought you have to have seen the pokemon first before you can request it in a trade?

Well, that's half true. You can only trade a Pokémon you've seen through the GTS. But there's nothing stopping you from trading via WiFi with someone that has an Eevee, via the use of friend codes.

So, get to begging people with Eevee. :D
