PKRS-cured Pokemon's effect on its spread?
There's a bit of confusion on exactly what Pokerus is, now that it has become easier to spread to other people. Yes, it is a beneficial virus, goes away after 24 hours of the infected Pokemon being in your party, and spreads throughout your team if one has it. However, what's the effect of having a Pokemon cured of Pokerus (I.E., with the smiley-face) in your party? Does it slow down the infection rate?
Who here has had experiences with the little virus, and who's seen an effect on the spreading rate from a Pokemon that can still transfer it by having a "cured" Pokemon in their party? (I put this in the D/P section because it's become more of a known because of the games, and the discussion that inspired me to start this thread occurred here. If someone wants to move this to somewhere else, then go right ahead...but at least explain why first :) ) |

What if it has a frowny face?

Sense no one is actually posting anything that hasn't already been stated, here is my post from that other thread...seems more appropriate here anyway.

That discussion's exactly why I made this thread, Conman...so I'll do the same.

well i already said that i thought i noticed that cured pokemon seem to reduce the possibility of spreading pokerus. after staraptor became cured, it became more difficult to spread pokerus to pokemon of friends whenever they asked. since he was (and still is) always with me as my flyer, i never noticed a difference in the difficulty to spread it until i didn't have him in my team, and i continued to test it with other pokemon, and every time, it seemed that with cured pokemon in my party, the possibility of spreading seemed lower.
i didn't test whether party arrangement had anything to do with it, so it's all up in the air. |
I haven't noticed any change, to be honest. I had a line up like this:
Clean/Cured Cured/Cured Cured/PKRS And the one clean Pokémon was infected after one battle. I've done this numerous times. |
hmmm...that's odd....I got a pokemon from the gts that had pokerus and it spread like wildfire even though i had 2 other cured pokemon in my party...
|
same here. i think trading icnreses infection probability 1.5x, like xp gain
|
I noticed it spread faster for me if my Pokemon with PKRS was actually the one battling and was next to a clean Poke in my lineup. I didn't test it too much, but from my little bit of experience (Done this for about 18 Pokes, so roughly 4 teams with one infected Poke), if my PKRS carrier battled, it spread faster.

Yeah, Mine spead quickly to all the other pokemon I had in my party through battles, and walking around.
Uh, But it lasted alot longer than 24 hours for me; I've had the same pokemon with pokerus in my active party, and it's had the pokerus for going on 8 days now...has anyone else had a problem like this? Originally I had gotten a pokerussed pokemon through a trade with a friend, put it in my party, spread it through other pokemon, but it still hasn't been cured O_o Should I worry about that? |

This is unconfirmed, but i think once i was able to keep the spreadable Pokerus on my pokemon for 2 days by keeping my DS on overnight in power save mode, but again, this is just a guess. hope that helps. |

I was wondering what this was about; I never used any cheating devices, so that definetly isn't it... Edit: Huh...could it possibly be that I start to play the game around 12 PM each night, and each time the clock rolls over, I'm playing as if I had been from the previous day? I mean, it isn't anything that has effected my gameplay yet, but is it something I should worry about anyways? |
