Rate My Team

Hi. I'm Phantom90 and I need some help with my Pokemon Pearl team.

Blastoise Lv. 83 @SplashPlate
HydroCannon
HydroPump
Blizzard
SkullBash

Lugia Lv. 71 @???(can anyone give me some ideas for an item?)
Psychic
HydroPump
Recover
Punishment

Pidgeot Lv. 86 @SkyPlate
Fly
AirSlash
AerialAce
MirrorMove

Snorlax Lv. 100* @Leftovers
Rest
SleepTalk
Surf(I dunno about this)
Earthquake

Blissey Lv. 100* @Leftovers
Aromatherapy
SeismicToss
ThunderWave
SoftBoiled

Aggron Lv. 100 @IronPlate
FireBlast
IronHead
Double-Edge
Cut(need to get rid of this and FBlast and replace them)

Please fix it up. I know this team isn't the best, but it's not the worst either.

Lephisto July 7th, 2007 3:42 PM

Blastoise Lv. 83 @SplashPlate
HydroCannon

Blizzard

Are you kidding me?

Blastoise
-Surf
-Toxic
-Ice Beam
-Rest
Have a nice day,

Phantom90 July 7th, 2007 4:56 PM

How about this:

Blastoise @SplashPlate
SkullBash
Surf
Rest
IceBeam

Lord Mike July 7th, 2007 5:03 PM

Lol. You people stink at movesets (I'm not directing this to Memphis).

Use Memphis' set for Blastoise.

Lugia Lv. 71 @ Leftovers (can't go wrong with these)
Psychic
Calm Mind
Recover
Ice Beam/Toxic

Go with Toxic on stalling Lugia; Ice Beam regularly.

Pidgeot Lv. 86 @ Choice Band
Steel Wing
Return
AerialAce/Wing Attack
Quick Attack

Fly sucks. Air Slash sucks on Pidgeot with its horrible Special Attack. Mirror Move sucks. Only thing half good here is Aerial Ace, which can always be replaced by its higher PP version: Wing Attack.

Snorlax Lv. 100* @Leftovers Finally, a half good item.
Rest
Return/Body Slam
Curse
Earthquake

Lol. Surf on Snorlax...?

Blissey Lv. 100* @Leftovers
Aromatherapy
SeismicToss
ThunderWave
SoftBoiled

Perfect.

Aggron Lv. 100 @IronPlate
Rock Slide/Stone Edge
Iron Tail
Double-Edge (make sure it has the Rock Head ability)
Earthquake

Replace either Blissey or Snorlax. You don't need two special walls imo.

Azonic July 7th, 2007 5:12 PM

Don't give any plates to a pokemon. It is a waste. It may boost attacks, but only barely.

Only one on each element type should be on a pokemon's moveset, unless it isn't an offensive pokemon. Hydrocannon And Hydropump shouldn't be on the same moveset. And I wouldn't choose them anyways.

My opinion is that it needs a lot of improvement.

[email protected] Rock
Trait: Torrent
Nature: Modest
EVs: 172 SP ATK/ 168 DEF/ 164 SP.DEF

Surf
Icebeam
Earthquake
Toxic

*Average Bulky Water. Surf from boost of STAB and Rain Dance. Icebeam takes care of Grass types and EQ takes care of Electric types, leaving it open for no weaknesses, Restalk is an option along with Mirrorcoat and Counter.

[email protected]
Trait: Pressure
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 HP/252 DEF/ 4 SP. DEF

Recover
Thunderbolt
Icebeam
Calm Mind

*Nice Bolt-Beamer. Bolt-beam takes care of the most coverage available, leaving it open for very few enemies.Psychic is not a good attack type and has minimal type coverage. Calm Mind to Tank up Lugia to the most dreaded pokemon and Recover to, well, recover. EQ is a thought to handle electric types.

