Does using EXP-Share make the Pokemon weaker?

I was wondering if I use a EXP Share to train a Pokemon I want to replace a already high level Pokemon that I've trained normally throughout the whole game, would the one I trained with the EXP Share be weaker?

no, but he might get undesired EV's, so be careful

If you know what EV training is, then you should do that first. Completely fill his EVs as fast as you can. Then once the EVs are done you can use Exp. Share and he won't get any undesired EVs, but get stronger from the EVs you put into him at first. Using Exp. Share does give the Pokemon EVs, but if you just want to use this Pokemon to get through the game instead of for competitive battling then go ahead and Exp. Share.

So he does get EV though right?

empoleonrules July 5th, 2007 7:22 AM

Who cares about ev training!I migrated an aron(lvl. 6)from my saphire and I put exp. share on him through the e4!I say you don't need to ev train if you got good enough moves!

and by the way it's your pokemon not are's so you decide...

but if you were fighting an ev trained team, with the same moves

you'd die lots :)

Yes, he does get EVs, but you can't really control what he gets if you go through the Elite Four. He'll get quite a few of every EV possibly.

...I do, because when I fight people competitively I don't feel like getting ripped to shreds. If I were to make a team exactly as you have with the same moves, but EV train them to what I feel can rip apart stuff, and then fought your non-EV trained team, I would most likely win.

EVs can make a huge difference of a stat change of about 60. 60 more attack would do a lot more damage than say 20 EVs because you didn't care about EV training. It does help, but takes a while if you don't really know how.

But, you never controlled what EVs they got. I could get a Rhyperior to take out most of your team. I'd give it 252 Attack and 252 Speed EVs. I'd give it a moveset like: Hammer Arm, Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Mega Horn, it would use Earthquake on your Rhyperior and it would probably die. Your Staraptor? Dead from Stone Edge. Your Empoleon? Earthquaked. EV trained Pokemon are powerful and are hard to fight against if your Pokemon aren't EV trained.

A Garchomp trained in Speed and Attack could basically KO your team. It's really fast with 130 base attack. If it knew Outrage, it'd take out 2-3 Pokemon easily. Your Pokemon do have EVs, but they aren't EV trained. EV trained means that you controlled what EVs they received to make them a certain way.

let's see dusknoir will take hits and i can teach some good stuff(i'm a tm collecter but so far i used most of my tms)oh and my empoleon had ice beam and i easly OHKO them with hydro cannon(to strong for you)and i'm in amity square looking for matre berries to turn into poffins to make feebas boodyfull so i can get it into a milotic and get it through the e 4.plus my rhyperior knows surf and earthquake plus i made him able to take 3 earthquakes from my friends level 60 garchomp so i'll surf and eq you dead

Dude... your team's like saying: "If you can't walk the walk don't talk the talk."

Your team has the moves, but no EVs to cover it. I'm not even gonna argue, you know what they say: "Don't argue with an idiot, they'll just bring you down to their level."

-_-if i could transfer from xd gale of darkness you'ld be sorry...Anyways back ontopic:you decide I can't force you to ev train nor exp share,It's you life and your supposed to lead it not others.Like a dum saying that actually has a deep meaning:You can pick you nose, you can pick your friends,But you can't pick your friend's nose

But really, can just specific EV's do the trick? I thought it's good to be diverse.
