Holy Azumarill moveset... please comment

Recently i started liking azumarill.. and some friends gave me some movesets which have almost never let me down
http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfsa/dpmfsa184.png :D
Ability:Huge Power
Item:sitrus berry
-Aqua Ring
-Belly Drum
-Aqua Jet
-Giga Impact

EV trained in attack and HP

ok first you use aqua ring, therss your "leftovers". Then, use belly drum, you go to half HP, then you eat the sitrus berry bringing you to 3/4 hp, then healed from aqua ring. Next, Aqua Jet them FTW, always attacks first with a Power of 60 (because of STAB) and an attack of 1700+, and Giga Impact for water resisters. Oh and you CAN still use AJ on stuff like dragons, it still owns, and azuamrill has never died to 1 tbolt except for a hacked charizards volt tackle at 999 attk

Azumaril is actually underrated in terms of what it can do as a physical sweeper. I don't think that moveset works though since it'll be hard to pull off belly drum without getting KO'd. I mean you're possibly receiving a hit in the first turn you use aquaring, given you survive it you belly drum and lose half your hp, that's just asking for a beating.

yes belly drum is pretty difficult, but i have never failed to do one, its only weakness is shedinja or burn/poison

Samson June 27th, 2007 3:09 PM

yay! i love using my physical azumarill. here's what i have:

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Adamant Nature
Ability: Huge Power
252 HP/172 DEF/84 SP DEF
-Waterfall
-Ice Punch
-Body Slam
-Belly Drum
it really doesn't need any attack evs with belly drum + adamant nature. it needs to be able to survive some hits even after using Belly Drum.

i like your moveset tho. there's just a few problems with it... Giga Impact prevents you from attacking for one turn. i highly suggest you either replace it for body slam or brick break. other than that, aqua jet + aqua ring is a real good combo.

Azumarill is naturally good defensive wise, he hasnt died when he used Belly Drum because he moves last, and for some reason people like to set up when they see azu. plus giga impact has not lost the game because i had to recharge and it helps kill dragons with ease, but it takes some luck while recharging youjust gotta hope they think its a chance to set up :P (like most of the time)

sims796 June 29th, 2007 8:12 AM

People set up when they see Azumarill because they see it as no real threat. They see Azumarill and think 'Oh, a puny Azumarill, well, why waste the blessing? It can't hurt me, so I can use this time to set up my stats'. All the while you re doing some damage to there pokemon. Its quite ingenious, if you ask me. I never would of thought of that. Kinda like a bluff.

now that you posted this, i need to watch out for azumarill :D

yeah i thought azumarill was underrated, but it was the only water type i had in emerald so i respect it

if status is a problem then you can consider "facade" as one of your moves. you know, turn their strategy against them.

Samson June 29th, 2007 9:50 AM

you REALLY don't need Giga Impact with Belly Drum under its belt. body slam takes care of all dragons and other water types and doesn't force you to wait out for a turn.

buizel6 July 2nd, 2007 5:39 AM

yes it isnt necessary but a 150 power plus 1744 attack is deadly, about twice as deadly as a boy slam (except for the recharge) but people like to set up when its recharging... and thats where you get 3 aqua ring heals (one from when you kill the pokemon and 1 from recharging and 1 from killing the next)

And Thanks c dog i totaly forgot about facade >_>;;

Samson, i like ur Axuamrill A lot, but i think these should be edited:
Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Adamant Nature
Ability: Huge Power
252 HP/252 ATK/6Def
-Aqua Jet
-Ice Punch
-Body Slam
-Belly Drum

Instead of waterfall, why not get a first strike move, it gets the STAB and it hits first, Whats there to complain about except for the minimal Damage %? and Give it the 252 in Attack so that it can max out to 436, and with belly drum 1744 o.O

Azumarill can't get Belly Drum and Aqua Jet without the use of a glitch only avaliable in early Japanese DP, which will most likely be outlawed in competitive play. Nintendo removed the glitch, meaning it was a mistake and therefore illegal.

And use Body Slam.

No. They are breeding moves. And yes, as soon as you use Giga Impact, against me, at least, I will take you out on the spot. Get Body Slam.

sanjay120 July 2nd, 2007 8:27 AM

They are illegal combination breeding moves. The only way to get them both was to use the fainted Ditto trick.

sims796 July 2nd, 2007 8:32 AM

I see...Had no idea of all of these tricks.

sanjay120 July 2nd, 2007 8:36 AM

Nintendo decided to get rid of them. I hate it when they do that.

You can very easily and "legally" get Belly Drum as an Egg Move in the third Gen.

yes it does its the first pokemon in the dex to learn it by level up

sanjay120 July 2nd, 2007 10:53 AM

I know you can get Belly Drum.

You can't get Belly Drum and Aqua Jet.

Samson July 2nd, 2007 11:56 AM

ah so waterfall it is! XD

now that it doesn't have Aqua Jet for the speed priority, it could really use more defensive EVs, as i earlier suggested. otherwise, it dies to everything.

bah i guess u win samson.. >.>

Portujesus July 2nd, 2007 3:45 PM

Belly Drum with Huge Power is nice to hear but not easy to do.
A choice scarfer or even bander work better.

Avolition July 2nd, 2007 4:10 PM

But what's the difference between a Choice Band and Choice Scarf? I know the Specs are for special attack, but what about Scarf?

Angelic Diablo July 2nd, 2007 4:14 PM

Scarf boosts Speed, therefore making a not so fast pokemon, very fast
