Umm...you should...add...maybe...

Lol - This is a pretty good team I like the movesets, I agree with most of them and are inexperienced with Gengar and Electivire movesets. I assume you would know the EV's for Electivire (ATK and possibly SPD); and I assume you know the desirable Abilities for each. I might try a Cutsap berry (move first in a pinch) for Bronzong because in a pinch, his speed may not be effective against most pokemon, giving you one last chance to affect their pokemon. For Electivire I would give him Expert Belt maybe, to make use of his varied moveset; for Infernape, maybe a Choice Band to punish foes with his attacks. Try those out, and I hope they work out for you. Other than those suggestions it looks like a very balanced team and well equiped for battle.

-Happy Battling!

Don't waste Togekiss on Baton Passing

Destiny Bond doesn't quite work for Gengar. Giga Drain is replaced with Energy Ball, and engar can't afford to lose focus on Focus Blast.

With Flare Blitz and Close Combat, you'll be lucky if Infernape lasts two turns.

I don't feel like messing with this guy, but I'll tell you he's not an attacker at all. Even so, you'll need something to do damage.

Just screw all that and stick with what PBR gives you. To clear things up,
-Ice Punch
-Thunderpunch
-Earthquake
-Cross Chop

I only messed with the EVs if I knew they were horribly wrong.

FlamesFan June 30th, 2007 11:17 AM

I just thought of some stuff for this team. I agree with Nutri's changes for Gengar and Bronzong; I don't understand his changes for Electivire though. Infernape's nature should be Hasty with EV's in SpAtk, Atk and Spd(more than others). I would give Infernape Close Combat and Flamethrower to counter SkarBliss; and with Expert Belt, it would work well.

No Swords Dance? You might want to reconsider. Consider making it Jolly instead.

If you're going to run Baton Pass and Nasty Plot, you might as well run Wish as well. Also, I don't really like the idea of no HP EVs. And if you'll stick with the standard ParaFlinch set, put T-Wave/Body Slam onto him and then get rid of those Speed EVs.

EV's: Speed-252, Sp.Attack-252, HP-6

There's a WIDE number of movesets Gengar can have. Consider some of these moves: Hypnosis, Hidden Power Fire/Ice(if you have it), Thunderbolt, Explosion, Energy Ball, Will-o-Wisp...There are even more moves, so you can play around with him a little.

[email protected] Naive/Jolly
EV's Attack-252, Speed-128, Sp.Attack-128
Nature:
-Thunder Punch
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Fire Blitz

Really depends on how you want your Infernape. If you want an all out attacker, give it Swords Dance, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Thunderpunch/Stone Edge. Your team is Stone Edge weak though, so consider it. Also, unless Fire Blitz is a special attack, you're wasting EVs putting them into SP ATTK.

[email protected] Relaxed
EV's Defense-252, HP-128, Attack-128
Nature:
-Iron Defense
-Hypnosis
-Earthquake
-Block/Confuse Ray

Moves to consider: Trick Room, Gyro Ball, Hidden Power Ice, Calm Mind, Explosion...EV spread depends on the role you want it to have.

[email protected] Expert Belt/Life Orb
EV's: 252 ATTK / 178 SPEED / 80 SP ATTK(if you run Thunderbolt)
Nature: Lonely
-Thunder Punch/Thunderbolt
-Earthquake
-Cross Chop
-Ice Punch

I got kind of lazy helping out, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Thunderbolt is not the answer.

Jinnai taichou June 30th, 2007 1:33 PM

It's a possible choice, NOT a definite one, hence the "Thunderpunch/Thunderbolt". :/ Thunderpunch IS more useful it would seem. Besides, with Expert Belt/Life Orb and Thunderbolt having more base attack, it can be more useful. I'll run damage calculations to be sure and edit this post.

Before anyone even comments on Gyarados, it's still a damage test nontheless. I kind of did this in a hurry, so if I messed up, let me know.

Electivire w/ Thunderbolt vs Gyarados: 434 - 511 damage.
Electivire w/ Thunderpunch vs Gyarados: Damage: 296 - 348. (This was done with Gyarados' Intimidate affecting Electivire's attack and Gyarados having NO defense EVs.)

Ah, but try the same on Mantine.

Jinnai taichou June 30th, 2007 2:08 PM

Well played sir. That's where it depends on your team. Personally, if I had Gengar running with Thunderbolt, then I'd naturally put Thunderpunch onto Electivire. If not, then Electivire would have T-Bolt, for me at least.

Samson June 30th, 2007 5:17 PM

electivire needs thunderbolt rather thunder punch. nuff said.

Not if Gengar has Thunderbolt. Mantine would survive a Thunderbolt much easier than a Thunerpunch, as would most Water and Flying types with their common high Special Defense.
