Yeah drinking water while eating food gives the water the same taste as the food. You don't want that to happen. :P

We usually have milk too, and I really don't mind drinking it plain, (although chocolate and strawberry milk tastes even better hehe) so that's another option I have. You get hyper when you drink water? Maybe sice it's so good for you, it gives you energy....I don't know hehe...
Yeah, water doesn't taste very good with food. It's best to drink it in-between meals. Sometimes I just drink soda because I want to drink something that has an actual flavor.

I hate drinking tap water. I really prefer clear bottled water... so luckily my mom has started buying lots of it this year! Plain milk's okay... I usually only use it with cereal though. I really do like chocolate milk though.

And yes, for some strange reason I get hyper when I drink water. Except at the moment it has not made me hyper only because I'm still sick. But normally it does. I have no clue why it does that either! I mean, it doesn't have caffeine or sugar in it so what exactly is causing this effect on me? It's the weirdest thing. I think I scared my friend once when I was talking to her online after I had gotten hyper due to me drinking water... it was funny though...

OK! You can have Coke! But the thing is... YING!!! *Runs even faster*

Nobdy is saying ****. You guys aren't fun anymore. All you do is talk about beverages! Speaking of beverages, have you seen that Van HELLsing movie?

Chairman Kaga May 15th, 2004 7:20 PM

Am I the only one that drinks 1% milk? It's not as bland as skim, but not as creamy as 2%...people think I'm weird for drinking 1%...but why should anyone even care about what type of milk other people drink? ._.

^^NICK^^ v.2.0 May 15th, 2004 7:24 PM

I drink 2% milk. I never knew the diff until last week when i accidentally got Skim Milk or SKin, and it tasted watery. Speaking of milk, i want some hot chocolate.

The chlorine from tap water is supposed to sap calcium from you or something, so there's actually a negative effect to drinking tap water. Although I'd much rather drink chocolate or strawberry milk, it's not bad alone. (Oh, and there's a 1% milk? I had no idea hehe...doesn't sound bad to me!)

Hmm, still sick eh? Well, the water should be helping your condition, so that's a good thing. I hope you get better soon!
That's kinda funny! It's strange, but funny that instead of caffeine that makes you hyper, it's water. Like I said, maybe you just get energy from the nutrients in it!

What's wrong with beverages? Hmm? This is a bar after all!
No, I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard it wasn't very good.....nope!

Tap water tastes infected, eww. I hate it, even with ice.

Tap water has a negative effect? Really? I didn't know that... I just don't like it or trust it really. I'd much rather drink bottled water.

I don't drink 1% milk either... I drink whole milk. But like I said... I usually only drink milk when it's chocolate or with cereal... I don't really like it on it's own...

And yeah, unfortunatly I'm still sick. And it seems to be worse today than previous days. I found out today that I do have a fever to go along with my sore throat. When I woke up this morning I couldn't talk at all and my voice slowly returned... but not fully. It still cracks every once in awhile. So I ended up drinking a lot of water today to try to help my throat feel better. I've had a sore throat since what? Last Sunday! And I've felt sick like this since Wednesday night...

tap water tastes different in different places. where i live we have lovely tap water, but at my grandma's beach house the water tastes really bad.

Uh-huh, supposedly. I'm not sure if it's entirely true, but since you don't drink or like tap water there isn't much to worry about right?

I drink 2% milk, and I can really drink it whenever. It's not too bad on it's own, but it defenitely does taste better with cereal or a flavor added to it. You have to drink it quick though, seeing as how if you leave it alone fot too long it develops a strange taste.

A fever? Not good....
Fevers are a sign that you do have some kind of virus, so I guess it is more serious then, at least I, first expected.
....and that's a long time to have a cold of some sort. I remember when I got hives once. Ugh, I had it almost all summer and it wasn't fun in the least! Hopefully I won't have to go through that again!
It's sure to let up sometime soon!

Huh? Is that German or Russian? Why do you speak every language except english?

Dizzy May 15th, 2004 7:58 PM

Scusi is Italian, I picked that up from my grandmother. Why do I speak every language except English? Well, English (or Ingles how I say it) isn't my first language. I learned it in Portugal upon coming to America, so even though I was like what 5 when I came to America, and I speak English just like the rest of you guys normally, It's still not my first. Portuguese and Spanish are my first languages. I plan on learning French, since I was born in France. And Italian, just so that I can learn the 4 Main Romance Languages. After I'm done with school, I'm either moving Back to Europe, or staying in America getting a super-cool job.

I may not like tap water but sometimes when there isn't any bottles of water left I have to drink it from the tap. But I definitely like bottled water better! After all, it makes me hyper! But seriously, the day after I had a hyper conversation with my friend online... the next day on our way to lunch she said something like, "Ashley! No more water for you!" and she took away my bottle of water! So I fought her for it! Well not literally fought but I did end up snatching it back rather quickly! I seriously think I'm addicted to water... but at least it's good for me!