[email protected]
Trait: Keen Eye
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 SPEED/ 252 HP/ 4 ATK

Brave Bird
Featherdance
Toxic
Double Team

*Not so good pokemon. All stats below average and shallow movepool. Brave Bird is a good attack since Pidgeot probably won't last that long. Double team so you could probably make it last longer, and Featherdance and Toxic probably will force your opponent to switch out so you can Toxic-shuffle. Overall not a good pokemon, but feel free to use whatever pokemon you want.

[email protected] Berry
Trait: Thick Fat
Nature: Adamant/ Bold
EVs: 252 DEF/ 172 ATK/ 80 HP

Return
Bellydrum
Rest
Earthquake

*Overall a good pokemon, Defense stats and Speed stats are a drag. Maxing out Defense would make it a beautiful tank. Belly drum is nice, it has enough HP and Sp. Def to last several hits, then Rest/Chesto Berry and make Blissey proud by pure sweepage with that Attack stat. Swords Dance is an option over this, it will cost an extra turn though.

[email protected]
Trait: Serene Grace
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 DEF/ 4 Sp. ATK

Icebeam
Thunderbolt
Softboiled
Seismic Toss

*Bolt Beamer, try to max out that poor Defense stat. Softboiled is assurable for that massive HP stat. Seismic Toss for pokemon who won't take bolt-beam, not much though. You could try this moveset too

[email protected]
Trait: Natural Cure
Nature Bold
EVs: 252 HP/252 DEF/ 4 SP.DEF

Seismic Toss
Toxic
Softboiled
Reflect

*Special Wall, Reflect in case of mixed sweepers. Seismic toss to do damage, Toxic to induce status and help from Seismic Toss. Softboiled to recover.

[email protected]
Trait: Sturdy
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 SP.DEF/ 252 ATK/ 4 HP

Iron Head
Stone Edge
Avalanche
Earthquake

*Tank, Max out the poor Special Defense to make it a real tank. no EVs in in DEF because most people aren't stupid enough to use Stone Edge against a 180 base. They are sure to aim for your Special Defense, which is far below average. Avalanche is a physical type Blizzard, Meh, the moveset is a Physical Sweeper,

Phantom90 July 7th, 2007 5:20 PM

I have an idea now.

Blastoise @SplashPlate (I can't use a Leftovers for EVERY Pokemon, can I?)
IceBeam
Rest
Surf
Toxic

Snorlax @Leftovers
Earthquake
BodySlam
Rest
SleepTalk

Lugia @Leftovers(alternative until I can find an item for Lugia)
IceBeam(if I go with IceBeam for Lugia, then I'm gonna use Blizzard on Blastoise)
HydroPump
CalmMind
Fly

Pidgeot @SkyPlate
AerialAce (if someone uses DoubleTeam or some other move like that, I'll be ready)
SteelWing
Roost
BraveBird

Aggron @IronPlate
MetalBurst (for DoubleBattles)
IronHead
Earthquake
StoneEdge

What type of Pokemon should I put in for Blissey? And what Pokemon of that type?

Wet Rock... Doesn't that make Rain Dance last longer? Yeah... Blastoise is too slow to compete with generally-speedy Electric types and is WAY too weak to sustain a full blown hit. Toxic seems a bit out of place here.

[email protected]Leftovers
Trait: Keen Eye
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 SPEED/ 252 HP/ 4 ATK

Brave Bird
Featherdance
Toxic
Double Team

As you said, it won't last long, so there's no point in using Leftovers. Double Team is too much of a gamble and gambling in Pokemon... Not so great.

[email protected] Berry
Trait: Thick Fat

Return
Bellydrum
Rest
Earthquake

Besides the fact that this Pokemon is completely helpless against the likes of Drifblim and Ghost-types with Levitate... I kind of like it.

Eh, that's what I think. Also, Toxic on three Pokemon, not too great either.

Azonic July 7th, 2007 5:28 PM

Oh, I was gonna suggest Rain Dance but I erased it, I forgot to erase Wet Rock too. Once again I say don't use the plate items, but, feel free to get your butt kicked out of the staduim... before you ever entered

Toxic seems out of place.

