EVs?????

Now I recently learned the basics of EV's, but I am still very much confused. I understand what needs to be done to EV train, but I don't really get how. Am I able to subrtact & redistribute EV points from one skill to another? Look, here's an example

Noctowl
Modest
Hypnosis
Reflect
Whirlwind
Extrasensory/Psychic/Air Slash

What EV's should be distributed to make this set work, and how? If anyone has any suggestions, even abouot my Noctowl's moveset, that will be greatly appreciated.

The only way you can "redistribute EV's" is by using berries. say you had some ev's in attack but you didn't want them and wanted to replace them with ev's in special attack, just use berries to reduce its attack ev's and then fight pokemon that would give Ev's in special attack(roselia, budew, etc).

As for EV distribution, it all depends on the pokemon, it's base stats and moveset and what you want from it.

I'm not familiar with Noctowl since I don't use it much, but its best stats are sp.def and sp.att respectively. It has pretty high hp too. It's not a great pokemon but if you must use it I'd suggest something like this.

[email protected]
Modest
220hp/114sp.att/176speed
Hypnosis
Reflect
Whirlwind
Extrasensory/Psychic/Air Slash

it needs almost max hp for sure because with speed like that it's going to take some hits. speed so that it can at least out speed average speed pokemon, and some special attack so its attack can at least put a dent in opponents. even then it's pretty fragile and slow which is why it's not great.

You might want to replace whirlwind with some sort of attack btw. shadowball perhaps?

Oh I see, like the Kelpsy berry. I knew it! I just thought that it couldn't be that simple. Thanks. So, to raise her speed for example, I would fight zubat (a somewhat speedy pokemon), then level up?

yes, you can fight zubats for speed ev's. ponyta is also a common one. also buizel and pachirisu, starly, staravia(not starraptor however).

You can also fight one of the fisherman on route 205 who has 6 magikarps(+1 each)... with power ankle(+4 per pokemon fought) that's 5 speed ev's per magikarp and 30ev's total.. using the vs seeker repeatedly you can finish ev training in no time.
