Lovin' the Unloved

hehe, ok so I suck with topic titles.
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has some particularly under-used pokemon that they consider to be a really good pokemon.

My personal favorite choice for an under-used pokemon is

Dodrio, I like it 'cuz it's very very fast and a decent attacker.

I know it's defenses are horrible but after a long while (way back in sapphire)
I figured this really good move set for it, that KO's almost anything (except ghost types) in like 2 attacks. It works by turning it's weakness into it's
strength.

Here's my UBER dodrio move set.
I do realize that a skilled battler wouldn't have much trouble defeating it.
but honestly how often do you see dodrio on someone's team so it's likely
to be a nasty surprise for people.

Dodrio - "Fraoch" <-- Celtic god of fury
Jolly/Adamant
Ability: Early Bird
EV: Spd.252, Atk 252, HP 4
@ Salac Berry
Endure
Protect
Endeavor
Aerial Ace

the basic idea of the move set should be fairly simple to understand.
I've used this on Net Battle back when that was still workin'.
This moveset PWNS pretty much every type it's weak to, in only 2 attacks.
I've taken down entire teams with it.

Anyway that's my love for the unloved pokemon.
what're your pokemon that you love that no one else seems to?

Hi Vanirelf

Hello! Im new to this PokeCommunity, so I wanted to say hi, and that it looks as though you are a very good trainer. Not many people like pokemon when they "lose interest". I dont have a personal pokemon that I like that nobody else does at the moment, but i think that all pokemon should be treated equally. Like Bidoof, for example. Bidoof is a very fine pokemon, but not many people give it respect because of It being weak. I find that cruel. So, best of luck to you, and i hope we can be friends! ;)

i acutly once traind a bidoof not a bibarl a bidoof and he was great at contests and battles but my realy traind under used is misqurain no one use him i don't think any one remamber him

Dunsparce has the second best move pool, next to Mew.

I Love..

I love my Clefable...He knows Thunder, Metronome, Focus Blast, And Flamethrower....When he was a clefairy he helped me wipe out an entire gym...I love him!

I used Raticate and Butterfree. They're both pretty good, especially raticate's super fang and butterfree's sleep powder and compundeyes.

Nice Butterfree Sam! I love Butterfree, and yours sounds awesome!

Elite 4 Sam June 23rd, 2007 1:49 PM

thx! it beat Koga's gym without healing once And it was 10 levels higher than my starter

Gymnotide June 23rd, 2007 2:58 PM

My #1 favorite has to be the following Pokemon.

Rattata (Any Nature) @ Focus Sash
Guts
-- Endeavor
-- Quick Attack

K.O.s level 100's easily.

Zangoose @ Salac Berry
Immunity
-- Swords Dance
-- Substitute
-- Flail
-- Night Slash

Same concept.

my Marowak and Lapras. Marowak helped me beat the Master contest for Tough and my Lapras won for the Master rank Beauty contest. Of course I love Ghost types but hey what can I say

Eureka1 June 23rd, 2007 9:31 PM

i swear dodrio is an awesome pokemon..

my final blue team has one

jasonresno June 23rd, 2007 9:33 PM

He may or may not be good (I could care less about IV/EV's or stats) but my Onix has been carrying me lately in my game.

Eureka1 June 23rd, 2007 9:34 PM

well, onix gets better when its steelix :O a LOT better

jasonresno June 23rd, 2007 9:40 PM

How does Onix evolve to Steelix? Not through level ups, correct?

haha, you trade it with a steel coat attached

just like in pokemon gold :D

I would say Aggron... double weakness to ground and fighting, but enough Defense for it not to be an OHKO. He has a monster Attack stat (for a UU), decent HP. And he has an amazingly versatile movepool, being able to learn Surf and Solarbeam (although, anyone who actually teaches Aggron special moves is a fool).

But I went with:

Aggron @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Rock Slide
- Thunder Wave

Thunder Wave to make up for his terrible Speed, and to scare any Special Sweeper that might want to switch in. Rock Slide for a STAB and flinch, and SubPunch to take out many things.

Waffle-San June 24th, 2007 2:55 PM

How unused is Grumpig, cause i find him great for annoying people yet doing damage at the same time.

TwilightBlade June 24th, 2007 3:19 PM

Most of my pokemon are "underused"... Lol. I never evolved my Croconaw or Marshtomp or Vibrava and I have a nice Houndoom, Delcatty, Arbok, Flareon, Butterfree, Spinda, Clefable, Rapidash, Manetric, Typhlosion, Grumpig, Zangoose, all of them. :P

Linoone June 24th, 2007 3:22 PM

linoones are quite good, cause they have a nice array of different types of moves, and nice stats, if you fix the sp attack of course, my lead pokemon is a linoone, and nope, no drawbacks, except with fighting types but I can take care of those with a tactic of mine :3

Barboach June 24th, 2007 3:26 PM

I like Walrein as a UU poke.

His moveset can be quite the hand full.

Sleep Talk
Rest
Ice Beam
Surf

Warheart June 24th, 2007 3:42 PM

Nidoking is my favorite underused pokemon; Most of his stats are decent, and he has Massive attack, as well as a fairly high sp. attack. Plus, ironically, he can use alot of different move types, even some that he is weak against, IE surf.

Plus, his shiny form is blue, and the fact that he looks absolutely kick-ass xD

41victory June 24th, 2007 4:14 PM

i use a primeape. it has really high attack and decent movepool. with dark moves it learns if its faster it could land a good hit on a psy type. i also use a togekiss. really high sp attack. havent seen people with them