Snorlax @Leftovers
Earthquake
BodySlam
Rest
SleepTalk

Helpless against ghosts w/ Levitate and Drifblim. Return is much stronger + gains bigger STAB bonus, other than Paralyze chance, use Return. Sleep Talk is... Meh, replace with Curse or Belly Drum (In case of Belly Drum, replace item with Chesto)

Lugia @Leftovers(alternative until I can find an item for Lugia)
IceBeam(if I go with IceBeam for Lugia, then I'm gonna use Blizzard on Blastoise)
HydroPump
CalmMind
Fly

No Blizzard without Hail. No Fly, please.
There, so, replace Fly, Sleep Talk, and Toxic, please.

Phantom90 July 7th, 2007 5:47 PM

Now everyone is confusing me. And with the natures, don't post them because I have NO idea how I'm supposed to get a different nature for Lugia. Why don't I use Swellow instead of Pidgeot? That way, you guys won't have to worry about Pidgeot. Also, you people use Toxic too much (no offence!).

Lord Mike July 8th, 2007 5:47 AM

.....

Penguinpal, I'm loling at your moveset for Blissey and Pidgeot.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
-Softboiled
-Thunder Wave/Ice Beam (Ice Beam for Dragon troubles only)
-Seismic Toss
-Aromathreapy/Heal Bell

Pidgeot @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Steel Wing
-Return
-Quick Attack
-Aerial Ace/Wing Attack

Never use Double Team. Its cheap crap. That's all it is.

CurseLax is best people. Still most common in the metagame btw.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
-Curse
-Earthquake
-Rest
-Return

Snorlax isn't meant to destroy Ghosts anyway.

Psychic on Lugia for STAB. 'Nuff said for that.

Don't use EQ on Blastoise. Rest please. Surf, Ice Beam, Rest, Toxic. Get it through your skulls, people.

Iron Head is crap compared to Iron Tail.

Belly Drum Snorlax is crap as well.

Have a nice day.

Phantom90 July 8th, 2007 7:28 AM

Toxic, no.

WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE AND TOXIC?!? God, why put Toxic on Blastoise when all he'll be doing is KOing Rapidash, a lot of the person who trains Ground type's Pokemon, and maybe Beautifly with his attacks? Toxic is a waste with him. If I had a Poison type Pokemon, Ok, but I don't! Get this though your skulls that I don't want Toxic! Done.

Ok, I've been thinking about moves so here they are!

Blastoise @WetRock
RainDance(to give Surf a little more power)
Surf
Blizzard
SkullBash

RainDance will power up Surf enough to KO many Pokemon. Blizzard incase anything happens to Lugia (faints, sleeps, etc.) SkullBash so he can raise his Defence before he attacks the next turn.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Lugia @Leftovers
IceBeam
Psychic(for type purposes)
CalmMind(to max out Psychic and AeroBlast)
AreoBlast

With CalmMind, Lugia can Max out Sp.Attk and Sp.Def and he'll be the most dreaded Pokemon in the battle. Using Psychic and AeroBlast to sweep after Maxing out, and IceBeam for Dragons.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Aggron @HardStone(or something like that)
Earthquake
IronTail
Protect
MetalSound

The purpose of these moves is if there is a double battle with Blastoise and Aggron against an Electric Type (Pikachu, for example), Aggron uses Earthquake, defeated. Also, if Aggron is facing a Pokemon with a high Defence stat, Aggron can use MetalSound, then IronTail, boom defeated.
----------------------------------------------------------
Snorlax @ChestoBerry
BodySlam
Rest
Thunder
Crunch

BodySlam to Paralze the foe, Rest to heal, Thunder for WaterTypes, and Crunch for Lucian's Pokemon. ChestoBerry so he can wake up after using Rest.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Pidgeot @Leftovers (I don't know if I'll be using him)
Roost
BraveBird
Fly (to be able to fly to different cities)
SteelWing

Roost so he can heal, BraveBird for attacking the foe, Fly so I can fly to different cities and towns, and SteelWing because its a nice attack.

I don't know if I'll be using Blissey and I might change her. Should I? If I should, can you give me some ideas for a new Pokemon?
