Impressed?
To everyone who has beaten the game, were you impressed with how the diamond/pearl versions of pokemon turned out?
For me, I was kind of iffy. I thought that the gameplay was a little slow but I liked the grafics and the 3D effect. I wish that there would have been more new pokemon and I only think that about half of the new ones should have been added (they should have taken out the skunk pokemon because I think that is just ridiculouse, I mean, go to your pokedex and listen to their cries). Overall though, I think it was an okay purchase for $35. |
I was fine with the games but kinda disappointed with most of the new pokemon and the limited variety while playing the game... It's either get a Roselia or Turtwig or just go without a grass... Get Pontya or Chimchar or go without a fire pokemon. :S I think the gameplay and graphics were good. Places were well done. The cries were creepy and hysterical in this game. *listens to Skuntank XD*

I really liked the game. All the new cries did were make the old ones seem worse... I wish they would have made more online features though.
|
Am I the only one who took advantage of Wifi to have a Cyndaquil for my Fire type?...
Besides that, Best game since GSC, and I don't know if I think it's better or not... it has a lot of stuff on it, and I love it! |
It was really good, unfortunately there aint many things you can do after the game like what they done with ruby, sapphire, fire read, leaf green. I like the way they made an underground and a wifi trade, battle but they should've added more stuff to it except for the information I mentioned there.
|
It was pretty good, in my opinion. But now that I beat the Champ, there's almost nothing left to do. I guess I could go for the complete Nat. Dex, but who has time for that?
|
I liked the game. (didn't pay for it... Don't you love hacks) Anyway, I was upset with the limited amount of pokemon. I was like where is the fire? Oh wait there is none... Ok.. I want a grass pokemon... No... you can't have it... you can have tons and tons of geodudes though... I heard they are great... BOOOOoo Geodude.
|
Expand more on Fire type, Grass type, and Ice and Electric type. That is all I ever hear from Pokemon players. And I agree.

thankgod I was the only one that felt that way. I was very creeped out of that one. Anyways I think the game was okay :t354:tatsujin gosuto |
However, if you listen to Mismagius' cry, you will notice how awsome it is.
|
I think their somewhat better then previous games, they have the same outline and shade as the Fire Red And Leaf Green, but i can tell they have more detail to them, because of the female and male sprite differences
|
the cries ware creepy but some ware soo beatfull take a look at the muisc i use canlave muisc to relax it so pretty
|
Overall, I thought the game could've used more fire and grass pokemon. Thats why I migrated them. I also thought the graphics and sound were excellent. Even though the Skunk pokemon kinda made me wanna pull my hair out.
Also, it could use a little less Geodudes and Zubats. >< |
Meh
I found it like the other games really slow at first. I hate the knew Pokemon, they are running out of ideas now. Chimchar a monkey with a flaming tail instead of Charmander a dinasaur with a flaming tail. The new Pokemon seem to be just getting confusing. Like the knew 3-D look though.
|
Games okay, but all the new pokemon are mostly making the "Rare" types from the old like dark and steel types now common... did anyone notice that there is ABSOLUTELY NO FIRE TYPE (CEPT FOR HEATRAN) IN THE SINNOH GENERATION? XD

Anyway, yeah, I like the way the game turned out. Regardless of what others say, there ARE still things to do after the Elite 4. |
In Chimchar's defense, it's meant to be based off of Son Goku, the Monkey God/King. Hence the crown of fire that Infernape has. So I don't think it was a lack of creativity, but more of an allusion to legend.
The game was a heavy step up in the graphics and sound, and for that alone, D/P is awesome. The inclusion of passed game elements like Swarms and the contests is great, especially since I didn't get Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and felt--just a little--cheated when I got LeafGreen, which was lacking in such things that already weren't in the original Red version that I played years before. -.- And I don't think the Pokémon are all that bad, although the useful ones seem to only really be enhancements or copycats to earlier Pokémon. I liked the starters this generation better than the 3rd though. And seriously, Wi-Fi makes this all moot, because that alone makes this game different and much more expansive than the previous versions. |

ok, they way i'm going to word this....don't get confused. the G/S/C series was my favorite, but i'd have to say that Diamond & Pearl is the best to date. i was so happy and excited to hear that they were bringing back the Day/Night Modifier, and the 3D graphics were excellent, though i think this game could've pushed it limits a lot more (more at least like Gardenia's Gym). some of the Pokémon could've been thought out alittle more, but a lot of them were great (like Drapion or Torterra). well, i'm off to train Pokémon.
|
I would really like them to put all the regions in one whole game like they did with GSC. I am pretty sure there would be enough memory on a cartridge for them to put all the regions in one game.

i mean there is no independent new ones, cept for the starter evolution fire type's gone rare anyone notice that? XD |
Overall I was impressed, although the E4 bugs, Ditto bug etc was disappointing, showing how GameFreak was sloppy on debugging the game.
Other than that, I think the game is too slow. Surfing was much more faster in 3rd gen... However the music is great. I can't believe I actually went out to buy the CD ;) |
i barely played 3rd gen and had no idea what new pokemon to expect either.. so it was a total new original pokemon experience for me, with missing heatbeats when luxray and gastrodon evolved. also the graphics are nice and the story wasn't too bad. better than R/S/E
