Well how are we suppose to help you and this is in the wrong place

Sorry if this is off topic, but Queen Boo, I simply love your new avatar/sig picture! I adore my Drifloon. :-D I'd use him on my real team if he didn't suck so bad.

Anyways, Queen Boo is right about the thread bit, but post their moves and purpose (wall/sweeper), and how you normally battle, and then we might be able to help you out, in the correct forum.

plasmapistol May 25th, 2007 1:32 PM

well if a mod would move it to the correct forum then that would be great. Im preparing a list as we speak, so i will post that info soon.

For starters, you need something solid that can Block attacks, like maybe Steelix. Blissey helps with warding off Empoleon, Gengar, and Alakazam.

plasmapistol May 25th, 2007 3:52 PM

Nasty plot and any other stat raising attacks probably wont help me against this guy or any other opponents I face. Also with Wood hammer being such a damaging attack with better accuracy make Stone Edge kind of redundant? Also synthesis and sometimes Giga Drain is the only thing keeping my Torterra alive against Rayquaza. I think I need some kind of Anti-Dragon. I think I will look into teaching my Lapras Blizzard and teaching Ice Beam to Porygon-Z. X-scissor would be useless to teach to Scizor mostly because its a bug type move and my opponent has no grass types. Also slash has a higher crit ratio and has more PP. Lastly baton pass is a move I dont have much luck with, its alot like a bullet being fired at one guy, then it turns into a tank shell because it switches out completely by chance. Other than that Im going to really consider these move changes. Thanks for your help! If anyone else has any further suggestions for my team then please post!

sims796 May 25th, 2007 6:03 PM

Ok, now remember that their are quite a few pokemon who are both grass and earth-resistant. Stone Edge makes it more versitile. And don't underestimate Baton Pass. Think of how painful a speedy, agilified Torterra will be. But maybe you could replace Rock Polish with Synthesis

Lol dude, X-scissor will punish Alakazam.

Which is where Hypnosis comes in. Put them to Sleep, then Power Up. Simple.

Stone Edge blocks Flying and Ice Types, and Giga Drain does squat against Rayquaza anyway.

Don't teach Lapras Blizzard. 70% Accuracy is not the friendliest thing in the world.

X-scissor would be useless to teach to Scizor mostly because its a bug type move and my opponent has no grass types. Also slash has a higher crit ratio and has more PP.
X-Scissor doesn't only have 10 more Power, but Scizor is picking up STAB off of it. And the Crit rate on Slash only goes up by 10% anyway. So take a gamble between 120 Power total Vs. 70 Power.

Lastly baton pass is a move I dont have much luck with, its alot like a bullet being fired at one guy, then it turns into a tank shell because it switches out completely by chance.
Baton Pass KEEPS the Stat Changes, so take advantage of that to pass to something like Torterra or Lapras.

Other than that Im going to really consider these move changes. Thanks for your help! If anyone else has any further suggestions for my team then please post!

Always keep in mind that STAB (Same-Type Attack Base) is very beneficial and should be used to an advantage at all costs.

sims796 May 25th, 2007 9:08 PM

Iceman & I are telling the truth. Keep Stone Edge. And I couldn't agree more with that there Blizzard. How come with a 70% accuracy, it barely hits when I need it to? Where's the 70%? I believe 70 is more that 50, so I shouldn't need to flip a damn coin.

plasmapistol May 25th, 2007 10:52 PM

Ok considering all of these things here are my changes. But I am still so torn between Blizzard and keeping Ice Beam...

I think I might have this down now, also with my Porygon-Z learning Ice beam I will be able to deal more damage against Rayquaza since dragons are weak against Ice (something I just discovered today-I feel like a dee dee dee-). Hopefully with these new changes I will be able to beat him. Wish me luck, I face him tomorrow.

plasmapistol May 26th, 2007 8:29 AM

Ok guys let me tell you how this battle went.

First I had Electivire in go out first, which was lucky because he sent out Empoleon first and I critted a Thunderbolt and knocked it out in one hit. He then sent out Rayquaza so I sent out my Scizor and all I did was use agility. He started pounding me dragon claw and giga impacts. I got it about 5 times before my Scizor was in the red and I use baton pass and switched out to lapras. I got 2 ice beams on it before it could attack. It critted on my lapras but it survived and I was able to knock it out with one final Ice Beam. Then he sent out gengar, so I sent out my Ninetales just to kind of see what happened. I was able to get a hypnosis before he did (he missed) and I was able to get 4 flamethrower attacks on it and killed it. Then he sent out Aerodactyl so I switched to Torterra and knocked it out in 2 turns. (Wood hammer) Then he sent out blaziken so I sent Lapras back out. I guess it still had those stat changes from Scizors baton pass because I was able to get 2 surfs on it and get it in the red before it used Sky Uppercut on me. So i then sent out Porygon and used Giga Impact and knocked it out. His last pokemon was Alakazam, and I tried to knock it down as best as i could with Porygon but Porygon took 2 Psychics and it was down for the count. So I remembered what Zaffimitsu said about X-scissor punishing Alakazam, and I sent my Scizor back out and I did X-scissor once and to my suprise it knocked out the rest of Alakazams HP. I won! Thanks for all of your help guys, I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoyed the story of my battle earlier today.

sims796 May 26th, 2007 9:17 AM

CONGRATS! Seems like all that advice came in handy. Don't hear inspiring stories like that anymore.

Hold on, so did Torterra suvived the whole match?

peabobo's sexy legs May 26th, 2007 9:57 AM

Why is Ninetales your lead. If you're going to put it as your lead, give it Roar.

plasmapistol May 26th, 2007 3:51 PM

Ninetales isnt always my lead. I just put it in that order cause i felt like it NutriSweet. Thank you Sims, and yes torterra did survive the match only because I switched it out for my beat up lapras. I weakened his blaziken really well with the beat up lapras then it fainted I sent out Porygon and used Giga Impact.

DKong1026 May 26th, 2007 8:57 PM

Not to come in and make it seem like I'm being an ass and ruining that cool story, but...

"I guess it still had those stat changes from Scizors baton pass because".
That's not the case. When you switch out without using baton pass, stat changes are lost.

"I got 2 ice beams on it before it could attack."
I don't see how this works, either. Even if you have MUCH higher speed, you'd attack, then he'd attack, then repeat. Unless he used hyper beam, there's no way you can get 2 attacks off in a row.

Though congrats on beating his Rayquaza! All in all, that's really a big reason why he had the upper hand on you. A legendary can usually mow down a lot of pokemon, not to mention he had about 10 levels on you.

plasmapistol May 27th, 2007 12:26 PM

Hey Dkong, your not being an ass at all. In the description I did not mention that he was using solar beam. So in the Lapras-Rayquaza battle I attacked, he charged up solar beam, I attacked again, he hit me, lapras survived and attacked. Also I need a bit of proof before you tell me that stat changes are lost when switching out. Because I dont know how else I could have sent out lapras, surfed him, surfed him again, then lapras died.

I don't think there is too much proof he can give you, but that's exactly what happens.

plasmapistol May 27th, 2007 1:28 PM

Is there something stating it directly? If not there must have been some kind of glitch then. Or maybe what happened was I gave lapras the order to attack, it attacked first, he ordered Blaziken to attack but it was a slow attack so I was able to again. I dont really know what might have happened if it wasnt that. Ill have to ask my freind about this.
