is wrong...

Edmonton is biggest in term of city sizes in Canada. You see we like to waste space by sticking in parking lots everywhere... (seriously we ARE the biggest city in Canada city limit-wise)

I'm not sure about this one but maybe Quebec is bigger than Ontario...

I'm sure Quebec is bigger than Ontario in terms of size but I don't know about the city part.:P

MoonLight September 28th, 2003 7:22 PM

Im from Cape Breton,Nova Scotia Canada

Keitaro September 28th, 2003 7:27 PM

I live so close to Quebec which tells you where all the people who speak french come from lol

Frostweaver September 28th, 2003 7:32 PM

Cape Breton... wasn't that a place somewhat important in Canadian history? but gosh i can't remember what now...

surprisingly there's a lot more Canadians than i thought :)

MoonLight September 28th, 2003 7:36 PM

Hmm i have no clue myself lol and i lived here my whole life so i have know idea what would be important here

Keitaro September 28th, 2003 7:46 PM

The history of Cape Breton Island is a multicultural one. At one time or another, it has been dominated by First Nations' Mi'kmaq, French, British, and later predominantly Scottish peoples. When Europeans arrived in the region, Mi'kmaq-speaking natives occupied the coastal areas of Gaspé (now part of Quebec) and the Maritime provinces east of New Brunswick's Saint John River. Artifacts from what are believed to be former Mi'kmaq camps have been found in coastal sites in Cape Breton. Before European colonization, the Mi'kmaq frequented various river estuaries along the Atlantic coast, living primarily on abundant fish, clams and other shellfish. European settlers were attracted to these same areas, drawn by the fisheries and the presence of deep harbours from which timber and fish could be shipped. In the early 1500s, long before European settlement, the Canso area was an important fisheries post, as Nova Scotia's closest land to the great North Atlantic fishing grounds. Road winding along the Cabot Trail Following the sighting and identification of Cape Breton Island by European navigator John Cabot in 1497, it remained unsettled until France staked a claim and fortified it between 1713 and 1758. In 1763, Cape Breton was ceded to Great Britain and remained part of the colony of Nova Scotia until 1784 when it became a separate colony. A large influx of Scottish Highlanders began settling on Cape Breton Island after 1820, when the island rejoined Nova Scotia. By 1840 more than 20,000 Scots had flowed into the area, making Gaelic the third most common language spoken in Canada in the late 1800s.

We should read up on our history I see lol.

Frostweaver September 28th, 2003 7:50 PM

oh... i only know about the French and English part for Cape Breton... lol. I also know about the John Cabot finding that place too. Oh all those grade 8 social study is flowing back into me ^_^;

Yeah Quebec is bigger in size but more than half it's population is in the Montreal region so the northen part is a wasteland.

I am not asking for an address, I am asking for a zip, or at best a state so I can put a dot on the map, i really don't think people can guess where you live by a zip code, cuz thousands have the same zip. If you want, you can email me your zip and I will just add it to the map, no one will know its your dot. But still if you are that strongly against sharing even knowlege that general, thats ok.

Blaine September 29th, 2003 1:54 PM

I made the Canada map too, The person who is in Quebec has posted a message somewhere in this thread that said quebec. I am just placing dots, not keeping track of who is where. I hope to have a europe map, asia map, etc. Soon or in the next few days.
