i assume its four evs to a stat, giving you an extra 63 points in what your training in. but wasnt sure if im right?! :knockedou

Yes, you're totally right. You divide the total ammount of EVs with 4 and then you find the total stat gain (with the maximum being, as you pointed out, 63 in one stat).

Shiny Umbreon July 27th, 2007 7:51 AM

Remember it's EVs / 4 rounded down. Just in case you missed that.

Does anyone understand IV's??
i only just understand Ev's

Shiny Umbreon July 30th, 2007 8:34 AM

Read a guide somewhere. There's not much to understand. It's just this: if you're lucky, your Pokémon will have higher stats. Now IV breeding is a different thing. Check serebii.net

Ho-oh arabia July 30th, 2007 5:19 PM

uhh, can someone explain to me what EV training is?

Alex_ July 30th, 2007 5:28 PM

The best place (In my opinion, at least) to train for speed is Route 201 where there are tons of Starly.

Skelter July 31st, 2007 7:05 AM

will EV training still work using exp. share?...

Trainer Mehmet July 31st, 2007 10:51 AM

Can Someone tell what that is I don't understand that Effort Value.

Er...Have you tried Route 228? Sorry, can't add anything worse than what there is now.

Yep. Exp. Share is like battling.

There's a tutorial on top of the first post that explains quite well, you know?

EVs are sweet.

1. Are EVs worth the training? Do they make your Pokemon really alot stronger?

2. How do I tell how many EVs my Pokemon has?

3. How do I reduce the EVs of my Pokemon?

4. What is the maximum number of EVs a Pokemon can have?

1. Yes, and yes. I just had a zapdos gain 22 points in the spec. attack column in one level-up.

2. Count with the training table on psypokes.

3. Certain berries in Emerald can lower your pokemon's EVs. Only in Emerald though, darn it all. Thats why its good to EV train early, so you dont inadvertantly put EVs where you dont want/need them in everyday non-EV training.

4. A pokemon can have a max of 510 EVs total. You can have up to 255 in one stat, meaning you can max out two stats.

I got a good area to train Defense, the Eterna Forest is infested with Silcoon/Cascoon, and if you happen to have FR/LG you can make it so Metapod and Kakuna also appear there and they all give 2 EV's. If it hasn't been mentioned yet anyways... I find it's very effective with the Pokeradar. I realize Wurmple appear there and so do other Pokemon, even the occasional Beautifly/Dustox... but yeah. I managed to get Defense EV training done in no time, for my Glaceon and my Vespiquen.

Where is the best place to level up your Pokemon?

I'm still having problems levelling up my Pokemon (currently, I have 7 badges and I'm on my way to get Palkia), so does anyone have any suggestions on where I should level them up?

My main concern is my Lucario (Around L.v 35). I want to get most of my 'mon round the Lv. 45 mark without having to resort to trading.

Eruption August 2nd, 2007 10:50 AM

I'm not sure much.

In LG, I usually just went to any place with loads of trainers and sed the VS seeker.

So maybe try that a bit?

Kraka-chan August 2nd, 2007 10:56 AM

I see someone has moved my thread...

Please note that I know nothing about EVs, IVs and things like that (So please don't ask). I just want to know where to level up.

Thanks! :)

Shiny Umbreon August 3rd, 2007 12:54 PM

This has nothing to do with good places to level up, so if your thread was moved, you should try to contact a moderator.

RedAero147 August 5th, 2007 11:25 PM

If you have a macho brace on a pokerus infected pokemon, is it x4 EV or just x2?

Shiny Umbreon August 6th, 2007 7:06 AM

Pokérus is x2. Macho Brace is x2.

EVs x 2 x 2 = EVs x 4

The route west of Sunyshore is a great way to EV train attack and gain money at the same time. There's a trainer with 2 Gyarados (4 atk total), and another trainer close by with a lv. 60 Luxio (2 atk), and he also gives 19k money with Amulet Coin.

Ruisu August 7th, 2007 3:36 AM

I was wondering which would be more unbeatable a ev trained spiritomb or a drifblim? sorry if this is not the right place to post this.

Shiraishi August 7th, 2007 3:40 AM

I dont fancy the HP EV training spot D: Gastrodon is common but so are floatzels..and they happen to outspeed my tankers which I train there.

BoBoMaster13 August 7th, 2007 3:56 AM

A good way to train attack is to use the v.s seeker on the Richboy on the way to sunnyshore forgot route # but if you have amulet coin you can get lots of money too.

OK. I'll put in a minute.
EDIT: Didn't put the Gyarados one because there's already a trainer with six Magikarp that evolve, better than two Magikarp that evolve, but the rich boy is okay because he gives you money.

It's the same as the one above...

Sorry, not the right place. Try the strategies & movesets forum.

Yeah, I just noticed most HP training places have Speed or Attack EV Pokémon, too. If you train your Pokémon by switching with another one, you can still run (as long as it's leveled up). If you don't, switch if you find Floatzel (I know, it's a lot of time, but there's nothing else at the moment) Sorry, I'll be trying to get that section better.

EDIT: Just so you know, the thread was updated to include a guide to EV training at the top. You're still welcome to contribute with the locations.

Live in Color August 8th, 2007 5:35 PM

Yep, the guide was by me. :) With some help from a few other sites where I gained my knowledge. If there's anything that needs to be added perhaps, please PM me or Shiny Umbreon, and we'll fix it.

Shiny Umbreon August 8th, 2007 7:50 PM

OK. The title was changed. "Good EV training locations" didn't make sense anymore because it was just one part of the guide.

Live in Color August 8th, 2007 8:23 PM

Now it's time to takeover and make one super guide. :P
