Ultra Noob Question!!

I have heard people talking about how someone uses Skarmbliss or Skarmgross and, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that means that they use a Skarmory and a Blissey or a Skarmory and a Metagross. What I would like to know is what is this strategy and why is it effective enough to have its own name?

Thanks

I want to know just out of curiosity. I already have a wifi team so thats not going to change. I just want to know out of curiosity and maybe so I can find a way to protect myself against people who use it.

Skarmory is usually a Spiker, so he uses moves like Whirlwind to shuffle the Opponents Pokemon and damage them with moves like Toxic and Spikes.

As for Blissey: she's a Healer but can also be a Sponge.

I don't know how they would go together, and I don't know anything about Metagross.

I haven't heard of skarmgross before, but skarmbliss is the most used combo of pokemon in competitive battling, for the reasons, they are GREAT walls, skarm takes physical damage without batting an eye, and blissey just soaks special attacks, and people just alternate between these two pokemon, annoying, and attempting to lay spikes, it's a boring strategy (imo) But very effective.

I've never heard of this strategy before, but like Dutch_Courage said, try to win with your favorites.

Skarmory is served as a physical tank(dominates tyranitar, metagross, salamence etc), while blissey dominates those who uses sp. attacks (like alakazam, gengar etc)
