Pokemon Sex

which pokemon sex do u think is better... male or female??? give specific reasons why and explain please... because i can't decide...

ToraSushii May 20th, 2007 11:05 AM

Doesn't matter. I prefer most Male, but I prefer pretty Pokemon, like Gardevoir, Female. ;)

Storm-DC May 20th, 2007 11:09 AM

was it an issue in G/S/C? because some people claimed it made a difference.. this also could've been one of the myths of course for stat difference when EV wasnt known yet..

by the way; welcome back ;), great first thread.. the title..

ihaveaquestion May 20th, 2007 11:12 AM

thanx for the welcome back...

but i think i prefer males/nonsex pokemon just because i like blue instead of red

parallelzero May 20th, 2007 11:12 AM

It depends, some Pokemon just don't look right to me unless they're a certain gender (Gardevoir, Lopunny, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee come to mind right off the top of my head). Other than that, I don't really care.

MasterBalls May 20th, 2007 12:50 PM

I believe that male pokemon are a lot better because...

1. They can breed with ditto to make the same pokemon so the female isn't needed.
2. They can pass on pokemon moves.
3. I like blue better than red.
4. I'm a guy.

Pokémaster May 20th, 2007 12:57 PM

I would rather male because most of the pokémon I catch are males anyway, so.....

Me being a girl everyone expects me to choose the sex female being the best but I'm not like that. the best sex is male because the father passes down HM's and TM's

Does that mean that if you attach an item to the pokemon, it can reproduce it?

If I wanted to teach Stone Edge to more than one pokemon, could i just give it to a male and hatch an egg?

Can you do this with masterballs?

Espeon Master May 20th, 2007 1:02 PM

Male. For breeding reasons, like everyone said. and because with the new picture differences the bigger horn/fin/whatever looks so much better.

MasterBalls May 20th, 2007 1:03 PM

I don't think that the pictures are that important in this game.

No, you teach the father the TM/HM and if the pokemon that is bred can learn those moves it will be born with them, not the items.

Thunderdash May 20th, 2007 4:29 PM

males becuse some of the males attack(STATS) are highter the females.

Ichida May 20th, 2007 4:33 PM

Some Pokemon just look a certain gender. I kept getting Ralts that were the right nature, but male, when I was trying to raise a Gardevoir, but I persevered enough to hatch a female Ralts with the same nature. Took almost a day.

That's false. Males are exactly like females.

I think some Pokémon are better with one gender (Lopunny, Zubat, Geodude) but I really don't care. Maybe the picture that looks better. Male Dodrio is horrible as well as female Doduo.

ToraSushii May 20th, 2007 4:37 PM

There's not difference. My cousin says that Male are better. Which is being sexist. >.>

Pokemon Sex
... yes please!

For the longest time I thought that males had higher Attack and Defense, whilst females had higher Special Attack and Special Defense. I was waaaay wrong!

I do agree that some look a certain gender... I mean, a female Machamp? If that is a girl, it must've been beaten with an ugly stick. And a male Gardevoir? Maybe just a flamboyant.

And Lopunny, come on!It can be male but it's totally HOT!

Here is another question. Never mind which gender is better I'm wondering what gender is more common. If I'm going to use a gender-specific attack, I'm going to want it on a pokemon gender opposite of the masses.

Richard May 20th, 2007 7:46 PM

When it comes to Pokemon like Zangoose and Lopunny, I go with female. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

Well, according to most sites (or Serebii, at least XD) most Pokémon are about 50/50 on gender. However after hatching about two full boxes of Houndour and another of Pichu, both of which have the 1:1 ratio...male tends to be more common. A good 80% or so turned out male. :|

Alakazam17 May 20th, 2007 7:53 PM

As you can see from the above posts, males seem to be more common. So go with a female Pokemon with Attract. ^_^

Although a male with it would be a shocker to quite a few Blissey trainers around, XD.

As for my preference, it doesn't really matter. I may want the male for breeding purposes, but if I finally find a Pokemon with the right stats AND nature AND ability, I am not about to say "Oh, crap, it's female. NEXT!"

Unless I'm looking to get a Gallade or Mothim, that is. ^_^

idontnoWHOiam May 20th, 2007 7:53 PM

Female pokemon are good for the move attract, since most of the starters are male. Other than that, gender doesnt really make a difference. I usually dont even notice what the gender of my pokemon is.

ToraSushii May 20th, 2007 8:38 PM

Males are common as normal Pokemon. But every shiny I had/battled was a female. AWESOME.

blazedsoldier May 20th, 2007 8:49 PM

It's just personal preference I think.
