My Pokemon Pearl Team

Well, here's my team for Pokemon Pearl. I raised them all.

Surf
Grass Knot
Hydro Cannon
Drill Peck

Luxray Lv. 52 Item: Zap Plate
Shock Wave
Thunder Fang
Scary Face
Crunch

Mismaguis Lv. 56 Item: Spooky Plate
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Magical Leaf
Psychic

Lucario Lv. 52 Item: Black Belt
Shadow Claw
Aura Sphere
Extremespeed
Dragon Pulse

Palkia Lv. 68 Item: Lustrous Orb
Dragon Claw
Spacial Rend
Draco Meteor
Surf

Staraptor Lv. 53 Item: Sky Plate
Arieal Ace
Brave Bird
Defog
Fly

Well, there's my team, good? Bad? Let me know!

Ash&pikachuarethebest June 17th, 2007 3:11 AM

Hi it is a good team well balanced but it doesn't cover every type you need a few other types i would get rid of Staraptor and put a fire type in there i would say then your team will be a little more balanced.

Empoleon Lv.71 Item: Leftovers
Surf
Agility
Flash Cannon / Grass Knot
Ice Beam
Empoleon sucks at anything not named sweeping.

Luxray Lv. 52 Item: Choice Scarf
Ice Fang
Thunderbolt / Thunder
Fire Fang
Crunch
I don't see Luxray being any kind of useful. Replace this.

Mismaguis Lv. 56 Item: Leftovers
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Energy Ball
Will-o-Wisp

Lucario Lv. 52 Item: Life Orb
Flash Cannon
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Dragon Pulse
Meh, I haven't adapted myself to Lucario Movesets yet.

Palkia Lv. 68 Item: Lustrous Orb
Thunderbolt
Spacial Rend
Earth Power
Surf
Usage of ubers = No. Replace this.

Staraptor Lv. 53 Item: Choice Band
Return
Brave Bird
Close Combat
Quick Attack

Well, there's my team, good? Bad? Let me know!

Okay I'm going to give you some pointers.

1. Real men use serious stuff. And by serious, they don't use ubers in their team.

2. Type Boosting Items are the suck. If you're going to do that, you'd be better off using Muscle Band or Wise Specs, and not even those items will help you. That's why Life Orb exists.

3. NEVER use the same STAB attack on a Pokemon (Ex. Your Staraptor had ALL Flying moves).

K I'm done talking. If you're interested, I can actually let you in on how a REAL player plays the game, and I mean competitively.

That_oneguyxx June 17th, 2007 7:03 AM

other than the things they pointed out, I'd say your teams is pretty good

Cyrusman June 17th, 2007 7:15 AM

2 Thunder pokemons .. it might be not so good choose... my opinion is if u have 2 same type pokemons get some power based pokemons

sims796 June 17th, 2007 7:15 AM

Ok. Iceman, settle down. No need to bite his head off. "If you're interested, I can actually let you in on how a REAL player plays the game, and I mean competitively"-is that really necessary? Sure, there are many faults in his team, but not all players MUST play competitevly to be "real players". You didn't make the game.

But you did give great advice. Poke Master, before you get rid of Hydro Cannon, see if you can pass it off as an egg move first. It'll be a waste of a releativly powerful move.

What do you mean two thunder/electric type Pokemon? The only Electric type is Luxray! If your talking about Mismaguis it's a ghost type, I just taught it thunderbolt. Oh yeah, I beat my friends Ho-oh and Mewtwo with this team. (But, if I went up against you guys I'd be a squashed bug!)

Nightofshadow June 17th, 2007 8:58 AM

I hope you dont plan on playing competitively with that team

Adventure-Chan June 17th, 2007 9:05 AM

Ok! Ok! Sheesh! I see it's not the best team but, it was good enough to beat the Pokemon League and all my friends. I will change the attacks and items later on but, I need more advice for my team.

Nightofshadow June 17th, 2007 9:31 AM

my statement wasnt negative. It was because you have an uber on your team and people generally frown upon things like that

Oh, sorry! I wasn't talking to you I was talking to some others up there.

sims796 June 17th, 2007 1:05 PM

Well, I put a post saying that you might wanna replace that Zapdos (while commenting on another post) and I realized that that isn't the best moveset for Luxray. Here's a better one.

Luxray-Adamant
Thunder Fang
Ice Fang
Crunch/Scary Face
Roar

I know for a fact that this isn't the best moveset. But its still better than a few others. Remember, special moves don't really have a place with Luxray, what with that awesome attack.

Empoleon Lv.71 Item: Wave Inceanse
Surf
Grass Knot
Hydro Cannon
Drill Peck

Luxray Lv. 52 Item: Zap Plate
Shock Wave Roar (Luxray specializes in ATK, and if you don't like what you're up against, use Roar.)
Thunder Fang
Scary Face
Crunch

Mismaguis Lv. 56 Item: Spooky Plate
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Magical Leaf
Psychic Will-o-Wisp.

Lucario Lv. 52 Item: Black Belt
Shadow Claw Close Combat.
Aura Sphere
Extremespeed
Dragon Pulse

Palkia Lv. 68 Item: Lustrous Orb
Dragon Claw
Spacial Rend
Draco Meteor Earthquake. I don't remember if it can learn it, but I'm 99% sure it can.
Surf
Oh, and use Palkia, it's your choice. >_>

Staraptor Lv. 53 Item: Sky Plate
Arieal Ace Quick Attack. For those annoying, faster types.
Brave Bird
Defog Endeavor. If the going gets tough, just make them feel how you feel.
Fly
EW, 4 birdy moves? Unacceptable. D:
Okay, I'm kind of liking your team. Just a few minor problems here and there (especially that Staraptor).

And go ahead and use Palkia, it's perfectly fine, just have a back-up for those non-legendary Pokemon users.

Shiraishi June 18th, 2007 11:56 AM

Your entire team are a bunch of sweepers..(like mine T.T) anyone got advice on how to train a tanker? D:

"Y halo thar Specsmence, lemme wall your Draco Meteor with mah 84/101 + resist, and force you to switch or take 4x Ice Beam from 111 SAttk."

And yeah, Specsmence is pretty popular.

Just how exactly do I teach it Ice Fang? (Move Tutor? What level?)

sims796 June 19th, 2007 7:05 PM

Egg move. He gets it by an egg move.

Adventure-Chan June 21st, 2007 11:05 AM

Egg move? -_- Uh, no thanks. Well I taught my team some new moves but, I'm till working on it.

sims796 June 21st, 2007 4:13 PM

Ha Ha...thats exactly what I say about egg moves. I'm not getting a Roserade with Leaf Storm cause I don't care for breeding.

Adventure-Chan June 21st, 2007 4:22 PM

Heh.. Exactly! It takes forever to do this and you have to raise them to the exact same level!