While my parents were at church I went downstairs and took my temperature... and I found out that I have a fever of around 101°... but I never told my parents about it. Maybe I should have though. Oh well with a lot of rest hopefully I'll get better soon! I never expected it to be this serious either! It all started with a headache due to high humidity! That and that sore throat. But you're right that a week does seem like an awful long time to have a sore throat... especially one that gets worse as time goes on. The hives? I've never gotten the hives before and I don't really want to either! That doesn't sound like fun. When I was in 3rd grade I got an pneumonia though. I was out of school for over a week because of it. That wasn't fun either...

^^NICK^^ v.2.0 May 15th, 2004 8:01 PM

You lived in Europe? Where in Europe?

Dizzy May 15th, 2004 8:07 PM

I was born in Europe, France to be exact. I lived in Portugal for the first 5 years of my life. Then I moved to America, where I'm going to remain for a while.

It's supposed to have a noticable effect only after you drink a lot of tap water. There should be no problem if you only drink a little.
In a way, it's actually good to be addicted to water! At least it's good for you, like you said! My mom says, that when you think you're hungry between meals, try drinking some water, and see if you're still hungry. Sometimes, you're just thirsty!

She took it away from you? I would've liked to see that hehe...
Fighting over water....it makes me wonder what she would suggest you drink besides water. Soda? That wouldn't help hehe....

Hmm, you probably should. Fevers are nothing to take lightly, so you need to inform your parents about it. Aren't they worried that you haven't been feeling very well over the past few days?
There may be a chance that you are dehydrating....I'm not sure. The humidity part immediately made me consider that. All you can really do is continue to drink water and keep up your strength. It should blow over in time. The hives are like the chicken pox, but I think I got it by eating undercooked fish at Long John Silvers.
...I never ate there again hehe....
They were so annoying! I could hardly do anything I wanted to.
Pneumonia?! Wow, what happened? That's a pretty serious cold. I'm glad you got over it okay...

I guess being addicted to water is a good thing! But a little strang too! And even weirder that it makes me hyper. And yes, she stole my water bottle from me! So I stole it back! And I have no idea what she'd rather have me drink! It was funny though... I guess my hyperness hadn't worn off from the night before. I get really weird when I'm hyper though... proably because it doesn't happen to me often. Only when I drink a lot of water! And yeah, water does tend to fill you up when your hungry! Whenever I go to a restaurant to eat my mom tells me not to drink too much water while waiting for my food because then I won't be hungry anymore...

I guess I should have told them... but it's kinda late now. My mom probably went to sleep hours ago. If I still feel sick I'll tell them tomorrow, which is actually today technically! I guess they are a little concerned... they haven't really said much about it. I've spent most of the time, today especially, in my room while they were outside enjoying the nice weather. And for some reason I seriously doubt that I'm dehydrated! I always drink tons of water so I don't really think that's the case... but it could be. It was just really hot that night and I started getting a really bad headache. That's what started all this.

I've never gotten the chicken pox either. All my cousins have... the only ones who never got them are me and my sister. But I did get vaccinated for it at one point. Undercooked fish? Well I don't like seafood anyway so I don't eat there... but it's good to know not to eat there. Oh, my pneumonia! Well I remember it happening in the winter of 3rd grade so I was probably 8. you see, I was outside playing basketball at night wearing short-sleeves and no coat... not the smartest thing to do but I was only 8 years old! So I ended up getting a pneumonia from it. I don't remember much about it other than I was out of school for over a week...

EDIT: Yes cocaine used to be in Coke... hence the name. Now instead of cocaine they put caffeine in it instead to give the same kinda effect. We just did presentations on drugs in health... that's why I know that off hand. But it is kinda obvious in a way...

I don't like Dr. Pepper, either. It just has an odd taste and everyone thinks I'm crazy for not liking it. Blech...nasty! I alternate back and forth between soda and water. Like, after 2 glasses of soda I'm ready to drink water, lol. Which makes for a lot of bathroom runs since soda is a diuretic and water just plain makes you have to go...^_^;; Sprite's always a good drink to have if you want something light, basically. I never get sick of Sprite.

Yeah, I also mentioned cocaine used to be an ingredient in Coke a long while back in some thread I can't remember. But, it wasn't a LOAD of cocaine as some of you may think...it was a very, very small amount. Last year, when I was in our school's production of the musical Grease, one of Marty's lines was ". . . I caught him puttin' aspirin in my Coke." My teacher explained that aspirin would react with Coke because, back in the 50s, cocaine was an ingredient and it would make you high or a little tipsy. And it is obvious--Coca Cola, from cocaine. Coca Cola was created by a pharmacist in Georgia that ran a drug store/pharmacy and it was used as an elixer to settle stomachs because of the syrup in it; but, people found it so tasty that he decided to finally market it. I believe that's how it originated...
