Completing National PokeDex: Anything Special?

I just recently completed the National PokeDex on my Pearl Version, but is anything special suppose to happen once it is completed? Prof. Rowan says what he has been saying for a long time, Prof. Oak tells you how happy he is, and the game designer/programmer/whatever shows you a diploma... but like the other games, you can't keep it. Mr. Goods doesn't even give you anything for completing the National PokeDex.

So again, is anything special suppose to happen?

Voltagenic June 27th, 2007 9:53 PM

Uh, maybe you get bragging rights? *shot*

icycatelf June 27th, 2007 9:56 PM

I think it would be better if you could keep the diploma in your Key Items pocket and look at it whenever you want.
It should have been like that with all the games.

I remember in R/S/E, they gave you a G/S/C starter when you completed the Hoenn dex..

Go and check Rowan's lab, maybe he has a starter from R/S/E for you.

I checked. Nothing at all....

Well, check Professor Oak's house.

Maybe he has somethin'.

icycatelf June 27th, 2007 10:03 PM

Nope, he didn't either. He just said that seeing the complete PokeDex was better than seeing any rare Pokemon and that he was happy to had made friends with a trainer like me.

Ayano Katagiri June 27th, 2007 11:14 PM

You get a certificate saying that you've completed the National Dex, hooray!

Go south of Lake Acuity and walk into the house north of the swimming pool. There will be a Game Freaks guy there, and will give you a certificate (which if I remember correctly is Dialga/Palkia) for completing the ND.

beauty. proletariat June 27th, 2007 11:25 PM

Oh, anything special? Yep, you can now use the Pal Park!!

Umm... no. You can use Pal Park from when you have "Seen" all the Pokemon in the Shinou Dex. You're getting confused here, it's finishing the National Dex that was asked.

beauty. proletariat June 27th, 2007 11:36 PM

Well, most people get nato dex b4 going to palpark...

.............

You're meant to have National Dex before you're allowed to enter Pal Park.
And to get the National Dex, you need to have finished the Shinou Dex by seeing all the Pokemon.

beauty. proletariat June 28th, 2007 1:46 AM

yeh, and you get nato dex by seing allo 150 pokes...

Ichida June 28th, 2007 5:52 AM

Yeah, there really isn't any reward aside from a certificate. Ah well. Take a picture of it and show it off.

icycatelf June 28th, 2007 1:36 PM

Has Nintendo ever came out with a DS printer?

I remember the Gameboy Camera and printer... but I don't recall any of the other systems having them.
It would be nice to print out the certificates when you get them.

wolfie1177 June 28th, 2007 2:31 PM

wow that's a really lame ending- that just lowered my motivation to finish my dex

Soulinferno June 28th, 2007 2:35 PM

I think that you get a star on your trainer card for seeing or capturing all 493 pokemon excluding event poke's.

icycatelf June 28th, 2007 3:22 PM

Yeah, I know about the extra star thing. I think I just need one more star to have all of them... To get it I must get a so many streak win in the battle tower or whatever. All that does is change the color of the Trainer Card though.

411Break June 28th, 2007 3:23 PM

You get a star on your trainer card.

Shiny Umbreon June 28th, 2007 4:28 PM

Well, to get all the stars is the main point of the game. I think the last one is cool black trainer card.

diamondpearl876 June 28th, 2007 4:48 PM

You can have bragging rights to people like me, who will probably never, ever finish the National Dex. :)

bloo14 June 28th, 2007 6:12 PM

yeah i finished mine like in 10 days

and all they give you is a freakin certificate!!!!

i mean that is cool and all but

they couldve done more

p.s i have a black trainer card

Josh!a June 28th, 2007 6:28 PM

you get another star on your trainer card

Eleventyseventy June 28th, 2007 7:06 PM

icycatelf June 28th, 2007 7:32 PM
