Which pokemon was Ash dumb enough to give away?

I think he was really dumb when he gave Charizard away, it was his strongest pokemon

Arcanine September 28th, 2003 8:38 PM

It was the worst thing to give Charizard away.
Well I think this would be better in Pokémon TV Shows and Movies.

Kenta September 28th, 2003 8:52 PM

I think he should have kept Pidgeot

I would have helped a lot in the Silver Conference

Frostweaver September 28th, 2003 9:18 PM

i think he did the right thing... he got a heroic image to keep up you know... "must allow the Pokemon to go to the path s/he desired". Even Musashi and Kojirou got influenced by satoshi and even they are starting to release their pokemon (but that was one sad episode...)

Oh Jess and James. Ok now I know who you are talking about.

Iveechan September 29th, 2003 12:37 AM

Even though Butterfree needed to mate, Ash REALLY should've kept it. I guess the anime thought having something known for spreading sleep powder around a lot too powerful.

G-LANCE September 29th, 2003 12:52 AM

i chose larvitar man!
i mean, ash with a tyranitar (after it evolves), who doesn't wanna see that?!

Kayleigh September 29th, 2003 2:12 AM

I know! And I still think that Lapras was extremely useful... He's almost always complaining about the ferry every time they're on an island. =_=;

Shelz4U September 29th, 2003 12:06 PM

He should have kept Pidgeot.

Sudowoodo_prince September 29th, 2003 12:56 PM

I don't think it's right to call him 'dumb', I guess he does the right thing.
Like with Lapras, there were family matters. And he gave Charizard to that girl so his Charizard could get stronger. And he left Squirtle because Squirtle's squad was hopeless without Squirtle.

I do sorta agree with the Larvitar matter...but, like with Lapras, family matters.
I mean, can you imagine what the Tyranitar mother would've done if he'd kept it away from her? :dead:

Timbjerr September 29th, 2003 1:07 PM

it is a close tie between Butterfree and Pidgeot...

Butterfree could use Sleep Powder and end a battle almost instantly (or at least by how battles go in the anime...)

Pidgeot could've easily become an awesome aerial battler if he had kept it (it's gust attack was awesome in the one episode it appeared in)

I wouldn't consider Charizard "given away" as Ash could just call upon Liza and she will send it right over.

Rift September 29th, 2003 3:24 PM

Ash shouldntve give any off his Pokemon away!!! well, exept for a few, like Larvitar, and Lapras. Ash always says he'll see them soon, so whens soon? when hes 30? i choose Charizard, cause hes probly the strongest Pokemon Ash'll ever have!

Keitaro October 2nd, 2003 2:10 AM

He wanted Bulbasaur, Charmander & Squirtle before even Pikachu so those are the three he should of always kept.

PKMN_grl October 2nd, 2003 4:36 PM

I think he should have kept them all.... but it's his Pokemon so I don't really care.

Haruka October 2nd, 2003 7:17 PM

He should of kept Butterfree or Pidgeot... They are powerful pokemon and it could help him in a tight spot.

TrinityX October 4th, 2003 1:43 PM

lol i think he gave away primeape was stupid i loved him !

D*** straight, Kenny boi!! If I were Ash, I'd take the Larvitar and train it to be TYRANITAR!!! *roars* Larvitar's a VERY good pokemon with great stats!! He should have kept it!! ARGH! Sorry if I'm getting out of shape but I am such in a crappy mood today, cus I got the crap beaten out of me by my grandpa cus I didn't buy his drinks.. : P But yes, Larvitar is very strong. Also Charizard and Pidgeot.. I cried when he let go of Pidgeot!!! *cries*

*Pidgeot kills CaRtOON*

The Overlord October 16th, 2003 12:14 AM

I just think ash iz the dumbest trainer giving his pokemon
away if he wanted to do that he shouldent have caught
them in the first place and also he wants to be a pokemon master right! than why doesent he catch the
wild pokemon he seez.

Porygon October 16th, 2003 8:30 AM

He shouldn't have given his Charizard away. Sure, it was so that it could be trained, but he could've used it in many battles instead of always relying on Pikachu.

Lanceiscool October 20th, 2003 5:48 AM

I have been begging for a reunion episode, where Ash sees all his old pokemon, since haunter left. I guess since he's going to Hoenn I won't get it :( :( :'(

Sturm October 20th, 2003 7:02 AM

The one that he should keep is Charizard...

Skitty16 October 20th, 2003 7:10 AM

I would say butterfree and charizard

invinible October 20th, 2003 1:58 PM

Before I can vote in this poll, I need to know why he gave everyone of those pokemon away.

Charizard: he dropped it off at the Charicific Valley to become stronger (I don't consider it a loss, because he can get it back just by giving Liza a call)
Butterfree: He sent it off for breeding purposes
Primeape: He sent it off to train with a real fighting-type trainer (I really didn't get it :\)
Beedrill: He gave it to Casey because she likes yellow and black striped pokemon...
Squirtle: He sent it back to the Squirtle Squad to help them win a pokémon firefighting competition...
Lapras: he returned it to its family
Pidgeot: He left it behind to watch over the pidgey and pidgeotto of the Viridian forest
Larvitar: He had to ruturn it to its mother (but it was never really Ash's pokémon to begin with)
Pokémon at Oak's: includes Kingler, Muk, Tauros, Snorlax, Heracross, Bulbasaur, Bayleef, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Noctowl, Phanpy as of the episode "Gotta Cath ya later"

well butterfree have a very short life, he did the right thing letting him go. after laying their eggs, butterfree die and fall down into the sea. so ash wouldn't be with him very long after anyway. (i have this guess that butterfree's spirit comes back on Mt.Pyre, probably in a late Houen episode)

Kayleigh October 20th, 2003 7:26 PM

Ehh? Butterfree die after laying their eggs...? Ash's poor Butterfree! T-T I knew he shouldn't have let it go off and mate.. sort of. Maybe one of its babies will come to visit Ash and he can capture it, etc. But then.. Caterpie can't fly so he'd have to wait til it evolved into Butterfree so it could fly across the ocean. o_o; Ah well... Butterfree are one of my favorite Pokémon, so this was pretty interesting to learn.

Haruka October 20th, 2003 7:33 PM

Interesting... how butterfree have a short life span.

About Beautifly?

Than I have to vote that Ash did the right thing
