elite 4 too easy in gold???
i may be alone in this but did anyone else notice how easy the G/S/C e4 to be way too easy
YES!!! It was extremely easy! :( Disappointingly easy :( The strongest Pokemon was level..45? :P It was too easy. My friend bet that game with just a level 63 Poliwrath
REALLY! The elite four were really weak!!!!!!!!!
Actually the strongest was 47 (Karen's Houndoom)... if you include Lance that it is his level 50 Dragonite that's the strongest
Yes, even though i didnt really train my pokemon, i actually beat them and my highest lvl was 58. Im not quite sure which is easier though, Gold/Silver/Crystal Elites or Ruby/Sapphire Elites
i think the sootopolis gym has higher levels than that
Not only that, but the Kanto gym leaders after that, for the most part, didn't get stronger over the course of the journey. Their strongest pokemon were all in the range of Lv44-48 (Save for Blaine and Gary), and, inexplicably, Janine has been given all Pokemon under lv40.
But I guess they made up for it by making Red really hard to beat...hehehe, except I can still 1-hit-ko his L81 Pikachu with my Lv47 Rhydon... |
It was really easy. I thought it was hard so I trained really hard. By, the time I got to the elite four, i was over-leveled.
only lance was hard if you didnt have a good pokemon with an ice attack
The e4 are easy in every generation so yes, I have noticed. Not only do most of their movesets suck, but the Pokémon they use aren't too great, either. Murkrow, Ariados and Venomoth, anyone? All of them have pretty low stats or bad movepool that doesn't support them and sucky moves/low levels make the e4 pathetically easy. Red isn't that much harder as it's quite easy to beat him with Pokémon in their late fifties/early sixties.
well in gsc, the elite four werent the final battles. the entire johto region opens with several sidequests. =/
GSC's E4 was the easiest of all the generations. I don't think the makers actually noticed that...
I have to say R/S/E was easier then GSC cause of lance from GSC and Karren were hard for me.
I Beat them with a level 40 something typlosion, and a level 40 something vileplume. The move-sets also always sucked, until D/P anyway. Their movesets are great.

Ya that's way to easy...lv 45.... whats that about?
i think the makers realized this coz R/S/E elite for is way harder
it was 2 easy!!! dont you think?
first of all, how is Lance supposed to get a Dragonite under lv 55???
and, yea, 2 easy, but that's only cause the game is only half over at this point. There's still the Kanto gyms and Red, who definitely is....sorta....maybe challeging w/ lv 70-80 pokés, but your pokés are über by that time so yea....w/e |
yes, but once you get to the kanto region its a little hard with Blue and Red.
yeah, it was easy, but my pokemon were undertrained.

I havent read through the entire thread so this point may have been covered; You forget that there are another 8 gym leaders AND red to come, its not meant to be the final challenge, its barley half way through
Actually Smarties I beat Red with a level 55 Tyranitar :P It was too easy...and I did that when I was a mecha-n00b.
But seriously the E4 always suck but at least some of them can actually hurt your pokemon like in Ruby how Drake's Salamence can inflict a little damage. the e4 in Gold is a disgrace to pokemon. Though I'm not going to bring up it took me about 10 tries to beat Lance... |
I think they made the G/S/C E4 so easy because, for some, the R/B/Y E4 was a lot harder than most anticipated.
It was easy. I beat it with Pokemon 10 levels lower. The opponents' Pokemon have no good techniques to use, so they're easy.
ha ha. i remember beating the e4 with a lv. 50 charmander and lv. 40 something tododile. but when i was little and first played through the game it was really hard, lol.
actually, for me gold/silver/crystal E4 versions were easy until i got to lance, i had to fight him like 5 times before i defeated him.
but i only have a lvl 60 magneium/poliwrath, nothing else was decent (unless you count the lvl 40 pokemon -.-) but d/p was easy than gold/silver/crystal (for me). i didn't have to refight any of them. highest pokemon was lvl 60 luxray, the rest was between lvl 50-54. |
Ha Destiny100 when you first went up against the E4 in Diamond you had a pokemon up to lv60 my highest lv pokemon was alakasam lv53 and the second highest garchomp lv51 the rest where in there late 40s and i hadn't even let my turtwig evolve and i beat them with ease. anyway back on subject yes G/S/C E4 were weak and was disappointed with them.
yes. The best level they had was 50? You call yourself a Pokemon league? I will spit on you! *gathers spit in throat*
1 hour later * still gathering spit* i need a drink. The best pokemon League is Kanto. there best level is 63 or 65! |
