Hey. Just wanted to spread some knowledge.

Hacked pokemon do not, and CANNOT mess up your game.

This is just spread around by people who don't like others who use cheating devices.

Hacked pokemon are just hexcodes put in to get the pokemon you want.

I repeat:

Hacked pokemon do not mess up your game.

EDIT by FG: Don't use cursewords; there are people of all ages here. I have removed it from your post - read the rules before posting again.

Rofl, tell them how it is. >D The only game that can ever get screwed up is the hacker's game. But that's not the reason why people won't trade them. Legit pokemon had a bit more effort and soul put into them...So it's not fair... :/

Ditto TwilightBlade

Hacking can in fact screw up your game... back in the R/S/E days, it could lead to a Bad Egg, your TM case being locked, (or some reported a "Berry Glitch" that I sort of debunked, but the idea is still out there), even when you didn't do the hacking, and you just mixed records or traded with a hacker. I'd assume they put a similar "punishment" into this generation.

The only time I ever supported hacking was back when the event Pokes were unavailable, when events no longer took place, or location screwed it up, so you hacked to get those Pokes. I saw it as a minor sin that was justified. However, now with the GTS and ability to trade long-distance easily, I don't support it EVER. It's a cheap American way to create a shortcut around the system.

Oh, and RedFan, I could lecture for hours on the philosophy of "dirty words" started by George Carlin, but since this is a private website, I shall refrain. But I will say that "dirty" is in the mind of the beholder, and it's the context used that designates if it's offensive or not. Sorry, but I just despise censorship with a passion.

well, let's be clear about this, yoshi.

1) hacked pokemon can't mess up your game, but they mess up the quality of your game. if you use a hacked pokemon and it is discovered in some event such as a tournament or some other competitive meet, you can be disqualified from any interaction with others. what good is a team of pokemon that can't be used afterall?

2) the game cartridge of the person using the cheating device CAN be messed up. hex code can intersect and cause several mishaps, many of which that may completely disengage the framework of code in a cartridge.

3) there are loopholes to hacking. with just a little manual effort, you can make a completely legit pokemon from 2 hacked pokemon. it's called breeding. if there is something that you can't breed for, quite simply, don't hack for it.

i use Action Replay myself and openly profess using it, but as someone who knows a lot about cheating devices, i can ensure that my cartridge isn't going to be damaged. however, i can't promise the same for others, which is why it is important to be honest to people and warn them of possible circumstances concerning hacking.

It's still the same to get events unless you have the info for it or trade it with some one here. Plus the event items might not be given via wi-fi. It could be something else like the poketch application.

hacking can so mess up your game. I was using a cheat code to get Deoxys in my old ancient Ruby version and when I caught it, saved it and shut the power off. After doing that all of my Pokemon had Pokerus, I had a lot of bad eggs and my internal battery ran dry. So I wanted to train the stupid deoxys and when I did I ran into a Pokemon battled it and when I was done the game froze. I shut the game off and turned it back on and the game kept crashing. But When I kept trying to start the game and when I did, I knew I had to release the Deoxys and when I did my game started working again

This may never happen to you but different cartridges means a different way of working

So here we go. Making Hacked Pokemon CAN mess up a game. If not done right it can cause bad eggs, all the way to making the game useable only to trade into gamestop. If you hack your pokemon right however, you can do it safely without causing damage to your game. The morals of hacking pokemon can be debated but really comes down to personal moral check. Some say it's ok, same say it's not. Some ride the fence like I do and say there is justification if it's an event only pokemon and you can't/didn't get to an event.
Then there is cloning. Is that right? Moral? If the pokemon was caught legit is it ok to clone it?
With the global trade station and the ability to trade all over the world, there is less need to hack a pokemon, unless of course you are hacking one to get other trades, which could be hacks as well.
All in all, you will have to decide for yourself how you feel about hacked pokemon, and if you are going to use a cheat device, be aware that you could destroy your game, and upset anyone you trade with.
