shiny starters and legendaries ?

how do you get shiny starters and legendaries

Virtual Headache June 27th, 2007 1:39 PM

By soft resetting.
Every time you encounter them and find out they aren't shiny, soft reset the game until that happens. This may take ages though.

codymr14 June 27th, 2007 1:56 PM

oh ok thats what i thought

ThePenguinCave June 27th, 2007 2:09 PM

pokemon you encounter by themselves are a lot easier though, as random battles don't always hold the same pokemon every time you reset

codymr14 June 27th, 2007 4:08 PM

other games

how do you get shiny legendaries like lugia, dyoxos (spelling incorrect), groudon, kyogre, and other ones

I already answered that -.-
Save in front of them and soft reset until they are shiny...

Yeah. There's a 1/8192 chance or something like that for finding a shiny legendary, or any other Pokemon.

NessStar3000 June 27th, 2007 6:32 PM

I'm still noobish in this particular topic of shiny pokemon, but what's so special about shinies besides their color-changed appearence?

Midnight Beat June 27th, 2007 6:32 PM

For shiny starters you an always hatch eggs too.

I honestly don't know either.. Some people collect shinies, and I guess they're just rarer than their normal-colored versions.

Phanima June 27th, 2007 6:38 PM

Shiny Pokemon serve no other purpose then being extremely rare and of another colour. They also serve well as bargaining devices since many people will trade other rare Pokemon for such a specimen. However, they do do well as trophies, so if you ever do manage to encounter and capture one, consider yourself extremely lucky.

codymr14 June 28th, 2007 5:53 AM

so diamond/pearl areent the only pokemon games that you can get shinies ?

Ichida June 28th, 2007 6:06 AM

I don't bother with shinies because they're usually weaker, since they're almost always the wrong nature.

codymr14 June 28th, 2007 6:20 AM

man i just cant wait to connect with wifi to trade with you guys cuz i really need the starters like turtwig piplup and from the 1st and 2nd series

diamondpearl876 June 28th, 2007 6:27 AM

I don't have Wi-Fi yet, either.

And no, you can get shinies in R/S/E and all of the other games except red and blue and yellow I think.

rishi 20 June 28th, 2007 7:19 AM

plz, what is this shiny buisnees and do they just appear in the wild

-Jirachi- June 28th, 2007 7:35 AM

Just for rishi 20 because he asked so politly:

Shiny Pokemon. A Pokemon which appears in a wild battle with a different colour.

diamondpearl you are correct to my knowledge blue red and yellow don't have shinies in them. Luckily for us the good people at Game Freaks and Pokemon Company made FR/LG just so we could revel in the vast glory that is the world of colour alterated pokemon :D

rishi 20 June 28th, 2007 8:47 AM

cheers, jrachi makes it much more clearer now
